Tips Reconfiguration Tool Configura’s Reconfiguration Tool is a separate, free Utility Extension that provides an easy way to manage product inventories and reconfigurations of complex facilities. The Reconfiguration Tool uses simple graphical representations, in flow-chart form, which let you: ❯ Compare existing products in new projects lists in order to generate reused, leftover and new product lists ❯ Track which products are warehoused or installed in which locations ❯ Create different reconfiguration scenarios in order to optimize the reuse of existing products
❯ Prioritize the pulling of products from specific already-installed projects or warehouses ❯ Retain an accurate, historical record of product inventory data in a single, accessible and easily updatable database The Reconfguration Tool can use both .cmdrw files or .sif files in the comparison. Alternatives and filtered Article Views can also be used in the Reconfiguration comparison.

Meet Laura Nieto, CET Designer User
Tom Koenig, Employee of the Month
Laura Nieto is an architecture student who recently joined South American furniture maker Solinoff. She works for the company’s drawing team in its Bogota, Colombia, office.
Designers certainly appreciate aesthetics. So do programmers. In fact, ask any software developer and he or she will likely tell you there is a certain beauty in the way code is strung together.
Laura started using Solinoff’s CET Designer Extension about three months ago. She attended webinars and chats with Configura’s Support and Training team to get up to speed on the tool. “Configura’s CET Designer support is excellent, very efficient and helpful,” Laura said. “The manuals are also a great tool to learn about CET Designer. The program is very easy to learn and use.” She loves that she can quickly draw projects and generate and edit renderings. “I can make wonderful images with lots of different effects,” she said. She says her coworkers are amazed at the speed with which she creates renderings in CET Designer. Even more important, customers are very satisfied “because they can see an approximation of the real thing,” she said. She is in her seventh semester in an architecture program at Gran Colombia University. “I love architecture as much as I love photography, design, music, theater, art and travel,” she said.
Configura software developer Tom Koenig appreciates the simplicity, elegance and power of the programming language and coding behind CET Designer. “I love that we strive to make everything as simple as possible. Other software seems to have been made with a focus on power or simplicity, but rarely both. Most software sacrifices one for the other, but we always try to make CET Designer more powerful without adding complexity,” Tom said. Tom’s been with Configura for three years. He likes that it’s a software company founded and run by software designers. He’s had the opportunity to work on site with some of Configura’s manufacturer-partners and end-users, where he has seen firsthand how the software is used. Tom holds a degree in computer science from Ohio University. He was born and raised in southwest Ohio and moved to West Michigan to start his career with Configura. One of his hobbies is working on electronics. He’s modifying an old arcade cabinet and plans to build a custom arcade machine.
