Five star
The brands on offer to upmarket hotel residents have been expanded
Living Divani has become the latest brand to join the roster of names at the five-star Peninsula Hotel Beijing’s Peninsula Arcade.
The space is part of almost 43,000sqft operated by Domus Tiandi at the heart of the hotel, alongside Kartell, Henge, Baxter, Poliform, Minotti, Promemoria, Giorgetti and Salvatori.
At the entrance, the visitors are welcomed by an Extrasoft composition in Cuoietto, visual icon of the brand. This modular sofa, characterised by an informal appearance and soft, cosy and malleable comfort, is surrounded by Tethys satellite C tables with marble top and aluminum trays.
Ideal for an intimate self-care corner, the Pebble desk is accompanied by the Nina stool.
In a more functional zone, characterised by a fluid and casual elegance capable of ranging from indoor to outdoor, the sculptural shapes of the Wedge table, inspired by the lightness of an origami, are combined with a mix of seats: from the woven mini Tombolo that reproduces the Cafè armchair with an original greige tubular decoration, to the Rivulet chairs, to the essential and passe partout Maja D, up to the George’s featuring a waxed rope.
In the dining room, which can also be used as an operational and working area, Living Divani proposes a version of the Notes table inspired by Chinese conviviality. Without renouncing to the essential silhouette, the top in different materials and the dynamism of the legs, the Notes table is displayed together with the elegant Era chair. The dialogue between the gunmetal grey painted structure, the backrest and upholstered fabric seat highlights the silhouette, which is so subtle as to appear bold. Notes is completed with a ‘lazy Susan’, inviting sharing and socialisation
The Islands offers an elegant freestanding storage opportunity, accessible on various sides through a perimeter of rotating slats. The Galileo mirror, an object in constant equilibrium, is ready to swing to reflect the world in its many facets, while the Ceiba coat hanger by Luis Arrivillaga is a dance of slender structures moving around a central pivot that close and reopen, revealing different points of view and methods of use.
The Floyd-Hi bed stands out within the sleeping area. Like the sofa of the same name, it is characterised by the large soft cushions that rest on the lower headboard, creating a pleasant play of heights, joints and textures. It is surrounded by the Track bench in leather, the Moon cylindrical bedside table in charcoal-dyed oak and the Era Comodino with front and sides proposed in the White Cream lacquered finishing. The Era Scrittoio with graphic lines and refined combinations of material and colour completes the setting. The wooden top, the Quartz Grey lacquered front and sides, the gunmetal grey tubular steel structure and contrasting brass foot are a harmonious composition in the space. The George’s chair has been chosen in the Light version to highlight the graphics of the painted steel structure. The elimination of the superfluous distinguishes the Materica table lamp, a sculpture object that captures a fleeting intuition as a result of free creativity.
In the second living area the protagonist is the Floyd-Hi 2 System modular sofa, characterised by the armrest set between the backrest and the seat that delicately bends. This upholstery family allows the creation of fluid and reassuring shapes in space to the desired composition, combined with the Tethys tables. Ideal for a moment of relaxation, the area is completed by the traditional Confident armchairs, whose rounded, enveloping lines perfectly integrate to furnish even contract spaces with personality.
The Aero B bar cabinet shares the same lightness as its namesake bookcase, concealing a storage space enclosed by shutter doors that slide along the entire perimeter, in a lively alternation of full and empty spaces.
In the final living area, the livable shapes of the Dumas sofa are combined with the Greene family, raised on a thin foot, where the external shell, structured but soft, welcomes large cushions. The Era table together with the Flap coffee tables enrich the versatility of the environment. The latter, when opened, reveal a functional unit to be used as required. Leaning on the wall, the Grek Box storage units owe their design to the rigor of the thin aluminum sheets.
On the wall parades a Light pair, with a table lamp characterised by a graphic and essential silhouette. The Sailor bookcase separates the rooms visually without interrupting the view: the airy lightness of the hexagonal posts contrasts with the tighter rhythm of the slender shelves, in a play of chiaroscuro and craftmanship.
The flatweave rugs of the Kumo and the Sin Titulo collections trace captivating graphic patterns on the floor. Meanwhile, the small sculptures of the Styling collection, with their archetypal and contemporary silhouette, embellish tables, consoles and bookcases. Visit: www.livingdivani.it
