BRANDON JAMES From a young age I was introduced to alternative music by my family, we would be rocking out to my chemical romance and fall out boy on car journeys or just at home and I started to get more and more into the music and fashion of the genre. Fortunately, I come from a very accepting family who embrace and encourage our individual and strange ways. My mum has always let me change my hair, borrow her makeup and have piercings which has allowed me to express myself freely. I think fashion is what sets people apart and I love playing around with my look or altering clothes with patches and artwork. My style is not limited by gender typical clothing either and I have taken influence from many androgynous characters from the world of music, movies and fashion. Unfortunately my sense of dress and choices to use makeup has never gone down well amongst my peers and I suffered from bullying in and around school which lead to a really low level ofconfidence and self-esteem. For some time I have silently been curious about how fashion shows run or are put together but never pursued it. After a chance encounter helping a friend out with some photography, one of my photos struck a chord with my family and my uncle had a contact that he thought may be able to help.
That contact was Aleah Leigh and she offered to let me come to the Integrity Magazine Awards 2019 event to experience a fashion show from the inside. The fact that it was an alternative event interested me a lot and I was both excited and nervous as the event approached. On the day of the show, my nerves were quickly reduced as I was welcomed into the world of talented designers and awesome models with smiles, hugs and great conversation which is very different to how fashion shows are portrayed on TV. I was chosen to model a piece from Candice Maury and her Pimp Up range and when my turn came I did not hesitate. Being up there in front of a crowd gave me an incredible buzz. The biggest shock was yet to come as when the awards were being handed out, my name was called. Top Male Model 2019! I just came for the experience I had never imagined I could win something like this. This has given me a new found confidence in who I am and I couldn’t be more grateful. I loved the whole experience and would like to do it again if the opportunity arises, I’ve met some amazing and inspiring people that I hope to work with again.

SAMANTA BULLOCK Samanta Bullock, 40, was born in Brazil and moved to the UK - London ten years ago. Since then, she has dedicated her life to raising awareness of disability and improving the quality of life of other people, especially women and children with or without a disability. At the age of 14, she accidentally shot herself with her father’s shotgun, severing her spinal cord as well as damaging her liver and pancreas. For years she had to go through rehabilitation and physiotherapy to recuperate the strength to perform basic activities such as sitting up, moving from bed to chair and some daily care. However, the accident didn’t stop her from being active and she started focusing more on her life as an athlete and a model. She went onto become one of the best wheelchair tennis players in Brazil, competing internationally. Becoming a professional tennis player representing her country in three World Team Cups and winning a doubles silver medal at the 2007 Para Pan Am Games. Yet, her modelling dreams were cast aside after being rejected because of her disability. Samanta, remembered when she started working as a wheelchair model. It was 14 years ago when she used to go to agencies and they said ‘NO’ all the time. They kept closing their doors and telling her – ‘NO! You can’t be a model, you are a wheelchair user’. To overcome these barriers and to make a difference within the fashion industry, Samanta used her determination to follow her dreams and never gave up. She continuously tried to register with many agencies but with no success every time they told her no and kept insisting on the same excuses. However, this served as an energy motivation for her because it gave her the strength to fight for her dream, until one day they said yes! had decided to join forces with some of the most innovative designers to develop her own brand, ‘SB shop’. A unique clothing line based on the principle “It’s not about being disabled, but about feeling beautiful and comfortable whilst in the sitting position”. The collection was launched on 15th of June, 2019.

Since then, she had the opportunity to participate in many fashion weeks such as Dubai, London and New York. In addition, her passion for fashion was not an easy process. She has always felt frustrated by the lack of luxurious clothing available for people with disabilities. For this reason, she had decided to join forces with some of the most innovative designers to develop her own brand, ‘SB shop’. A unique clothing line based on the principle “It’s not about being disabled, but about feeling beautiful and comfortable whilst in the sitting position”. The collection was launched on 15th of June, 2019. Currently Samanta Bullock brand collaborates with eight designers: Rua Luja, AmaElla, London Organic Beauty, Caroline London, Peter Twiss, Gunda Hafner, Contessina London and BeKoffee. Working with these renowned designers, the brand could have a bigger impact in the fashion industry. The SB shop clothes are designed with disabled people in mind and help individuals with disabilities to dress more comfortably with a luxurious look. For instance, our dresses line was designed by Rua Luja and these were designed specifically for wheelchair users, people with other disabilities (less mobility) and dwarfism. The dresses all have stretchy properties so they are very comfortable if people spend long hours in a sitting position. This dress has been become quite popular with all our consumers, with or without disability. The SB shop also provides other pieces such as lingerie, trousers, jacket and tops, still keeping in mind the needs of customers with disabilities. Article written by Miss Prata. YOUTOPIA THE NEW FILM FROM LORENZO CARVELLI to cover the debt, Laura now devastated, changes her perspective. And like her daughter begins undressing in front of the screen.
SYNOPSIS Every day, seven billion people desire what they don't have. Ernesto, a 60 year old pharmacist who lives in an Italian city, is one of them. Ernesto is convinced that happiness consists in possessing, but despite having just about everything, is dissatisfied. Laura, a 44 year old lady who lives in a suburb of Rome imagined a glittering, serene TV reality future, but instead finds herself out of work, with a mortgage on the house she's no longer able to pay, and an 18 year old daughter, Matilde, who does not know anything. Matilde grew up with the idea that a future without debt is a remote prospect. She would like to buy clothes, counseled by her favorite blogger, go far away on holiday and imagine working at a job she likes...But she knows that this is impossible in the situation she finds herself. So she decides to strip naked in front of a webcam - the easiest and fastest way she's found to try and fulfill her desires. When she's not working, and to escape her claustrophobic reality, Matilde creates `Dancing" - her avatar/ character with which to navigate virtual reality, where in an 'endless flood of data' one can through a computer buy for pennies, clothes that they can't afford in real life. And there, in a world of infinite possibilities, among fantastic scenarios and situations that are only possible in a fictional universe, she -Matilde/Dancingmet Hiro, a pixel- friend, she confides in and who makes her feel good. Ernesto too, has a double life, pharmacy, chores with his wife and when free from commitments to his his son, Ernesto - hoping to regain a carefreeness he no longer possesses, perhaps because he really hasn't any idea what he's looking for - frequents prostitutes. As the pharmacist flip-flops between his routine and depressing family life and his eagerly anticipated night trysts, Laura, crushed by debt and at the risk of losing her home, reveals the situation to her daughter. Trying to help her mother resolve the financial problem, Matilde gives her the money she's accumulated, even revealing how she earned it. Their relationship is shattered forever. And as Matilde's money isn't enough -30-
The days pass... Ernesto behind his cloak of family man and his irreproachable, ever-more radical but less rewarding, transgressions... Laura drowning in alcohol the last remnants of her dignity and. Matilde finding vent in virtual reality. However, her escape gradually turns into a discovery: Hiro teaches Matilde that the world changes depending on how you look at it, depending on what you are looking for, and, while the relationship with her virtual friend becomes more intense, she begins to understands that there are other ways and new possibilities for her to be happy. Meanwhile the bank is pressing. The money from stripping isn't enough. With the loss of the house - a concrete and imminent possibility - the girl, with her mother's cynical, suffering and helpless consent, decides to auction off her virginity online . Ernesto, ever on the look-out for new experiences discovers the auction in the deep web. After twenty-four hours of courtship, erotic intrigue, thoughts, negotiations and bidding, Ernesto wins her. To him, she symbolizes, not only extreme transgression but also the idea of being able to buy purity. Finally Ernesto feels alive. He's charged up. The negotiations are rocky. Comes the day of the appointment. In anticipation of his payoff, Ernesto arrives early. Laura can't help hiding her disgust. Cloistered in her room, Matilde stares despondently at her computer. An icon tinkles on - it's Hiro who has a gift for Dancing. He's built a star. Called Youtopia, a virtual planet where one grows and weaves wishes and feelings that are true. A world that will be as they want. Distressed, Matilde, allows herself to be convinced and explore it for a few minutes. Hiro and Dancing begin dancing in their planet. Matilde cries. Smiles. In the living room, aggressive tensions are growing between Ernesto and Laura.
THE CORE Feeling the absence of the stars with a yearning desire to see them again! This is what, in ancient times, the verb 'desire' meant. Then something changed. Having been taught that desires could be bought, you stopped imagining new worlds and the stars became a fashionable pair of shoes or a new phone. Finally you could touch your dreams, own them, line them up on a shelf. Yet you weren't happy, something was wrong. You realized that every satisfied desire shatters like a falling star that loses its aura, crumbling into a crusty heap without nucleus. This is human nature. And this is how you conceived the story, transforming a galaxy of desires in a meteor storm. And this is the reality, but —Only if one hasn't the desire to change it.

