DIVINE PROPHET combines two of Australia’s most potent sirelines – Danehill and Encosta De Lago, as he is a son of Choisir out of a daughter of Encosta De Lago.

Winner of the Group 1 Caulfield Guineas over a mile at three, Divine Prophet was third in the Group 1 Champagne Stakes over the same trip as a two-year-old. He was also placed in the 7f Group 1 Golden Rose Stakes at three.

His full-brother Proisir didn’t manage to win a Group 1 on the track – he won the Group 3 Spring Stakes and was second in the Group 1 Randwick Guineas and Spring Champion Stakes – but he is already a Group 1 sire in New Zealand. He stands at Rich Hill Stud and is the sire of three Group 1 performers, including the second and third-placed fillies in the 2020 New Zealand Oaks, a performance that helped him secure the title as leading second-crop sire ahead of Charm Spirit.

Divine Prophet shuttled to Tara Stud for the 2018 breeding season where he covered 55 mares.

Tullogher House Stud consigned his toppriced foal at the Goffs November Foal Sale, a half-brother to eight winners including the Listed Royal Windsor and Paradise Stakes winner Ocean Tempest, who was also third in the Group 3 Superior Mile.

Yeomanstown Stud bought the secondmost expensive Divine Prophet foal in the same sale, a colt out of Ready’s Legend. She is a winning daughter of More Than Ready from an international family that includes Grade 1 winners Dangerous Midge and Scorpion.

Divine Prophet’s only northern-hemisphere book so far included Clytha, the dam of 2020’s Grade 1 Frank E Kilroe Mile winner River Boyne, who was bred by Tara Stud. She produced a halfsister to the multiple graded stakes winner.

In his native Australia, Divine Prophet’s yearlings were very popular with buyers at the elite sales – his average for the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale was A$205,909 with a top price of A$375,000 for a half-brother to the Group 3-placed La Tigeresa.

At the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale, his most expensive offspring was a colt out of a High Chaparral half-sister to Hong Kong Listed winner Planet Ruler, who made A$150,000.

His fee for the upcoming breeding season at Aquis Farm’s Hunter Valley base is A$22,000 plus GST.
