Exel brand was founded in 1960 by three chemists that began to manufacture electronic detonators for explosives. The name Exel drives from the company ’s origin, explosive electronics.

Composite products were introduced in 1970. Since, we have been one of the foremost Finnish sports equipment manufactures.

In 1973 we started the production of cross-country poles and 1976 Innsbruck olympic games were the breakthrough for Exel cross-country poles. The rest is golden history. To this day Exel is known for it’s pioneering spirit that has led to innovations, shaping the sports as we know it.

We combine innovative technology with functional design to create unparalleled line of products that keep contonually evolving to ensure uncompromised customer satisfaction in outdoor sports.