MATTHEW MCMASTER I am an up and coming filmmaker, writer and actor from the picturesque town of Killyleagh, County Down, about 20 minutes’ drive from Belfast. I had taken a few years break from the industry to focus on my undergraduate degree but am now very much back in action with many projects in the pipeline ready to go! 2019 has been an incredibly busy year for me so far. My latest project is “The Harbour Rose”, a TV pilot episode for an exciting new proposed miniseries. We have filmed this last year and this year with only a small handful of crew consisting of associate producer Desmond Edwards and my co-cinematographers Caitlin Fitzsimmons and Tasha Henderson. I have directed it as well as edited it and worked as co-cinematographer alongside Caitlin and Tasha. We also have a dream cast working on this, with a mixture of up and coming actors and some experienced actors such as Mary Moulds and Syd Ralph. Particular mention should also go to my family at home and my two major supporters of the project across the Atlantic, Los Angeles based producer Leigh Carlson and New York City producer Lauren McCann who have been on hand throughout the project with advice and support, all of which I could not have done this without. The project has presented many challenges from the large scale of the story and the large number of cast members, however everyone has pulled together to make this work, and the hard work has well and truly paid off! “The Harbour Rose” is also my acting debut which has been a fantastic experience and I want to thank the brilliant cast I have had the privilege to act alongside, in particular a special mention should go to my co-lead Anna Tennyson whom I have spent the most screen-time with. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with Anna who has a very promising future ahead of her. I hope to work with her again very soon! 2019 has also seen me filming an anti-bullying campaign video for Aleah Leigh with my good friend Desmond Edwards which has been extremely rewarding in that we have been able to highlight a very important and prominent issue in our society. Next year is also shaping up to be a busy year with many projects in development ready to go, including co-directing “Nick”, a short film by Desmond Edwards, as well as collaboration with other local filmmakers which I am extremely excited about! To keep updated on “The Harbour Rose” check out the numerous pages we have online.

THE SPC13 TAKEOVER -NATASHA WALTON
At just 22, Alex Nikolatos (or Niko to his friends) has begun to build his empire from the bottom up. This venture made all the more impressive by juggling it with his final year at Durham University. Social Peach Collective (or SPC13) is Niko’s start up media company offering services from music video production to website building. Despite the company being less than a year old, Niko has already been recommended for a variety of projects and has accumulated a dedicated freelance work force to help him on shoots.
Determined to complete his Business Degree that he has been working hard towards for the last two years, Niko is taking on the tricky task of studying alongside running a business, but for anyone who knows him, there is no doubt that he will be able to achieve this. The commute between Durham and his shoots which are primarily in the South East may be taxing, but nothing is going to stop this savvy young man from achieving his dreams. SPC13 and Alex Nikolatos are definitely ones to watch and most certainly names to remember.
Through his impressive networking skills, Niko was able to secure a relationship with some London-based grime artists and was given the opportunity to prove his worth by producing a music video. It was clearly a success to everyone involved as a second video was offered, completed and loved even more than the first. Now, the third is on the not so distant horizon and Niko is carefully compiling his team and ideas to make this the best one yet. In a very different field, his most recent commission took him to a local rugby club to shoot an ad campaign for ScrumBum, the first rugby clothing brand designed specifically for women. Even though the rugby aspect of the project added an extra something special for him, Niko finds passion in everything he does. The creative flow is endless and the dedication to his craft and the needs of his customers is something to admire. MERCEDY PURCELL Mercedy is a Recording Soulful, POP and Spoken Word Artist & Song Writer from Manchester. Her debut single release was on the 5th of September. Her debut track is called "GONE" and is about Mercedy's friend "Katelyn Parker" who was cruelly killed 4 years ago. She was friends with Katelyn for 7 years. Mercedy wrote this song same year katelyn Parker died in away of trying to come to teams of the tragic lost of a very dear friend but wanted the influence of a top music producer to help her make the track special. She promised to write this song as a celebration of Katelyn's life and felt it would help put closure for her family, friends and herself. She chosen to make this her first song because she wanted to put closure to what happened and think of her in an uplifted way. While making this track in the studio she found this a very emotional time, although the track is about her friend, it became clear that other people would relate to this song to someone they lost themselves. It's very unusual to go in a studio for the first time and come out with amazing track, with great potential. After getting her vocal back on point, from it being nearly fully damaged by Musical Theatre, she went into a recording studio with Jorden Milnes and after her first attempt recording, she came out with a track, that got everybody in her team excited. Myself (Phillip Brown - Manager) and my Delphi Media team wanted Mercedy to work with a top music producer, such as: Jorden Milnes, to help get the best out of her, with it her first time in a recording studio. She has gained a very special working relationship with him also and between herself & Jorden they have written and produced amazing tracks, that many who have heard them believe they could be potential Hits. Mercedy also cast and directed her music video aswell, which involved multi award winning actors, Models and Top drum and bass DJ Delphi, who is a member of her team and created her dance remix to "Gone". The video was shot in a cocktail bar in Nottingham and was filmed by 7Gatemedia. Mercedy and actors, made the video very powerful because of their very high level of acting aswell as being a recording Artist, Mercedy is an actress and model also and
has appeared in great films naming "Eleven" as one. It was a great moment for Mercedy as an actress appearing at their premiere of "Eleven" at piccadilly in London. She was also in "Book of shadows" which is a spin off, of Game of Thorns, which she got the chance to work alongside stunt crew from Star Wars, Mission Impossible, Lord of the Rings to name a few and she will be appearing in many more films in the pipeline. Recently Mercedy as been took under the wing of well known actress Kay Purcell, who is now acting as her acting agent. Regarding modelling Mercedy is hugely experienced Model with many years working with top Industry Photographer’s and Designer’s, who has on numerous occasion’s appeared in the Fashion Show’s, Fashion Parades around the UK. She has also appeared on ITV on the New’s regarding Independent Fashion Designer week and also appeared on Channel 4, a reality Show. Over the recent years Mercedy has set up exclusive Charity Event’s such as: Modelling ”Group Shoot’s” and Fashion Show’s etc.. Which attracted many high profile Model’s that have appeared at these event’s, she has many more idea’s in the Pipeline as well. Over the three years of managing Mercedy, I found her to work extremely hard and use the team that I built around her to its full potential, which has helped her to build her knowledge of the music industry. Her work rate, is phenomenal and at times we have had to hold her back, because we dont want her to have any health issues, because another thing that makes Mercedy special, is that she works so incredibly hard and has a strong desire to succeed in life with her dreams and goals. Yet Mercedy has a heart condition (hole in her heart) & muscle waste disease. She doesn't let these problems get in the way of her achievements regardless of her struggles and Hope's what she does, will inspire other people with conditions or similar to her own to help them go for their dreams in life. Mercedy as over the past 3 years been working with "Strongbones children Charitable trust" to help spread awareness and funds for the charity, she has set up big events that have involved establishing models and recording Artists -36-
-that have involved establishing models and recording Artists plus entertainers that have come together and in doing so.. has raised sizeable somes of money and awareness for the charity. Mercedy has also expressed her interest in working with the "British Heart Foundation" but so far no ones come forward even though she reached out to them. Since the launch of the track "Gone" of the 5th of September, the track has become available to Download on all major platforms and the video is able to be viewed on YouTube and Vevo. The track is also being played on countless radio stations, world wide. She has even recieved emails expressing the success of the track, in country's such as south Africa. There is a big radio campaign in Uk, America, Australia and Europe. More stations are coming onboard every single day. Recently on Saturday the 7th was played on BBC introducing Nottingham, Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Lincolnshire, with rave reviews., with the host Dean Jackson was getting very excited about the track "Gone", two weeks of the track being on the playlist on BBC introducing, the track got track of the week, which is great achievement and the host Dean Jackson and his team have been praising and bigging the track. More things are happening with Mercedy every day as it's evolving. After bring in the industry for 15 years, I truly believe Mercedy is someone very special and with all that she has done so far, yet there is so much more still to come. Mercedy has been asked to sing in various festivals around the UK next year and there is also talks already of Mercedy's own concerts being set up in theatres also and she will be doing promotional performances and events. We are also looking for her to support some big name artists. On the current side of things Mercedy over the coming weeks and months will be having many radio interviews, appearing on TV show that will be announcing soon also will be performances being announced also soon.

