We are so excited to meet you and hope that you will have a very happy time with us at this fun and busy summer camp
Led by highly qualified and experienced professionals in their field, our staff will support and guide campers through this exciting and engaging adventure of learning.
Our campers grow in confidence through taking ownership and responsibility for their personal belongings, preparing for the day and thinking for themselves
The hands-on activities build independent learning and socialisation Campers will experience on-site activities led by our fantastic team of staff and additional off-site activities led by qualified professionals to really experience the best of outdoor activities.
The Camp caters to the needs of each individual camper and we aim to create memorable experiences, cultural diversity and a respect for others during the course The Camp is English speaking and we will encourage campers to communicate in English at all times
A short language assessment will be sent out to your child prior to their arrival so that we can provide them with the right support and a TEAMS call will be arranged so that campers may meet one another prior to arriving at camp.

Please follow signs to the ‘WELCOME AREA‘ between 14:00 –16:00 to check-in and you will be shown to your boarding houses. During checking-in we will record and confirm some details: departure times, passports, insurance, pocket money, electronic devices, medication, etc.
What happens on arrival ‘Welcome Day’:
• 10:00 – 15 00 Airport Transfers take place during this window
• 14:00 - 16:00 Welcome afternoon for campers and parents
There will be opportunity to settle into your room and meet other students in our 'carnival feel' festival.
You will find more information about our activities for the day in the Activity Tent on the drive pitches.

• 19:00 – 21:00 Evening team building activities (for boarders only)

AIRPORT
TRANSFERS
If you would like a transfer to or from the airport, please contact us and we will organise transport for you. Please note there is a charge of £120.00 for a single journey / £200.00 for a return. We only operate a transfer service from London Heathrow (LHR) or London Gatwick (LGA) airports, between the hours of 10.00 and 15 00 Arrival or Departure flights outside of this time can not be guaranteed to be met by the transfer service Later transfers will incurr additional fees and / or a private taxi may be arranged for you on your behalf.
UNACCOMPANIED MINORS
If your child is traveling alone as a UM they will be met at the airport by a member of staff who will escort your child to the campus.

WELCOME DAY - Residential
Registration
On arrival you will meet members of the Leadership Team and other Camp staff. Important details and information will be checked and you will be shown to the Boarding House by one of the Residential Team You will be given a tour so you can find your way around the school, and a Camp goodie bag You will get to meet and greet other campers and settle into your room. Arrival time on Sunday (for Residential campers) is between 2pm and 4pm. On the day you arrive, you’ll take part in fun induction games and activities run by the residential team, designed to help you get to know your fellow camp mates and familiarise yourself with the campus.
Your valuable items will be checked in with camp staff upon registration - this may include your mobile device, i-pad or other hand held device, charger, passport and money We will also check any medication you bring with you Please ensure all items are clearly labelled with your name.
Making yourself at home
Once you have been shown your room, you can start to unpack and settle into your own space If you are sharing a room, you may like to spend some time getting to know your roommate[s]. All roommates will be international so you can learn and share each other’s culture while practising your English
Settling in to residential
Once everyone has arrived and started to get to know one another, we will hold our first Camp meeting while enjoying some festival street food. This is where you will be introduced to the whole team, and meet any late arrivals to camp. We will go through camp rules and share the excitement of the first few days of camp and what to expect. Then we will settle down for the night and get prepared for the following day.
Settling in - Residential Campers
When you arrive, you will be helped to settle in by the duty staff and some of our experienced team memebrs You will have time to unpack, and we will show you where everything goes Remember to bring any special things you want to have with you as we want you to create your own space and make it feel homely. You will have a tour of the house so that you know where everything is and a boarding induction to get to know the area, the school grounds, fire assembly points and all the ins and outs of the boarding community. You might be feeling worried about getting lost or forgetting something - but don’t worry - we will ensure that you are able to find everything you need
Fellow campers
You will meet your fellow campers - some of whom may be new to a camp like this - so there will be lots to talk about. There will be time for a chat before our first Camp meeting and before you get ready for bed It might feel strange to be in a new place on the first night, but after such a busy day, you’ll soon fall asleep
Mornings and Camp Meetings
You will be woken by the duty staff members at around 07 30 Once you are awake, get dressed and be ready to go to the dining hall for breakfast. Staff will be on hand to give any medications you need before breakfast and to talk through any last minute arrangements before camp. All residential campers will eat breakfast together in the dining hall. Breakfast is served between 08.00 and 08.45. After breakfast we head back to the boarding house before the first camp meeting and roll call at 09 00 This is a good time to ensure that you leave your room clean and clear If you look after your space and keep it tidy, the cleaners will be able to help keep it clean.
Evening Activities -
Residential Campers only
Free Time: 17.30 - 18.30
This is your opportunity to relax! A chance to ring home and tell them about your day or to chill before heading into the evening activities.
1:1 Tutorials: students who have opted to take additional classes in English, Maths, Dance, Swimming or Tennis, will go to these sessions and join the full camp for Supper
Supper and Snacks
Supper is served between 18.30 and 19.30 in the dining hall. A lighter option with two courses offered with accompaniments and salad. Sliced fruit is available at morning break and a cake or cookie in the afternoon There is cereal and toast available in the boarding houses
Evening Activities
The evening activities will run on a rota and there will be something for everyone
For those that want to keep active there will be some Sports available and maybe a Team Challenge
For those that wish to take it easy there may be a Yoga class, Wellbeing Session or Campfire Sing-A-Long
Bedtime Routine
There is a rolling bedtime for campers of different ages. The house parents will tell you when it is time to sign in your tech (iphone, ipad etc) and get ready for bed Juniors from 21 00 and Seniors from 21 30 Lights out is at 22 00
Weekend timings
On Saturday we have a lazy morning with breakfast pastries served in the boarding houses from 09.30. Lunch and Supper timings work around the Activity afternoon and Big Day Out

