Salisbury has always been some kind of home. My brother and I have lived in and around here all of our lives. For my mother, its always been home. Her father and his three brothers owned a timber mill in a small village just outside of town. My father moved to Wilton - a small town a few miles out - straight after University. Originally from Birkenhead, he joined the rugby club and worked in an office where he’d go onto meet my mum. They’ve lived here ever since.

As far as cities go, I think Salisbury stretches the definition. The word “Smallsbury” is often heard here. Everyone seems to know everyone else in one way or another; it’s almost like a village in that way. Physically it doesn’t feel like a city either; a large town at a stretch.

This book explores my home.