Actress, Producer, Festival Director, but we also saw you have some very interesting hobbies like sailing...How do you find the time and energy to do everything? Good planning skills and even better last minute panic solving. Love is the fuel, together with a vegan diet. What projects are you working on at the moment? Acting-wise, I recently wrapped two shorts “Chameleon” and “Pie” and I’ve been cast in a feature to be filmed in January. I’m coproducing two feature films to be shot in 2020/2021 and a couple of short films. I’ll have the honour to be god-mother and host of the Italian London Film Festival on the 3rd of November. But first, I will participate to the Barcolana (the biggest regatta in the World)! And there is, of course, the London Rolling Film Festival. I’m organising the 10th edition and to celebrate this important goal, I decided to take the Festival on tour to 10 towns around the World. The London Rolling Film Festival “X Tour” will open in London in February 2020 and then will travel to various cities in Europe, USA, Russia, Australia, Sout-East Asia and Africa.
Do you prefer acting or producing? I “need” both. They are like my yin and yang. When I work as an actor, I share my vulnerability with the audience, when I am a producer, I am in charge of the making of the film, and I am back in control. Acting and producing challenge me on different levels and that’s probably why I love them both. As a woman do you find it more difficult to succeed in the industry? We Women surely have to work harder to prove our self-worth. Inspiring women in your life? My mum for the hard working and integrity. I’m very lucky to have so many women (and men) around me, who are doing an excellent job and who I see as a very positive influence on my path. One above all, Luisa Pretolani, who has been not only inspiring me with all that she does, but also for pushing me forward in my career.

JOHNNY JETSON Johnny Jetson is about to become your new best friend. His songs are raw, powerful and real, containing feelings you like to pretend you don’t have, recollections you would like to forget and temptations that up until now you have wisely avoided. A rock and roll songwriter, guitarist and singer, Johnny was raised in the suburbs of New York City. He was a young boy when he found a discarded beat up guitar in a trash bin and from that day began a lifetime love affair with the instrument. Now, four decades later, he has proven to be one of the most influential and committed rock and roll songwriters around. As a teenager in the 1980s Johnny began performing in clubs on New York City’s gritty lower east-side developing his signature sound, stage presence and survival skills. Relocating to Los Angeles in the early 1990s, Johnny arrived with only a guitar and a dream. Hard work, determination and chance meetings in the City of Angels established him as a fixture of the L.A. music scene. Johnny was infamous for his towering pompadour, vintage Cougar muscle car and ability to be at the wrong place at the right time. Forming Space Age Playboys with Warrior Soul frontman Kory Clarke quickly moved Jetson onto the national stage. The Space Age Playboys are noted as the first band in internet history to achieve the milestone of 100,000 downloads of a song while they topped the charts at MP3dotcom in 1999. Their success led to Johnny writing, playing, recording and partying with the likes of Steve Jones (Sex Pistols), Tommy Lee (Motley Crue), Chris Holmes (WASP), Snoop Dogg and eventually to fronting his own band, Tattooed Millionaires. The Tattooed Millionaires are recognized as the first unsigned band to reach the milestone of 1,000,000 streaming song plays while they rode the wave of early Myspace success. Recognized for his skill of self promotion Jetson was called a “Marketing Genius” by retired Interscope Records VP of A&R Tony Ferguson. It was Johnny who explained to Motley Crue’s Nikki Sixx and to rapper Snoop Dogg just what an MP3 was and encouraged them to embrace the digital revolution and sign onto MP3dotcom as the sites first big name artists. At the height of their popularity, Johnny’s band Tattooed Millionaires was selling thousands of albums per month, touring the US in their own private motor coach and heading to Europe to play alongside some of the biggest names in the music business. Sharing stages with the likes of Metallica, Motorhead, Monster Magnet, Backyard Babies and Hardcore Superstar, Johnny has proven again and again that he can hold his own with the best of them.