How to find us
Reddam House School can be found not too far away from the M4 and M25 with good connections to central London by rail and near to London airports, Heathrow (LHR) and Gatwick (LGA)
Morning Drop off - 9am (Extended day pass from 8.30am)
Afternoon Pick up - 5.30pm
Students will be met by a member of our fantastic team. Staff members will meet Day students by the Activity Tent each morning. We ask that all day pupils sign in and update any collection arrangements for the afternoon. If someone other than the parent/guardian is picking up, we must have a letter of consent, signed by the parent, presented to the camp office prior to the event.
Emergency Contact
In the event of an emergency we will always contact the parent/guardian in the first instance. You may have a representative allocated on your consent from who is a recognised authorised adult who, if necessary, may collect the child from camp in your absence On collection any authorised adult must present their ID.
NANO CAMP

All NANO Camp students will meet the NANO Camp leader by the Activity Tent ready for their day of adventure and activities. There is an excursion every Wednesday, so please ensure all children have the correct items for the day including a backpack and light-weight coat.

Team Briefing
There will be a camp meeting every morning at 09 00 This is a time when we do a full roll call to ensure all campers are in the right place at the right time. There may be a breakdown of the day to explain what campers will be doing and where they will be going and we will start each morning with a Camp Activity
Morning Session
You will head off with your fellow campers and Team Leader to your morning choice - Languages (English), Public Speaking and Debating, Pre-Med, Sports or STEAM. This session will last from 09.30 - 12.30 when you will meet back at the dining room for lunch.
Lunch
Lunch is a great place to catch up with friends and find out about their day so far. There is a good choice of lunchtime food; a cooked meal as well as soup and salads, freshly baked bread, fruit and a tasty pudding. We take pride in ensuring that the food available is what the students are looking for and our team will ensure all medical and dietary needs are catered for.
House Meeting and Afternoon Session
At 13 00, the camp will come back together again for another team meeting and to explain what is happening for the afternoon The afternoon session - Equestrian Studies, Theatre and Performance, and Wilderness Adventure - will start at 13.30 and so students will be given 15 minutes to get ready and meet in the designated area.
End of day / Freetime / 1:1 Tutorials
The day ends at 17.30. This is when Day Campers will be collected to go home and Residential Campers will return to their Boarding House for Freetime Students who have opted to take additional sessions will go to their 1:1 Tutorials at this time

