So-Cal Taco Bells to Hire Security Guard Companies Orange County

Earlier this year Taco Bell confirmed rumors that the franchise would begin to sell alcohol at select locations. The first Taco Bell to start selling alcohol is in Wicker Park, a suburb of Chicago. Amid concerns raised by community members, the Taco Bell in Wicker Park agreed to have security guards present. With Southern California Taco Bell restaurants set to serve alcohol soon, they’re following suit and relying on security guard companies Orange County.

Later this month, the fast-food restaurant will premiere an extended menu, complete with alcoholic beverages—such as beer, wine, and frozen mixed drinks—and appetizers exclusive to the Wicker Park location. Debuting the new menu didn’t come without its challenges, however. Residents of the Chicago neighborhood voiced their concerns, and with their concerns came restrictions. The Mexican cuisine inspired franchise agreed to comply, and as a result, security guards have been added to the Taco Bell staff. In addition to placing a guard at the door, alcohol will only be served from 9 p.m. to midnight Thursday through Saturday. On Sunday through Wednesday, the restaurant will stop selling alcohol at 10 p.m. That is not to say that Taco Bell will not continue their regular hours, however. You can still come in for fourth meal.

Alcoholic beverages cannot leave the restaurant’s premises, and the franchise will only staff worker’s over the age of 21 who have been completed the necessary training to serve alcohol. To help prevent underage drinking, alcoholic drinks will be served in a distinct cup to differentiate it from nonalcoholic beverages.

Despite the restrictions, the operator of the Wicker Park Taco Bell assures that the franchise is receiving positive feedback from the community. The president of the Wicker Park Committee says that the organization is welcoming of the redesigned Taco Bell.

As Taco Bell restaurants in San Francisco and Southern California prepare for the new menu, all eyes are on the Wicker Park location. Southern California Taco Bell operators are looking into security guard companies Orange County to prepare for any restrictions.