Recently relocating to Minneapolis, Johnny has quickly established himself as a pillar of the rock and roll community with the band Speed City Vipers. His newest projects are the soon to be released Speed City Vipers debut album and his second solo album entitled ‘Make Your Move’. Songs from these albums have been compared to Marc Bolan’s TRex and Alice Cooper, proving that Johnny is growing both as a musician and storyteller. A lifetime of love for classic sounds and catchy hooks, Johnny Jetson mixes musicianship and live performance like no other. Paying his dues in local, regional and national bands for years, his sound and live shows excite audiences of all ages. Simply put, Johnny is an outstanding contributor to the world of rock and roll... and best of all he is your new best friend!
“The once and future Tattooed Millionaires frontman Johnny Jetson returns with this snarly glam-punk gang. Jetson’s trick is to wrap his decadent, sleazy diatribes around pop hooks so good you can’t escape ‘em. Next thing you know you’re naked in an alley somewhere. He’s a charmer for sure.” - Classic Rock Magazine, May 2019 Issue 26

BRENDAN CLEARY When you see Brendan Cleary, what immediately comes to mind? Standing at 5’10’’, the Englishman packs a heavy punch whilst taking the reins of the rugby pitch. The last thing you’d expect to come from his chest are dulcet tones and incredibly catchy melodies. Brendan is a 23 year old singer/songwriter who’s career has seen him write and gig across the UK and Europe. Moving to London at the age of 18, Brendan has spent time honing his craft in both Ireland and the Lake District, where his home was always filled with the likes of The Beatles, The Eagles, Simon & Garfunkel and James Taylor, all of whom he cites as big inspirations for his musical style. Since moving to the capital, Brendan worked tirelessly to improve his stature as a music artist and songwriter; enrolling on to BIMM London’s Songwriting course, joining the infamous London gig circuit and enjoying regular airplay on BBC Introducing and local independent radio stations. One of his promoters in London has been quoted as saying: “He offers a wide variety of thoughtful and well-written original music that sparks emotion in the audience” as well as “Everything he does is believable and makes you really want to listen to what he is saying”. Brendan has supported acts like David Gray, Paddy Casey and Brian Kennedy to name a few. His time in Ireland has been invaluable to him as a singer/songwriter. It is clear in his music how influenced he has been by the Irish music scene. Brendan has also worked with songwriters from; Alice Merton, Wideboys, Graham Henderson (Sinead O’Connor), Belen Arjona (Latin Grammy nominee), the TMS production team to writing for ‘Media set’, which reinforces his diversity as a Songwriter. Brendan’s recent moderate success comes off the back of top line features on Tim Van Werd’s ‘Your love’ and ‘Oblivion’. You can expect a lot more great and original top lines coming from Brendan this year!

GYPSY THE NEW ALBUM FROM MICHAEL ARMSTRONG The first couple of verses of ‘Gypsy’ is a true story. I was standing outside the Houses of Parliament and I was approached by a gypsy selling ‘lucky’ heather. I didn’t have any money to give her (I’m a musician after all), and I wasn’t in the best of moods. She was extremely persistent despite my protestations and eventually she grabbed my face and cursed me. I’m not a believer in such things, but I can’t deny that for the rest of the day the whole scenario was playing on my mind. When I got home that evening, I wrote this song. I guess that was my curse, which I now pass on to you….
Critics and fans alike have rated the latest album 5 stars without exception. “This is a constantly impressive collection on which, while wearing his influences very much on his sleeve, he nevertheless establishes his own mark on the material. It’s quality fare throughout, skilfully delivered.” - ***** RnR Magazine
“Sharp, harmonious and lyrically spellbinding, this is music delivered by a proper musician who takes chances while paying homage to a golden past in songwriting.” - Lesley-Ann Jones (Sunday Times Bestselling Author of Bohemian Rhapsody)
“This album is quite simply a masterpiece!” - *****Amazon “It’s unusual and very refreshing to hear a newer artist making music of this ilk. I thought those days were long gone but I’m glad I was wrong!” - *****Amazon
“I don’t usually buy albums from artists I know little about but what can I say? I am flabbergasted. I really love this album and am listening again whilst I write this review!” - *****Amazon
“I enjoyed every track. This is up there with the big boys and more established artists – he really brings his musical talents to the fore and makes every track a pleasure.” - *****Amazon www.michaelarmstrongmusic.co.uk For CD copies, interview and performance requests please contact LISA DAVIES Tel: 01737 362444, Mobile: 07770 328232 -49-

TRICEY R Tricey.R. is setting the stage alight across the UK and with many saying she could be the one to fill the space of performance royalty, our eyes and ears are in for a real treat! She keeps it clean, classy, cool and although humble by nature, she still oozes an attractive confidence. This rising star has it all, and she is not afraid to share it with us. Tricey.R. is a singer/songwriter /producer and a full-on performer. The young R&B and Pop songstress grew up in South London and found her love for music at an early age. Growing up in a musical household with her father being a musician, she found inspiration in different rhythms and melodies, which would later allow her to blossom into the brilliant artist that she is today. Before making her own music, Tricey.R. started off dancing to Michael Jackson at the age of 7. She later began writing poetry and this soon after developed into songwriting, singing and music production. With her influences stemming from the likes of Michael & Janet Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Mariah Carey, & Barry Manilow to name a few, she has developed her own style that is adored by many. Tricey’s sound is reminiscent of the R&B that we love from the 90s, but yet she keeps it current. The Commercial Music graduate has always immersed herself in all elements of music creation and with her great love for production, encourages for there to be more female music producers on the music scene. Tricey.R. has graced many stages over the past couple of years, with one of those most recently being Live Nation’s “The Ends Festival 2019” - Croydon’s brandnew major music festival. Tricey.R. who has been likened by many to the late, great Aaliyah, is truly in a league of her own and with every performance she wows crowds with her unique voice, energetic dance moves and true entertainer showmanship. Tricey.R.’s highly anticipated EP will be released this fall, and her current single ‘TONITE’ is available now on all major music platforms. Tricey is managed by: Henryson Oladipo Balogun.
PETE BRAZIER Pete Brazier aka The original Zombie is a multi instrumentalist songwriting music producer from Cambridge England. Working from his award winning music facility Vertical Rooms nestling in the gorgeous Cambridgeshire countryside. Pete has a worked with, alongside and for some of the biggest names in contemporary music with a career spanning over 20 years. Originally training beside Bond composer David Arnold. Pete went on to ink a deal with the then Managing Director of Warner Chappell Robin Godfrey-Cass and served a stint as an artist producer signing a deal with Simon Cowell during his time at Arista Records with stable mates Notorious BIG, Foreigner and more. As the millennium turned Pete had written and produced an album called Skill for his genre bending alternative act Kawala with old school friend Terry Mynott, they went on to have a small top 40 hit, tour with Faithless and signed to Zomba Records. Pete says ‘I believe you get progression from bending the rules in music. When I turned in a record which appeared to have Tom Baker rapping and Darth Vader singing a love song I am not sure Zomba knew how to handle it and although live support, press and radio support was amazing we could see they didn’t get it, so in time we launched our own label with imprints for releases that didn’t fit the mould and everything grew from there’. After the band separated Terry went on to have his own channel 4 TV series ‘The mimic’. The Original Zombie stepped up the pace again bravely re-writing Dolly Parton’s Jolene, with her full permission and turning the message of the story on its head - which attracted some serious heat from the Nashville country scene and for 7 years Pete worked extensively with some of the best labels from the country music capital, resting only to make the ‘Get A Life’ album for Car-core heroes ZombieboynKennym. Zombieboy and Kenny keen to retain independence went on to dodge all the major label deals offered and remained an Indie label act – ten years on we now have The Sleaford Mods riding a very similar sonic wave. ‘Always bend the rules’ says Pete, thats where we find progression. So whats next for the Cambridge Based musical troublemaker? A full on rap album with U.K. urban underground legend R.T.Brook is just