After breakfast, resident campers will head off to the 09:00 Welcome and Daily Team Briefing before going to their chosen morning activity and return to Camp for lunch.
After lunch, activities will take place during the course of the afternoon Some campers may attend off-site activities Once lessons have finished, Day campers will leave site and Residential campers will have some free time Some students may have 1:1 Tutorials to attend.
After lessons and activities, we will all get together for the evening meal Then there will be some fun activities, sports, pool time, quizzes, talent nights, treasure hunts and lots more!
Day campers join the camp from Monday to Friday, from 09:00 to 17.30 A supervisor will be waiting to greet them at the Activity Tent - or in the case of bad weather the main reception entrance
In the afternoons, Day campers will be collected by their parents from the Harriet Walter Theatre.
Thursdays are excursion days for the main Summer Camp programmes. NANO Camp excursions are every Wednesday.

Each morning there will be a 3-hour session of Academic study in Languages (English), Public Speaking and Debating, Pre-Medicine, Sports or STEAM.
This will be followed by lunch and then a 4-hour session in the afternoon - Equestrian Studies, Theatre and Performance or Wilderness Adventure
For Residential campers, free time or 1:1 tutorial time is between 5.30 - 6.30pm before Supper, and then a selection of evening activities will keep the students busy from 7 309.00pm. Juniors bedtime is between 9 - 9.30pm and Seniors 9.30 - 10pm.

Every afternoon, the whole camp will come together to share their learning and experiences in our Group share session.

EQUESTRIAN STUDIES
Santolina Stables was established in 1990 in Wokingham, Berkshire and offers a safe environment so children can experience the thrill, fun and enjoyment of riding and horse care whilst spending time with the ponies.
Santolina is an ABRS (Association of British Riding Stables) approved centre and offer accredited progressive training and assessments in equitation and stable management for grass roots levels.
Campers will learn and have fun at the same time with the adorable ponies at Santolina. From hoof picking to tacking up, leading in hand to riding.
What to wear
Students are required to wear comfortable clothing, preferably leggings or jodhpurs on the bottom half. Students should wear solid shoes, preferably boots, but NO TRAINERS or any shoes with laces.
Safety Clothing
Santolina Stables will provide all students with a safety riding hat and a full body protector.
EXCURSIONS (Main camp)
Excursions allow campers to fully immerse themselves in local culture and enjoy spending time with their new friends making long-lasting memories These trips have an educational theme and students will be able to take advantage of opportunities on offer including museums, places of interest and tourist attractions We will encourage students to practice their language skills whilst out and about

A visit to the oldest and largest occupied castle in the world and surrounding area including a walk in Windsor Great Park and down the Long Walk

The premiere destination for Naval history including the untold story of the finding, excavation and recovery of The Mary Rose followed by an afternoon at Gunwharf Quays for a bit of retail therapy.

SECURITY INSURANCE
The school is a secure area with supervised access, 24 hours a day Campers can move freely and safely inside the campus, but are not allowed to exit campus without prior permission. External doors can only be accessed using a staff key fob and student mentors will monitor where students are at all times
Please make sure your child has adequate travel insurance cover for the United Kingdom. The school insurance covers activities taken onsite with full Risk Assessments in place.

A co-eductaional independent through-school for girls and boys from three months to 18 years. Set in 125 acres of parkland, the school has a unique philosophy and formula for success based on the quality and depth of curricular, cultural and sporting activities available Summer Camp will take full advantage of the exceptional grounds for Multi-Activity (Sport) and Wilderness Adventure utilising the woodlands and impressive sports facilities The Dance & Performance course will be based within the professional theatre space and dance studios onsite.
STEAM will use the science labs, while the English department use the classrooms with whiteboards and other interactive means of teaching

BOARDING HOUSES
All our campers will stay at either Drake House, Blake House or The Loft. We have a selection of bedrooms, some of which are ensuite, and each some come with shared facilities Rooms feature W i-Fi, fitted wardrobes, desks, and chests of drawers. Some bedrooms will be shared with 1 or 2 campers
Each boarding house has a communcal area where students can meet and chat, play games or use the pool tables. There is also a kitchen where students can prepare their own drinks and snacks. There is also a washing machine for use outside of the laundry service provided
Each boarding house will have at least two members of staff on site who will be their overnight contact.

