Counting calories centers around energy balance. In this approach, you track the number of calories consumed versus the number of calories burned. The idea is simple: to lose weight, you must consume fewer calories than your body expends. This method gives you the flexibility to eat a wide variety of foods as long as you stay within your calorie limit. DIRECTIONS
Pit and chop the acerola cherries. Place them in a large mixing bowl.
Add the diced tomato, finely chopped red onion and jalapeño pepper to the bowl with the cherries.
Add the chopped cilantro, minced garlic, fresh lime juice and olive oil to the mixture.
Season the salsa with salt and pepper to taste. Adjust the seasoning according to your preference.
Gently mix all the ingredients together until well combined.
Cover the bowl and let the salsa sit in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