ALICE BIZARRE I used to say to myself “What is the point in living unless you are doing what you love”. Of course as you get older, you realise life isn’t all about pleasures but I would like to share with you some of mine. I am Alice Bizarre and I am a special effects makeup artist. I had dabbled only a little in makeup before I enrolled onto a year long Theatrical Makeup course in Bristol , aged 18. Hell, I couldn’t apply foundation previously let alone body paint or even dream of creature work. After freelancing for a year (more like... working for free day and night to build my portfolio) I went to University do to a Model Design course specializing in Character Creation and Technical Effects. To put it simply, a course about film props. My practice includes various forms of sculpting, polycarving, working with silicone, clay, plaster, fibre glass and resin. With an affinity for masks, I also enjoy moulding and casting props and prosthetic pieces as well as hand shaping plastic costumes. Due to the range of these crafts, my client base is... varied to say the least! From film set building, fetish photoshoots and music video work to bridal makeup, lifecasting and even painting children’s toys in little workshops. I often find my work takes the beautiful and makes it into something different, whether that is merely leading someone outside of their comfort zone with makeup or incorporating more horrifying and twisted themes. I also create gore style strip shows based around my love of horror films, a perfect way to entwine my sfx work and my desire to perform and seduce. I am currently working on a number of new ventures and projects including writing for Devolution Magaizne as their resident makeup and film nerd, collaborating with photographer and photo historian Molly Caenwyn and working in my new studio on a few secret pieces yet to be announced. It has been difficult to find my way back into my passions after having a child, but the love and urge to grow as an artist is burning deeper and louder than it ever has before.

My life has been turbulent but rewarding if not my giving hands then the unique vibes I seem to get in return. I am not only Team Robbo but part of a Dutch graffiti cru DLC Painter for life cru. Also important souls being Tom at the Pad plus Billy at Kath Lee’s MS artshop. I remember when I first met Aleah it was awesome, painting your precious ladys and spraying you your very own mural as a modeling background, we were all just growing and how we all have come so far. I must say only thing I lack is the business bite, I’m crap at running business and as an artist struggle immensely but it’s all fkn good. Maybe oneday those management doors will open and exploit my cool but very crazy little ass to a higher financial realm? All I can do is fall into the right hands and “pray” the Gods are on my side or at least those funky little alien shits that just watch over it all and giggle. So to my amazing family and to all those who helped me grow, massive fkn loves. Oh I forgot to mention I love curry.

REBECCA JACKSON How one new mum is finding the best ways to balance work and home life It’s hard enough to find a balance between home and work but when you’ve got seven-month-old twins, a home to run and a career in the fickle media industry, it can be even more of a challenge to feel you are doing the right thing. But new mum Rebecca Jackson is taking it in her stride, so much so that’s she’s now looking forward to what comes next… Watching Rebecca enjoy her time as a new mum, picking up soft toys and wiping down the remnants of breakfast, highlights how much has changed in the last 12 months. The TV presenter and racing driver took a step back from the limelight to focus on her children’s first few months and feels for her, it was the best move she has made. “Initially, I thought I’d be back at work after a three months but when that time came, I actually decided to make changes in the way I work to be able to have more time with the children,” says Rebecca. “More employers are embracing flexibility. It’s worth asking what’s possible as employers want the best people and are prepared to make things work. The world is changing, and we can be a mum and work.” Flexible Approach One such example was Rebecca’s recent appearance on the Jeremy Vine Show on Radio 2. “I just asked if it was OK to have the baby monitor nearby whilst we were on air,” says Rebecca. “I was really impressed at how the BBC was so flexible.” It’s not just in the media world that Rebecca has felt a change in attitudes. “I’m working with Motor Easy, an organisation that helps people maintain and repair their car. It has been fantastic with how we work together and finding ways for me as a new mum to show how its service could work for other parents.” Positive Mindset Having started her career by setting up a car sales business and then making waves in the male oriented world of motorsport, she has often faced doubters. “I’m a firm believer in maintaining a positive mindset and outlook on life. Don’t let other people’s negative attitude bring you down.” Digging deeper into how she faced this, Rebecca offers candid advice.
“Whatever you are planning to do, say a new business or even overcoming a fear or challenge, set some mini objectives. I would write down everything that I’d achieved and read it aloud.” Changing Routines Being able to work and spend time with the children has seen Rebecca completely change her routine. “I was very fortunate that my twins got into a sleep pattern early on, before they were four months old, and that has made such a difference. I also decided to work in the evenings. A bit less time to binge on Netflix but it’s worth it.” Fitness One other aspect that Rebecca advocates was fitness. “I found that getting back to fitness gave me the energy to cope with the longer days. It’s hard to drag yourself out and do exercise, but I found it was totally worth it and I could really feel the benefit.” With full on days, it’s hard to find time to according to Rebecca, the babies form a part of the routine. “I only exercise with the babies and it’s never hard. You don’t need to train alone or at a gym once babies arrive if you don’t want to. They are the weights! I’ve even done tricep training with twin girl as she loves it.” An advocate for getting out and about Rebecca walks for at least an hour a day. “I walk very fast when then are asleep in the pram or fancy some high speed ‘pramming’. And remember the workout increases daily as their weights do!” How Technology Helps Help has also come in the shape of technology as Rebecca’s phone continues to buzz as we chat. “I’ve always made use of my phone to run my businesses and keep my diary in shape. Social media is an important part of the work I do with brand partners such as making videos for Morris Lubricants or the M6 Toll but since having the twins, I uncovered a whole new world of apps for new parents. For example, Hoop, what’s on for kids, is amazing because it gives recommended age ranges. Even things like the Reading Thai Festival was totally baby sensory galore. You don’t have to just rely on classes for baby sensory and music. My babies love people, live music and gives you a precise location on a map with only three words rather than grid references.”
Sensory.” Other apps can provide reassurance that new parents crave. Rebecca rates the British Red Cross First Aid app because ‘it’s best to have it and not need it’ and suggests offering close family members the chance to go on a baby first aid course. In a similar vein, Rebecca suggests having the what3words app. “If you do need emergency services, this gives you a precise location on a map with only three words rather than grid references.” Using tech can help around childcare too. Rebecca has found Baby Daybook to be great if more than one person is looking after your baby/ies. “You can record when they last had teething relief for example and avoid giving too much.” Another must have for Rebecca is the Elvie breast pump app. “I can see how much and for how long I have pumped, that’s reassuring.” Technology has helped with keeping the family close too. “I’ve found that as time becomes more precious using tools such as WhatsApp to keep in touch or just sending my mum a little video of what we are up to works well for me,” says Rebecca. “I have created a few WhatsApp groups to share multiple images and videos as it’s more time efficient. Even my dad sends me lots more messages than he used to because he has propelled himself into this century by using WhatsApp! We’ve always been close as a family, but I feel we are even closer now. It’s easy to forget that if you don’t live near family, they don’t get to see the kids changing. They really treasure receiving those little moments, even if they are on a screen. And they can replay them, share them. It’s a simple way to spread a little joy!” The Future Looking to the future, what’s in store for the petrolhead? With time short, she is cautious about her commitments and is an advocate of thinking carefully before committing to anything. “I have to pick the right things to do with my time. I need to work to bring up my children and am looking at ideas that offer the flexibility. I’ve got plans for some audiobooks and the brands that I work with as an ambassador such as MotorEasy are brilliant and I will continue to work with them and Morris Lubricants. The most important thing is to be the best mum I can be!”