COMING TO SCHOOL
If you are bringing your child to Camp, we recommend that you use the main drive as there is a car park available to all parents Morning drop off and afternoon pick up will be from the Harriet Walter Theatre Foyer
At usual pick up time (17.00 for NANO Camp) Students will be released from the Theatre Foyer
At pick up for Main Camp / Extended Day for NANO (17.30) students will be released from Theatre Foyer
KEEPING IN TOUCH
Campers appreciate letters, postcards and phone calls. It is very likely that during the first few days of camp, your child may feel homesick, so rest assured that we’ll encourage them to call you and that we’ll take care to ensure they are integrating well. We have a buddy system for those who are struggling to settle and all students will have their mentor if they need someone to talk to.
When contacting your child, we recommend that you don’t dwell on home problems, favourite pets, or how much everybody misses them. Try to be cheerful and chatty.
Campers are allowed to make or receive phone calls during their free time between 5 30 - 6 30pm UK time, as phones are not to be carried during activities or lessons, or after evening activities
To check on your child’s progress, feel free to call the duty phone and speak to their designated monitor The school office is open from 09:00 – 15:00 each week day
POCKET MONEY
The amount of pocket money given to a camper is at your discretion. All costs for meals and excursions are included, but your child may like to bring money for snacks and refreshments, and for presents or souvenirs (we recommend no more than £50/per week) You will be asked to leave your child’s pocket money with a Camp Leader upon arrival, along with any travel documents and mobile phones. If you do not wish to bring cash, you can bring a bank debit card and we will ensure that you visit a cash machine as you need it or you can use the card on ‘tap to pay ’ rather than having lots of cash with you NANO Camp students may wish to bring some spending money on excursions. We recommend no more than £10 per excursion.
MOBILE PHONES
and other items of value
Residential Campers may bring a mobile phone with them, but they must ensure their phones are signed in on arrival and returned each evening to be put on charge. Handing your phone in prevents the temptation to be looking at them when you should be getting some well-earned rest All electrical items should be labelled to stop them getting lost, and we ask all students to be responsible for their own items. Failure to adhere to this rule will result in confiscation of the phone.
We do not have mobile phone use during the day, so we advise that Day Campers and NANO Campers do not bring a device with them. This includes smart watches
MISSING HOME
Staying away from home can be an exciting adventure for many people, but for others the idea of being away from home for any period of time can cause homesickness. Homesickness is something we all experience at some point, and we understand that emotions to being away from home may need support and guidance. We therefore aim to make the transition of nervous individuals to independent campers who are able to cope with change We will encourage campers to communicate with us if and when they feel a bit low and if necessary we will enable a call home
MAKING
FRIENDS BEFORE YOU GO
If you would like the opportunity to meet a fellow camper before coming to Camp we can facilitate setting up a Teams Meeting so you can socialise and chat. This is a lovely way to start Camp and ensure you see at least one familiar face on the first day These have been arranged for (Session 1) Monday 10th June (Session 2) Tuesday 11th June (Session 3) Wednesday 12th June
REWARDS
It is important that we take pride in our camp, keeping them tidy and helping others to create a happy place to be. Staff take notice of good behaviour and a willingness to help, and students will be rewarded following the Behaviour Management and Code of Conduct for campers.
A simple rule helps to keep our boarding community a happy one:

