CONVERT YOUR ONE OFF DONORS TO REGULAR GIVERS

T

he IoF have combined a cross section of individual giving avenues and will be featuring them at our first Individual Giving conference in December. Topics will include Face to Face, Direct Marketing, CRM and Supporter Care.

Why attend? The conference will cover some of the biggest challenges posed to individual giving. Join today to learn how to: • Create a seamless customer journey • Work collaboratively across silos • Convert one off donors to regular givers Hear from sector professionals and corporate organisations sharing their learnings, enabling you to refine your fundraising to get ahead in a mostly saturated market place. “The difference from other conferences I have attended recently, we weren’t just told what we should be doing, we were given advice on HOW to do it. It was great to share experiences with so many other charities” Supporter Care Conference, 2013 “I learnt so much from the conference, and I am looking forward to informing my team” CRM & Donor Journey Conference, 2013 “Really well planned conference. Every session offered great ideas, advice and thoughts and I will certainly be taking a lot away with me to implement at my charity” Supporter Care Conference, 2013

Individual Giving Programme Monday 1st December

conference Programme 09.00 Registration and refreshments 09.30 Opening remarks from the Chair Danielle Atkinson, Head of Public Fundraising, Breast Cancer Campaign 09.50 Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go While charities do not have shareholders, they often respond to market pressures in similar ways to the private sector and regularly prefer to compete with each other instead of collaborating or consolidating – even when oversupply is clearly evident. The Duke of Edinburgh International Award Foundation shows how a sensible appetite for risk and the understanding that failure is simply part of a much bigger equation. How by doing this you could ensure you realise the sort of transformational aspirations that attracted you to the non-profit space in the first place. Alberto Lidji, Director of Development, The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation 10.30 What’s the right amount of money to spend on legacy fundraising? Legacies are about future income, so deciding what to spend now against other priorities has been a dilemma for all of us. One size doesn’t fit all but there are some approaches, tools and questions that you can use to establish whether you’re over or underspending. The most effective legacy charities create a blend from soft spend on culture to hard spend on marketing. In this session we will help you understand what this means in practice, what forms of legacy measurement & performance are available, what propositions can be used and how to get the right mix for you, so you can make the most of your charities legacy opportunity. 11.30 CHOOSE FROM ONE OF THREE TRACKS: Direct Marketing - Ready to transform your fundraising with behavioural science? With behavioural science at the top of the marketing agenda, this is a must-attend session for fundraisers who want practical tips to take the academic theory and translate it into real campaign success. Identify, understand and apply powerful, noncognitive principles to drive supporter behaviour at key moments in their relationship with your organisation. Hear how insights from international behavioural gurus like Cialdini, Nobel Prize winner Daniel Kahneman, and others, could transform performance of your communications - often by making just minor changes, to ‘nudge’ behaviour. Dr Kiki Koutmeridou, Behaviourial Scientist, instinctiv Supporter Care - Mid-level donors, why bother? This session will look at where to find mid-level donors, how to attract them, the benefits of creating sustainable mid-level programmes, converting donors from a transactional to philanthropic relationship, and avoiding the ‘donor abyss’. Samir Savant, Director of Development, Royal College of Music Face to Face - F2F at the RSPCA Face to face is considered a key recruitment channel for the RSPCA and is integral to our current Individual Giving strategy. In this session you will hear about the approach we have taken to optimise the programme and our key learnings to date. Norma Gerrard, Individual Giving Manager, RSPCA
