WElcome Over the last five years that we have edited the Journal of Curatorial Studies, the Intellect team has demonstrated extraordinary encouragement and support. Every individual has been consistently pleasant, open to dialogue, and constructive when dealing with challenges. Intellect has secured a reputation as a dynamic and creative catalyst for innovative and adventurous scholarship. It is extremely gratifying to contribute to its exciting range of journals and books, and to see new publishing initiatives grow amongst a broad international readership and global distribution network.

Jennifer Fisher and Jim Drobnick Editors, Journal of Curatorial Studies

In performing arts, Journal of Interdisciplinary Voice Studies discusses voice as a phenomenon of communication and performance, while Studies in Costume & Performance brings together topics on costume, scenography, performance, fashion and curation. We are also delighted to announce the new cultural studies journal Queer Studies in Media & Popular Culture, which explores topics at the intersection of media, popular culture and queerness in gender/sexuality, while in visual arts, we offer two new titles: International Journal of Food Design, the first academic journal devoted to this appetizing topic, and Drawing: Research, Theory, Practice, which complements our existing new journals on illustration and contemporary painting. We are also pleased to announce that from this year, all our customers in South and Central America, as well as Mexico and the Caribbean, will be able to use US dollars instead of sterling when purchasing journals. If you are based in these regions, please use the dollar prices quoted in the catalogue, with postage rates for ‘Rest of Americas’. Please order from our distributor Turpin’s US office.

Studies in Costume & Performance encourages, generates and disseminates critical discourse on costume and the relationship between costume and performance. It considers costume as a symbiotic articulation of the body of the performer, which is visual, material, temporal and performative. Whether performed live, seen through the camera lens or found in an archive, costume embodies and reflects the performance itself.