Sunny Go Wild create bespoke interactive experiences for a range of mediums and gaming platforms. In this article, writer and co-founder Bex Betton, discusses Sunny Go Wild’s latest project which combines interactive theatre with gameplay.

SUNNY GO WILD -BEXBETTON Sunny Go Wild was formed in January of this year to work together on a map drawing treasure hunt game for Amazon’s Alexa. My co-founder Steve Sparkes and I are both passionate in aiming towards innovative experiences for our players, and our diverse skill set across games development, arts and theatre is the backbone of our work. For our latest project, we wanted to energise interactive theatre with gameplay to create a performance which is influenced by the decisions of our audience. ‘Stori Byw Peredur’ is a Welsh Language theatre show for children that we performed at the National Eisteddfod of Wales. The production revitalises a traditional Welsh tale from the Mabinogion and sends the audience on a quest with the main character, Peredur, to complete challenges in order to become a knight. Armed with only a triangle from King Arthur and cookies from Peredur’s mum, the children are encouraged to use creative solutions to overcome their encounters with dragons, witches and a giant. The children can only use each item once, leaving at least one task to be solved with improvisation. We performed outdoors at the festival and our actor, Lorna Prichard, beautifully adapted the show to the North Wales landscape, even referring to the surrounding trees as the giant’s broccoli! The interactive performance became a lively display of hilarious storytelling, puppetry and Welsh culture. Our eight days of performances in Llanrwst began with ice-lollies and sun cream yet in typical Welsh-style, our week ended early with flood warnings and welly boots! We had a magical experience at the festival and it was a pleasure to encourage and witness the fantastic imagination of our young audience. Sunny Go Wild is always up for working or collaborating on more real-world games. We also love to work with both traditional, and innovative digital platforms such as Amazon’s Alexa. Our inbox is always open!

“I have the BEST job in the world. Putting it simply....... I take my writers dreams...... and do ALL in my power to make them a reality
JOHN SAUNDERSON ‘After 15 happy years, Notting Hill Music’s Head of A&R is moving on to pastures new. John started his career as a DJ in the the West Midlands over 40 years ago. He was quickly snapped up by DMC (Disco Mix Club) to be their Promotions Manager. This was run by ex Radio Luxembourg DJ Tony Prince and his wife Christine. John went on to become General Manager. He was involved in the early Mix Mag, Record Label, Management and the mighty DMC/Technics World DJ Championships.
John is also responsible for the HUGELY successful Networking Events at Tileyard, Kings Cross. This night takes place every 2 months and attracts about 1000 singer/songwriters, producers, artists, record labels, publishers, managers, agents, promotors. We also provide a stage to host about 15 live bands on the night. Giving young, up & coming talent a platform to perform in front of the industry.
Fast forward 25 years he was headhunted to work for a great music publisher, Notting Hill Music. JS says “I was extremely happy at DMC and loved Tony, Christine, Susan and all of the staff there but it was time for a change”
John says
John was responsible for over 120 writers world wide and gives them at least 5 or 6 songwriting opportunities a WEEK. He has organised huge songwriting camps all over the world including UK, Nashville, LA, Norway, Denmark, Berlin, Amsterdam and even Kingston Jamaica. He mentors members of The Songwriting Academy which is run by Martin Sutton and recently was proud to be a mentor on a songwriting retreat run by TSA in an 800 year old village in the Andalusian hills of Spain. John also presents masterclasses to the likes of LIPA in Liverpool, Reading College, ACM, OUTPUT in Belfast and Tileyard Education. John says “I am never happier than when I’m mentoring and advising up and coming singer/songwriters. It makes me incredibly proud to see writers grow in stature and craft their skills to become successful in their chosen field” John’s biggest signing to Notting Hill Music was Dizzee Rascal who went on the have 6 No. 1 songs. He even appeared as ‘speedo man’ in the ‘Holiday’ video which has more than 9,000,000 views on you tube (mainly from him!!). The NHM catalogue is VAST, Almost 30,000 songs and 350 top 75 hits from world wide stars like Dizzee, Will Smith, Beyonce, Pussy Cat Dolls, Britney, Coolio, Shalamar, Whispers, Paul Weller and The Three Degrees to mention but a few.
“I wanted to create an event that would benefit my writers. Somewhere to meet likeminded people. To network and collaborate. Some writers get stuck in their own little bubble. It’s so important to burst the bubble and invite other writers to join you” I will always be grateful to Dave Loader and Andy McQueen for the love and support over the last 15 years. ESPECIALLY during my life threatening Cancer last year. I sincerely hope we can continue to work together on various projects...... AND having a few glasses of Rosé at the same time. John is now working as Head of Publishing & Management at Ostereo Publishing & Management. http://www.ostereo.com/ “I’m thrilled to take on this new challenge. I’m still based at Tileyard and I’m looking forward to building up an incredible roster of singer/songwriters, artists and DJ’s”

