Meet Our Young Leaders Alumni Panel VANESSA WILKINS Alumna 2009, Digital Product Manager & Team Leader - Suncorp Mobile App at Suncorp Group. Winner of the 2012 National Emerging Talent Award and nominee for the 2013 National Continuous Improvement and Innovation Award for Suncorp Bank, Vanessa is recognised as an actionoriented eCommerce & digital manager. JOSE GATO Alumnus 2011, Digital Marketing & Business Development Specialist. Fantasea Cruising. Jose specialises in emerging trends and technologies, including big data analytics, artificial intelligence, and automation. He has worked on marketing campaigns for Tourism & Events Queensland/Australia, BHP, Australian Red Cross and Commonwealth Bank. Jose has advised not-for-profits such as the Australian Cervical Cancer Foundation and is a co-founder of Project Amigos, a youth mentoring initiative between Centacare Queensland and UQ. w: josegato.com
ZOË BLACK Alumna 2003, Co-Founder & CEO | Happy Paws Happy Hearts Ltd. Zoë uses her diverse experience in strategic planning, operations management, and community engagement to oversee Happy Paws Happy Hearts – a social enterprise which supports both people and animals experiencing isolation. Zoë has become highly regarded in the not-forprofit and social enterprise space. JOSS DOUGLAS Alumnus 2008, IH Foundation Board Director. Joss took degrees in Law and Arts, majoring in Political Science and Economics, from UQ. He lived at IH for the first three years of his studies, and spent an additional year studying on exchange at Stockholm University, Sweden. Joss worked in the legal profession for 6 years. While working in private practice, he enrolled in a MBA by correspondence which he completed last year. Since graduating from his MBA, Joss has worked at BHP as a strategist. ACADEMIC AWARDS Housies celebrated the announcement of academic awards at a Bara Khana dinner. The dining hall was dazzling like a Bollywood movie set, decorated in vibrant colours, and rich with the wafting aroma of Eastern spice. During the evening awards were presented to Housies achieving a GPA 6+ and IH is proud of the outstanding academic success of our residents. The Semester 1, 2018 prize for best overall Tower GPA went to ... B Tower on 5.69. While in the battle of the IH sexes, the women won for the 5th year running in the highest GPA average.
