MARK FRASIER Head Coach Mark Frasier is a native of White County and played football throughout his youth. He played for WCHS from 1989 to1992 where he won multiple season All-District, All Mid-State honors, was team captain and team MVP. He walked on at the University of Tennessee as a free safety coached by Lovie Smith. In 1994, he played free safety for Carson Newman under head coach Ken Sparks who was 5th all-time in collegiate wins. After college, Frasier coached at WCHS under Jeff Arnette, and then was hired by Oconee County High School in Watkinsville, Georgia to coach defensive secondary, and later became defensive coordinator. His record at Oconee was 35-5 with one state title and three region championships. He was named Assistant Coach of the Year in 2000 and 2001 by the Georgia Athletic Coaches Association. Frasier also met his wife in Georgia, and decided to move back to his hometown of Sparta--returning to Warrior football several times as a volunteer under both Malone and Houser. In 2018, he led WCMS to the CTC conference championship game for the first time since 2014. Coach Frasier states, “There’s no other coaching job I would consider at this point in my life than coaching for my alma mater. This is my home, football is my passion, and I am eager to see these students grow as players and teammates. I’ve been blessed to work with so many amazing coaches and players over the years and I hope to be able to give back to my community what I’ve learned through my experiences. I hope that when these kids look back, they remember their football years in Sparta with the fondness that I do.” Coach Frasier and his wife Tricia have two children; Bray, a freshman at WCHS and Anna Kate, an 8th grader at WCMS.
GREGG SEGRAVES Assistant Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator/Quarterbacks Coach Segraves graduated from Lewis Cass High School in Walton, Indiana and was a three-sport athlete. After graduating college, he coached in Georgia for 30 years. After retiring, he chose to make Sparta home with his wife Tasha and daughter, Dreu, who will begin Woodland Park as a first grader this fall. Coach Segraves has been offensive, defensive, and special teams coordinator and a head coach through the years. His head coaching record was 50-25 and he was awarded region coach of the year while in Hart County, Georgia. “My biggest joy in teaching and coaching is to see or be a part of the success of these young men in their future endeavors. It’s a joy to see kids go off to college and have success at the next level in a sport and equally moving to see them become great husbands and fathers. I’ve been fortunate to continue to communicate with several former players and that is rewarding!”

CURTIS BEATY DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR Coach Beaty began coaching for the Warriors in June, 2017. He has also coached for Livingston Academy where he won district championships in both 2012 and 2014, and was district runner up in 2015. In 2014, he was awarded district 8AA Defensive Coach of the Year. He is the physical education teacher at WCHS. As a player, Coach Beaty won the 2005 State AAA football title at Livingston Academy. Also, in 2005 he was honored with 1st Team All-Region. “A great friend and coach of mine told me when I was 20 years old, ‘Curtis, football has given you a lot in life, you need to give some back.’ That’s when I really dove into the coaching world. I love football because I believe it is one of the only things that teaches boys how to be men through love, hard work, teamwork, adversity, and dedication along with other important lessons.” Coach Beaty’s wife Aria owns her own salon in Livingston. She and their niece Marley Shea never miss a game!
STEVE WILSON WIDE RECEIVERS Coach Steve Wilson was born in Chattanooga, but lived in various states growing up while his dad served in the Marine Corps. His family moved to White County when he was an eighth grader and he graduated from White County High School in 1986. He played baseball at Cumberland University and is currently an assistant principal at White County Middle school. Coach Wilson has coached football in Sparta for more than 20 years at the middle and high school levels and coached high school baseball for 13 years. His coaching and teaching philosophy is that “players and students don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.” Coach Wilson’s wife, Brenda, graduated from White County High where she was a varsity cheerleader and tennis player. She is currently a professor of journalism at Tennessee Tech and chair of the communication department. They have one daughter Megan, who also graduated from WCHS and is currently a junior at the University of Tennessee majoring in microbiology. Coach JJ has always been passionate about football and it shows though the relationships he’s developed with young people in this community. “I loved playing the game of football for many of the same reasons I love coaching it--discipline, comradery, and the devotion it takes to develop the brotherhood. I want the kids I coach to love the game the way I did. I also want them to be able to apply all these lessons in the game of life and to have memories that will last a lifetime.”
11

The foundations of brotherhood, commitment, discipline and hard work are what molds boys into leaders. My philosophy is God first, then family, school, THEN football.”

He has been married to Laura for 9 years and is the father to Mirra Grace (2) and Brock (10 months). Previously, Cary was the Senior Pastor at Risen Life Church in Melbourne, FL for five years. As they are new residents of Sparta, they have loved being a part of our community and are looking forward to serving White County for years to come. Cary is a HUGE LSU fan.