YASMINE RAGGETT I am a self taught Face & Body Painter and Creative Makeup Artist from Surrey, England. I am an all round creative with experience in Special effects (SFX), Model Photography, Design & Promo. As well as Semi permanent Tattoos and most recently branching into permanent Tattooing.
Art is also a platform in it’s own right. It’s a common interest, similar in its differences, that gives me the chance to connect with like minded individuals of whom I may never of met if it weren’t for coming together for Art.
I am now also able to add ‘Award Winning ‘ to my Title! Thanks to the Integrity Awards 2019, where I walked away with 2 awards. Best Body Artist 2019 & Best MUA 2019.
I love meeting new people and reconnecting with the talented souls I already know. No day is the same in my job. Creativity is a fundamental part of my very being, without it I would lose a sense of purpose, a sense of me. I think it’s extremely important for us to express our individuality and that is why I create.
My creative journey started when I was very small. I’ve always been into the arts. As a child I would draw, write, paint and create. I’ve always been passionate about music too.
“I love what I do and I do what I love”!
I’ve found art to be my escape and creativity my voice. From a young age I was studying Calligraphy and sketching out my dreams. I enjoyed writing too when I was young and went on to write a piece of poetry for the NSPCC as a teenager. However in later years I started to take an interest in alternative fashion and began designing anything from Tattoos to Clothing, Interior to digital. I studied Art & Design in college alongside raising my eldest son, my prodigy. Then on my path led me to who I am today, a mother to another and running my own business ‘FabaDooz Creations by Yasmin’. My youngest son is now 5 and a budding creator himself. Everything I do has my children at the core. They are my ultimate inspiration. I regularly talk with them about designs and take on board their ideas, some of my Body Paint designs have been taken straight from their imaginations I believe that is what Art is about, coming together and creating. It also gives us the opportunity to really express ourselves. I’ve never really fit into one box and I don’t think anyone should have to.
“diversity is a beautiful thing”.

PAULA CLARK - M.U.A I love what I do. In fact, I think I can honestly say that I have the best job in the world. I have a flexible, interesting lifestyle and no two jobs are the same. I meet fascinating people from all around the world and from all walks of life. Working with different platforms such as fashion, editorials, music, television, media, speaking events, weddings, tutorials, workshops, portfolios and headshots, provides me with a rainbow spectrum of people and their lives. I have been working with make up for over four years, but didn’t choose it as a career until March 2018. For the first six months, I worked in fashion and editorials and in that time, my work appeared in one Surrey magazine and two international magazines, one of which made the front cover. I soon realised I had a bit of a talent and feel very blessed to have found a career that is also a passion and incredibly enjoyable. This year, I attended two international events as a make up artist. The first was at Cannes Film Festival for Miss Film Festival International as their Make up Artist, in collaboration with a Dutch television show. Write up on my international work made the World Press News, which was very humbling since it was less than a year since commencing my career. After that, a collaboration with the international designer Iris Rodriguez, took me to Alicante to work on her fashion show. There are other future international projects in the pipeline with respected photographers, which is extremely exciting. he real joy of what I do, is to use make up to bring out the natural beauty that exists in all of us. I love to experiment and go avant-garde and a bit crazy too and have some interesting work coming up. I choose to use mainly vegan and toxic free make up as the bulk of my products. I find make up that doesn’t have toxic chemicals or mineral oils, are kinder to the models skin and less likely to cause skin or allergic reactions. This comes from having a daughter who is coeliac.
All in all, I love my job!

I have now been in this industry for near on 19 years. I started my Journey back in 1997 at Mid Warwickshire College Royal Leamington spa. There was no courses near to me that offered purely make up so I trained as a hairdresser which also included beauty, make up and wig work. On completion of my course I trained in a local hairdressers who often did photo shoots and bridal work which is where I gained a keen interest in photography work. I also helped do some local student films and helped with the hair and make up. Back in the 90s we had no Internet or easy access to production companies so had to write letters and send CVs.You had to do a lot of legwork in order to build up your contact list. I was always looking in the back of make up books for addresses of make up manufacturers, wholesalers and production companies. I also carried around with me a small portfolio, for any opportunity that was given to me to show my work. I knew back then that I always wanted to work within TV and film and was starting to enhance my skill sets and work with new products. I had my first child in 2000 and was able to continue with hairdressing as well as make up and beauty work. My second child came along soon after the first and I had to put that career on hold to bring up my family. I still kept my hand in the industry and regularly did hair and make up for local companies. For a short period of time I had to work in an office but I soon realised I couldn’t sustain this life and had to be back doing the career I had set my path on. I did lose some confidence and knew I had to re-train so went back to college and completed more courses. Makeup has been my passion since a very early age having wanting to design a make up brand that was inclusive For all to use. Particularly those with visual impairment and learning difficulties. This is still a dream for me which I am wanting to pursue. I completed a masterclass at the Birmingham repertoire several years ago where we were introduced to inspiring make up artists, master craftsman particularly with prosthetic work. This ignited my passion and want to be back full-time in this amazing industry. I have worked tirelessly to master my craft and the amazing thing about this industry is that there is always something new to learn.

About 4 years ago my mother, MUA Jane Charlotte, started working with many photographers, designers, magazines and doing catwalk events, which is when I became involved with modelling. JOSHUA STEPHENS My name is Joshua Stephens, I turned 23 as of the 1st August and I’ve always had a love for fashion, wearing nicest and newest clothes and shoes just makes me feel great and happy. I’ve been modeling for about a year now so it’s still a bit fresh. I was on was on Instagram and I got messaged by an Agency (TMA) to come in for a casting and I thought why not, I went in for the casting had no idea what to expect so just went in and was just myself, I got along with the photographer and staff and we collected a range of great pictures, they must have liked me because from then they asked me to join them and sent out my portfolio and I was contacted by more agencies and people who wanted to work with me which surprised me. Modelling is a path I would really like to go down because then I will be introduced to a vast range of styles which I could possibly incorporate in to my own, try out the new brand ideas and have the honor of being a body to advertise such designs, to be able to meet and network with amazing designers, photographers, videographers, stylists and more would be amazing. What I would really like to do as well is go international and travel around the world doing this. I’ve recently had my first fashion show which was the 2019 Integrity Awards where I had a great time and met the most amazing and talented models and designers, while taking part in the fashion show I managed to win an award for best online model.
I would like to give a special thanks to all the people that have been helping and supporting me on my journey, to Aleah Leigh for inviting me to the fashion show to help with her designs, Jason Benjamin for helping me find work and always being in my corner, my Friends and Family who’ve been pushing me to pursue this career and carry on working hard and giving 100% to any work I get the chance to partake in.