BIRTHDAYS
Birthdays are a special occasion and if you are missing home on your special day, everyone will make sure you are having fun and enjoy yourself on camp. We will welcome you with a Happy Birthday at our morning meeting and treat you to some cake in the afternoon Please remember to let us know if you are having a birthday on camp!
COMMUNAL AREAS
We enjoy spending time together as a community and we want to maintain a warm and welcoming space within our camp We expect students to be respectful of others at all times. Our cleaning staff work hard to keep our environment pleasant for everyone so we help them by keeping dirty boots and shoes away from furnishings, and dirty laundry in the laundry baskets and rubbish put away in the bins.
Each boarding house has a kitchen area available for drinks and snacks You are welcome to help yourself, but please wash up your crockery or load the dishwasher, and leave the area clean and tidy for your fellow campers and staff.
LOST PROPERTY
In a busy camp community, sometimes items go missing - don’t worry! Clothing will turn up in the laundry or mixed up in another students’ things. Staff will help you to look for anything you have lost and we also have a lost property box where you can look for your lost items.
MEDICATIONS/ HEALTH CARE
We need to know your child’s medical information before they arrive, so if your child has any specific medical needs, please make us aware of it in the medical section of the application form. If you forget, please get in touch so we can send you an alternative medical form to complete before arrival
All medication must be signed in upon arrival - this includes all prescription medication and over the counter meds for headache or cold and flu.
If your child needs regular medication while at Camp, please give our first aider the relevant medicines in their original prescription container, along with the pharmacy instructions. Place the prescription containers in a clean Ziplock bag labelled with your child’s name and date of birth Please do not pack your child’s medication in with their luggage.
Students DO NOT need to bring preventative medication such as paracetamol or ibuprofen If they require this whilst at camp, a first aider will supply it and keep a record on site.
Be ‘Tick Aware’
s part of the Wilderness Adventure camp we will be going into the forest and fields around site. It is possible that there are ticks in this area and we ask that students remain vigilant - wearing long trousers and long sleeved tops for activities Ticks can be active all year round, but they are not of medical concern in the UK. Most tick bites won‘t result in disease and they should not cause any pain. Occasionally there may be a red lump at the bite site.
Should a student be bitten by a tick, the staff on hand are trained to remove ticks and we will monitor all cases to ensure that there is no spread of infection (including Lyme Disease). Do not squeeze, crush or puncture the body of the tick, remove gently and then wash the skin and hands thoroughly with soap and water If a student becomes unwell, of if there is any concern we will contact parents and antibiotics may be sought
This will apply for all students taking part in the Wilderness Adventure - and any residential students taking part in activities in the woodlands.

At 17 30 we ask all parents to leave site whilst the students remain. We will keep them entertained and give them supper before our final FAREWELL PARTY which takes place from 19.00 - 21.30 at RHB.
Parents/Guardians of Day students are asked to collect students at 21.30 from the main reception

CAMPERS’ CODE OF CONDUCT
ALL CAMPERS MUST
1. Be respectful to all involved in the Camps.
2. Respect the timings and arrive punctually and prepared.
3 Respect the school property and keep it clean and tidy; especially your own rooms.
4 Not to use mobile phones during lessons or activities
5. Partake in alcohol, smoking, or any use of any kind of drugs; in or outside the campus.
6 Attend all meals (mealtime is compulsory)
7. All laundry should be named, placed in your laundry bag and left by your door on laundry collection day
8. If you have issues during the night, please ask the staff on duty to help you
9. Sign in and out when arriving/departing campus lessons and activities (we must know where you are at all times).
RESIDENTIAL CAMPERS
Campers aged 14 to 18 years old, may go unaccompanied to Wokingham Sainsburys, but must be with a group of THREE or more You must sign out with the Summer Camp Director and respect the return time; if you do not, you won’t be permitted to leave the Camp again When you return to campus, you must remember to check-in with the member of staff on duty.
Please understand that failure to follow this Code of Conduct could result in:
1. Loss of house points.
2. A formal meeting with one of the Camp Directors.
3 Your parents or guardians being called to discuss your behaviour
4. A suitable consequence decided by staff (e.g. loss of privileges).
5. Early discharge from Camp - particularly if your behaviour is hurtful to yourself, to others, or to Camp staff or property
