Attendu
BRED by the Wertheimer family, Attendu carried the famous blue and white silks to victory in Group races at two, three and four years of age before retiring to stud at the magnificent Haras du Quesnay.
Successful in the Group 3 Prix de la Rochette over 7f at two, he ended that season with a close third place in the Group 1 Criterium International de Saint Cloud.
At three he added a second Group success to his resumé winning the 7f Prix de Palais-Royal (G3) at Deauville. Returning to the track as a four-year-old he won the Group 3 Prix Quincey over a mile and was placed in four more Group 3 contests.
As a son of Acclamation and out of a mare by the Wertheimer’s champion miler Green Tune, Attendu offers a blend of pace and strong French genes to breeders.
His dam Gwenseb won four times at two and three with her biggest success gained in the Group 3 Prix du Bois. She was also third in the Group 2 Prix du Robert Papin.
In addition to Attendu she has produced three further black-type winners, including the Group 2 Prix du Sandringham and Prix Daniel Wildenstein winner Impassible (Invincible Spirit), Spotify (Redoute’s Choice), who won the Group 3 Dubai Millennium Stakes and was fourth in the Poule d’Essai des Poulains (G1), and the Listed winner and Group 3 second Foreign Tune, also by Invincible Spirit.
Also on the page is the Group 1 winner and sire Will Dancer, by Green Tune’s sire and the Wertheimer’s champion sire, Green Dancer.
Attendu’s first crop of 33 foals includes a filly who sold for €240,000 in utero at the 2018 Arqana December Breeding Stock Sale.
Now named Warning Sign, she is out of the Nayef mare Modestie, who is a half-sister to the Group 3 winners Gold Waki and Golden Valentine. More significantly, Modestie’s dam, the Group 3 winner Gold Round, is a Caerleon half-sister to the outstanding Goldikova, the Group 1 winner Galikova, the Group 2 winner and Attendu’s fellow Haras du Quesnay sire Anodin, and the Group 3 winner Gold Sound, who is by Green Tune.