ROBERT MEADER PHOTOGRAPHY My name is Robert Meader, my photography story begins in the middle 80’s. I got into photography as a hobby and I enjoyed taking photos of unusual sights and objects and then people. I received quite a few compliments on my photos so I rented some premises and opened my first studio. It was in the outskirts of London and not a prime location. After a year I opened another shop in Waltham Cross with a colleague and we became very successful. It was at the time of The Mutant Ninja Turtles and we had a man dressed as one of the Turtles, Michelangelo. We had Parents with their children wanting to be photographed with Michelangelo. The queue was outside the door and down the street. This was the day of film in the camera, not digital, so we took the photos, ran them down to the shop in the precinct who developed them in an hour and the parents came back to collect them later in the day. Everyone was happy.
Over the next year, I helped her in various ways within her business, especially in the admin side of things. Aleah invited me to almost every event she was going to including some abroad, some I could go to and some I could not. About this time, I made my foray back into the world of Photography and purchased myself a new camera. I bought a Nikon D5200 with a couple of lens’. I was now in the world of digital photography. Aleah invited me to Newry and I took my camera for the first time and after the event, Aleah was pleased with the results, she did not know about my past as a photographer. Since then, I have been to many, many events with and for Aleah and I call myself, as well as Robert Meader Photography, Dragon lady Productions Photographer. I have been to Edinburgh, Paris, Madrid, Cannes (twice) and a lot of other venues and events with Aleah. I also attend other events on my own and do a lot of work with Animal Charities, like No To Dog Meat, Paws To Rescue and Save The Whale events. These are great causes and very worthy. That was the re birth of my photographic career and it is still going strong, all thanks to my best friend, Aleah Leigh.
We had a couple of models that we regularly photographed in the studio and they went on to various events and shows and that was the start of my foray into the world of fashion photography. In my home studio, I also had my own darkroom, where I developed my own film and processed my own photos. One of my favourite mediums was black and white. Ilford film and developing paper was expensive but worth it. Some of my best times was spent in my darkroom experimenting with colours and shades. Happy times indeed. I began again about 10 years ago by just photographing friends’ parties and events and going out and about taking scenic photographs and lots of buildings and sailing ships, which I still like to do. Then there was the most important change in my photography life, I met Aleah Leigh. A mutual model friend at a Proud Gallery event in London suggested I look Aleah up. I messaged her on Facebook and she invited me to Paddington Arts for a pre carnival show. We hit it off immediately, we became firm friends and she invited me to event after event including the carnival that year, that I helped her on two days.

Kabiria Boys & Girls Music and Art Program Derrick Omala music and art program is a project under the initiative known as Kabiria boys and girls I founded the program back in 2010 in NAIROBI city in Kenya, Africa to assist children grow their talent and give them an opportunity to tell their story through these activities. Nairobi is Kenya’s capital city. In addition to its urban core with a population of 3.134 million, the city has Nairobi National Park, a large game reserve known for breeding endangered black rhinos and home to giraffes, zebras and lions. Next to it is a well-regarded elephant orphanage operated by the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. Nairobi is also often used as a jumping-off point for safari trips elsewhere in Kenya. I spot the Children I work with from community schools and work together with three female teachers to train the children Art, music, health and life skills education. All this is self sponsored. I being alumni of the KENYAN BOYS CHOIR used my music experience to train the children on music and different art work that would later on sustain our daily activities from bottles decoration, Rap music, bead making, and recycling various Items IE used calendars to make artwork. I use earnings from making videos and music production MTOTOWAPHARAOH production to sustain the program. I also organize fundraisers. To raise money to organize activities for the children who are part of the program. Life is so beautiful. God presents us with this gift of life not to suffer from what we can have as our right (to grow our talent). Nurturing great leaders in future. When I see the children happy I am hopeful of a bright future. Early this year we started the music program for boys and girls and the response has been so overwhelming. Kabiria Boys and Kabiria Girls as the stage names represent the community where the children come from. And I opened doors for kids from all parts of the world for this program in April 2019. Under this program any child can have a song with us or do art with us from where they are, it was very exciting. This is how it works if a child from any country has talent in music and wants to sing with us HE/SHE can contact us through their parent and we first send them an instrumental

and a theme or topic to sing on. I also help in writing the lyrics if they have difficulty in writing on the topic afterwards they record the child with a phone singing and send us the vocal. Once we receive the vocals we enjoin that with what our children have sang and we now have a song done by different artists from different countries but sing on one topic. Through Cariad Cairns I did a song with his son Keenan Cairns from Wales which was encouraging to her son according to the response she gave. We now open up to also work with youths and young people Wales; Aliyaahs music (a girl from Wales) on YouTube is a success story to us and I am happy that she did her first song with Kabiria Boys and mtototwapharaoh. Her mum Donna Aquilina was very happy and she even offered to open an account to have our music be distributed on spotify, iTunes and other world music platforms am grateful to her .Another youth we are hoping to enjoin from Wales is Mickey Anthony a very talented guy. Getting our Music and Art out there has been be a great challenge as nowadays it’s not easy to get promoters to promote your content and put it out there. I have 8 boys and 8 girls, they attend school together in one school and that make it easy for my team of trainers and I schedule training hours for the children. Our best art days are Friday and Saturday we write music together. On Sunday we have dancing sessions. Our YouTube (Kabiria Boys) has since grown to 1100 subscribers I remember this day, one of the boys DOGO EZEE asked his club mate Capela and I to go with him to a nearby college school and He asked students passing by to go subscribe and watch. It was funny moment. The girls were much into art they started their music recently and they YouTube count is only few months old (Kabiria Girls) they did one song and could do more due to financial constrain. They are writing songs and hopefully to have their album out soon as well I am lacking enough logistical needs to do more for the children our the center we used to occupy as our music studio and art center was shut down do to payments Now we operate in open space and community fields and these conditions are difficult to record music or store our artwork
I am hopeful of a better tomorrow, I believe in mutual efforts, Unity and support because all children’s from all tribes from all parts of the world need most of all. Together we will fulfill our duty of cherishing every human life. Written By Derrick Omala Founder Kabiria Boys and Girls Music and Art Program.
ACTRESS TO RELEASE DEBUT CHILDRENS STORY IN AID OF DIABETES CHARITY. November 14 is both World Diabetes Day, and the day north-east actress-playwright, Jade Byrne, releases her debut children’s book, Daisy Donald. Best-known for appearances in television dramas such as Inspector George Gently, Casualty and Mount Pleasant, the past couple of years have seen the 34-year-old touring her biographical stage play, Pricks. Now she’s taken to writing books instead of plays to increase the promotion of Type 1 Diabetes, Jade celebrates her thirtieth dia-versary this month, and, with the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) having recently announced her as one of their celebrity ambassadors, she is honoured to continue flying their flag. Illustrated by Darlington’s Hayley Smith the book will see a pound from each sale donated to the JDRF, they launch Daisy Donald in line with their upcoming superhero campaign.
“I’m an ambassador for the charity and what they do, raising money to help find a cure for Type 1,” said Jade.
That is where Daisy Donald, the superhero child comes into the picture. Always wanting to write books, Jade’s first offering is expected to help increase awareness of Type 1 through the power of words, and incredible illustrations. “I’ve written a children’s book because I’ve met a lot of people throughout my life, and more recently in the Type 1 Diabetes world, of a lack of understanding and also learnt from those that it’s not their fault that they’re ignorant to what Type 1 is. “It’s actually because they’ve not been taught about it. “That’s why I made my show, Pricks, initially because if you’re going to teach people, you need to start from the bottom up. “If you learn from a young age then you can start passing it down the generations as well.” Jade Byrne’s debut children’s book ‘Daisy Donald’ will be released on November 14, World Diabetes Day. Further information will be available via either https://www.prickstheplay.co.uk/ and https://www.facebook.com/PricksPlay/
“They’ve done so much already with regards artificial pancreas and other advances in Type 1 technology, and all the other research they’ve done. “Although a little charity, the work they’ve done is incredible, phenomenal really, and I want to support them. “I’ll always keep supporting and flying the flag for them.” -101-
