Change Process Management and Work Environment Attitude of Elementary School Teachers Relydia C. Banlasan Southwestern University, Cebu City,Department Of Education, Digos City, Philippines Abstract: The purpose of this study was to determine the significance of the influence of change management process to the work environment attitude of public school teachers. This study also aimed to establish the significant relationship between the two variables of the study: change management process and work environment attitude. This study utilized the non-experimental quantitative research design utilizing descriptive-correlational technique which included one hundred five teachers in Digos City Division. Utilizing Pearson-r, this study found out that the indicators of change management process and work environment attitude of teachers are significantly correlated. Using regression, the analysis shows that when the indicators of change management process were regressed on the work attitude of teachers, the change management process had significantly influence on the work attitude of teachers. The following indicators of change management process have the highest domain: unfreezing stage, unfrozen stage, and refreezing stage.

which would hinder the success of the organization. Burnett (2003) added that change resistance is a great problem. In the Philippines, school administrators and teachers are very passive in terms of clinging into the idea of changing oneself for the benefit of the organization (Andres, 1999). The natural reaction to change, even in the best circumstances, is to resist. The top obstacle to successful change is employee resistance at all levels In the Division Digos City, particularly Ramon Magsaysay Central Elementary School, Digos Oriental District, the attitude of teachers towards personal change is not that visible. Thus, there was a need to revisit the attitudes and change management process of the teachers in relation to implement change in the organization. This study was deemed vital since it facilitates change process management of teachers. Henceforth, the researcher prompted to conduct this study.

2. Problem Statement

1. Introduction Individual attitudes toward organizational change emerge as one of the most pervasive factors in individual resistance to processes of change. This resistance to change appears to account, in turn, for failure in such change processes. Organizational change will succeed to the extent that individuals in the organization, themselves change. Change management requires understanding how individuals change since organizational change is based on changes in each employee (Bacal, 2001). In the international context, the problem on change process has long been a major concern of school since school administrators and teachers have in their mind to resist changes (Mowday, 2000). Resistance to change seems to be of great concerns in the school of Canada and other European school

The data of this study described the change process management and the work environment attitudes of teachers. Likewise, it is also correlational because the study determines whether the two variables have significant relationship. The study was conducted in Ramon Magaysay Central Elementary School Digos City Division. This includes 110 teachers as respondents of the study.

The fair level indicates that most of the items regarding organizational commitment of teachers are sometimes manifested. The cited overall mean score was the result obtained based on the mean scores from the following indicators of change process management of the respondents: unfreezing stage, unfrozen stage, and refreezing stage. The cited overall mean score was the result obtained based on the mean scores of the indicators of work environment attitudes which are the following: enthusiasm towards the technology and anxiety towards the technology. Correlation between Change Process Management and Work Environment Attitudes of Teachers Based from the results of test of relationship between variables involved in the study, it could be gleaned that there is a significant relationship between work change process management and work environment attitudes of teachers. The null hypothesis which states that there is no significant relationship between change process management and work environment attitudes of teachers is rejected.
