#IGROWSOYBEANS What are growers saying about NorthStar Genetics soybeans? “The first thing that comes to mind when I think of NorthStar Genetics is early maturing soybeans. NorthStar has a commitment to putting products in our area that will work for us in terms of early maturity and adaptability for our area.” “We look at other traits such as standability, pod height, and yield potential as well. We feel NorthStar has competitive varieties with respect to all those categories.” Dan Visser – Fort Saskatchewan, AB

ON THE RISE IN 2019! Welcome, and thank you for supporting NorthStar Genetics. We are very excited for the 2019 growing season. Across Western Canada, interest in soybeans and corn continues to rise and so does interest in NorthStar Genetics. Soybeans and corn are great choices for farmers. Having these crops in your rotation creates huge value ranging from disease management, herbicide rotation, and higher yields. Diversifying your rotation brings built-in weather and commodity price risk management. Quite simply put, soybeans and corn offer a good return on investment. NorthStar Genetics is proud to help more and more farmers across Western Canada capture these benefits. We are thrilled to offer the earliest maturing and most complete lineup of soybean varieties in the industry. Our very early maturity corn hybrid is being complemented with a hybrid for the Red River Valley. I encourage everyone to come check out NorthStar Genetics in trials and fields, and ask your neighbours and our team about our new and high-performing products. We want happy customers. Our commitment is to earn your business with top genetics, strong agronomic advice, and superior customer service. We will deliver top genetics through our knowledgeable, passionate team that is eager to make you happy. On behalf of the NorthStar Genetics team, thank you for your business. DEMONSTRATION HEADING PLOTS Our portfolio of soybean genetics offers growers more depth and breadth than any other out there. At NorthStar Genetics only the top-performing lines are commercialized. All NorthStar Genetics branded products are demonstrated to our dealers and growers through our demonstration plots and field-scale trials. The data from both of these test programs will be recorded and posted on our website.

DEMONSTRATION SITES

All of our commercial soybean varieties and corn hybrids are planted in small-scale plots, often replicated, by our own staff with our own equipment. Additionally, we plant a host of “competitor” varieties so you can see how we stack up to the competition.

FIELD-SCALE TRIAL PROGRAM

To help growers determine how a variety will perform under their local conditions, NorthStar Genetics will provide several units of seed to plant in side-by-side strip plots against other soybean varieties. Planted and harvested with field-scale equipment, this provides growers and NorthStar Genetics with field-scale yield comparisons. Growers and dealers are welcome to tour our demonstration sites anytime throughout the growing season. Contact your NorthStar Genetics District Sales Manager for more information. To view yield data and field notes go to www.northstargenetics.com.

It outlasts, outperforms and out-yields. Are you in?

#IGROWSOYBEANS What are growers saying about NorthStar Genetics soybeans? “The first thing I think of when I hear NorthStar Genetics is that they offer many good varieties which are well suited for our farm and growing area, and growing conditions.” “I’m very excited about NorthStar’s current variety lineup. They have a wide range of choices with the maturity ratings, which gives us a great opportunity to manage our harvesting risk by using short, medium, and long-season varieties to spread out our harvest.” Jeremy Calder – Carlowrie, MB

Farmers who purchase corn products that are not designated as RIB Complete® required to plant a refuge that is appropriate for that product. As part of the IRM plan for RIB Complete corn, experts recommend that growers incorporate crop rotations (out of corn), use of pyramided traits for below ground pests and, when appropriate, use of insecticides to minimize selection of resistant populations. Farmers should monitor their RIB Complete corn fields for targeted insect pests and contact their local Monsanto representative, retailer, or Monsanto’s Technical Support line at 1.800.667.4944 if they observe any unusual performance problems.
