GNG is responding to demand for more environmentally friendly products

With continuing demand from consumers and retailers for more environmentally friendly products, GNG has added to its Komfi collection which features its unique Ecofoam, designed to give greater sustainability and recycling benefits.

Developed in-house by GNG, Ecofoam is made from 100% recycled and re-engineered foam, resulting in a product with a reduced carbon footprint. When an Ecofoam mattress reaches the end of its natural life, it can be entirely recycled.

‘Given our long heritage in British mattress manufacturing, together with the strength of our experienced in-house R&D team, we are in an excellent position to innovate and develop products that specifically meet market needs. The concern for sustainability is gathering momentum across all sectors and the credentials of Ecofoam put us at the forefront of meeting this demand,’ says Richard Gretton, GNG commercial director.

‘With many models in our popular Komfi range featuring Ecofoam, we’ve built on this success, combined with our strong track record as an approved supplier to the NHS, to launch the KomfiMed range, which delivers the environmental benefits of Ecofoam along with the health benefits of medically proven foam with TrueGel technology. KomfiMed delivers excellent pressure relief while minimising motion transfer and regulating temperature to provide a peaceful night’s sleep. An industry-first, the range is already causing lots of interest.

‘Other benefits include Ecofoam’s resilience and durability, as well as being naturally dust mite resistant and offering body support. Featuring throughout the NBF Approved collection, the mattresses also have a 10-year warranty.’

Engineered for enhanced support, the range is designed to provide excellent spinal alignment and relieve stress on joints. It offers a supportive sleep surface while conforming to the body’s contours. The range is available in soft, medium and firm options.

Many products in the Komfi Unity range have recently achieved Crib 5 (Ignition Source 5) accreditation, making them suitable for the contract market. Following rigorous testing, these models have passed UK Fire Regulations 1988 and are now categorised as Crib 5 Medium Hazard in line with BS7177. Tel: 01924 950 300
