PARENT EVENT ES, MS, HS Parent Coffee: Standards Based Reporting On Wednesday, May 17 at 8:30AM the elementary division is hosting a parent coffee about Standards Based Reporting, an ongoing initiative from our strategic plan. In the coming 2017-18 school year, there will be changes to report cards in the elementary school and an increase in feedback to students and parents. We are going to use this parent coffee to start talking about what those changes are at the elementary division. There will also be representatives from middle and high school to be there to share information about how changes at the elementary division will be integrated and supported as students transition to middle and high school. While the changes impact next year’s K-5 elementary students, this coffee is open to all ISP parents. If you are interested in learning more about this initiative, we encourage you to attend. We look forward to seeing you at this event.

ART MEETS TECH at the PK 3 and 4 Art Show!
This morning I had the pleasure of attending the PK Art Show. While I was looking around at all the beautiful pieces of art, I noticed some QR Codes next to some of the expositions. To my absolute delight I realized that once the code was scanned you could see video and pictures of the student creating their pieces of art. As Principal Mrs. Garcia explains “This is part of delivering on our curriculum teaching and learning goals. We wanted to make the learning these students experienced visible. So the students were encouraged to document the creative process with help from their teachers. Creating video and pictures to show what they learned during the creative process. From the initial idea to the final design, those visiting the PK art show can truly appreciate all the work these students put in to creating these unique pieces of art. Beyond being wonderfully creative, the resulting exposition is itself a visual representation of the learning done this semester ”

Day of Design was an Incredible Day! A huge congratulations to the entire elementary division for the incredible things that they created during our annual Day of Design. From PK to 5th grade, our students turned our everyday trash into incredible games and complex machines. The enthusiasm was palpable throughout the building as students went through the engineering process and practiced their problem-solving and collaboration skills. Well done to everybody involved. ISP is an incredible place to be!

Student Information In the next month our elementary team will work on student placements for classes for next year. While we do not accept parent requests for teachers, we always invite parents to share information about their children to help us with our placement process. This year we are doing this process electronically. If you want to share information with us, please complete this survey. Thank you for your time.
