What to see, do and where to play
Spend the weekend at Le Louvre
Yearning for a stroll through Le Louvre? Get clicking. The world’s most visited museum has put its entire collection online – yes, including the Mona Lisa. More than 482,000 works are available to view on the database, including sculptures from the Tuileries Garden and even pieces in storage or on loan to other French institutions. On the new website, browse the former palace with an interactive map and move from room to room to view collections. Best of all? It’s free.
Spoil your pooch
Move over, Soho House. London has a new exclusive hotel and member’s only club a stone’s throw from the West End, and it’s solely for your pooch. Urban Mutts is a luxury dog hotel and daycare in a league (breed, rather) of its own; with an onsite spa, grooming, fitness classes, and staff trained in acupuncture, massage and reiki. Pups can pop in for a few hours, a day or take an extended staycation.
Bourdain’s swan song
Anthony Bourdain’s stories of food and travel continue to delight with the beloved writer’s first posthumous book release. Bourdain started work on World Travel: An Irreverent Guide in 2018 and it was completed by Laurie Woolever, his co-author and longtime assistant. Released on April 20, it’s an illustrated collection of Bourdain’s favourite places to visit and dine with travel tips and restaurant recommendations, along with personal essays from those who knew him well.
