DEAR NORTHSTAR GENETICS CUSTOMER, I want to start with a huge THANK YOU to all NorthStar Genetics seed customers in Western Canada. You have set a new acreage record for soybeans planted and are establishing soybeans as a new successful and permanent crop. You have done a fantastic job in adopting the RR2Y technology platform, which has set a new standard for yield and performance in the field. Even more encouraging, soybean prices are at record highs! And by all indications, soybean yields have proven to be very satisfactory to outstanding despite the excessive heat and limited late summer rain fall. Soybeans are truly a durable crop capable of handling our varied weather conditions on the Prairies. I am extremely optimistic for next year. In addition to the complete line of top performing RR2Y varieties we introduced last year, which includes NSC Anola RR2Y, NSC Libau RR2Y, NSC Elie RR2Y, NSC Balmoral RR2Y, and NSC Richer RR2Y, we will be introducing several new lines that will be of interest to you for specific situations. • NSC Reston RR2Y – this line will be one of the earliest, if not THE earliest maturing RR2Y line available. It shows as a tall stature for its maturity with tremendous pod set. It will be a winner for the short season areas in the North and the West. • Liberty Link – we will be offering the only Liberty Link soybean variety in Western Canada. The genetics of this mid-season variety look great and will be of interest to growers who are not growing InVigor canola. • EXP 904N – this line will be the first soybean line offering resistance to the cyst nematode. I’ve got every confidence that our selection of soybean varieties is the most complete and best performing in every category. As a result, I believe that these products will increase the financial success of your farm business. I am extremely proud to have you as a customer of NorthStar Genetics soybean seed. I wish you the very best of growing conditions as we enter another growing season.

TO GROW NORTHSTAR GENETICS SOYBEANS There are lots of reasons why producers should look to NorthStar Genetics as the source for the best soybean genetics available. 1. The NorthStar Genetics dealer system is close to you with an available supply of the Soybean Varieties best suited to your farm accompanied by first class seed treatment and inoculant services. 2. NorthStar Genetics can offer you the benefit of diversifying your risk by offering multiple varieties in each maturity zone while achieving the best yields possible. This is accomplished by genetic selection, finding the best disease package, and walking a lot of plots. 3. NorthStar Genetics can offer you two lines in the early maturity zone that are proven to be stable yielders and finish early. These varieties are Anola and Libau. 4. NorthStar Genetics has a fleet of intermediate maturity varieties that pack some serious yield. It will be difficult to beat the Elie and Balmoral varieties and impossible to find more revenue per acre than what Richer can deliver to your farm. 5. If you are in the full season maturity zone, the tried and proven Osborne and Jaden varieties just beat everything. 6. All of the NorthStar Genetics varieties exhibit excellent pod height that will ease the harvesting issues often associated with the RR1 soybean genetics. 7. NorthStar Genetics spends a lot of time and resources to insure that you receive the highest quality seed possible. Seed quality gives farmers the best chances under trying conditions to achieve optimum stands and top yields. 8. At NorthStar Genetics, “We Know Beans” and have a large pipeline of improved genetics ready to emerge and help you improve the profitability on your farm. IMPORTANT IRM INFORMATION: RIB Complete® corn blend does not require the planting of a structured refuge except in the Cotton-Growing Area where corn earworm is a significant pest. Genuity® SmartStax® RIB Complete® corn is a blended seed corn product. See the IRM/Grower Guide for additional information. Always read and follow IRM requirements. Roundup Technology® includes Monsanto’s glyphosate-based herbicide technologies. ALWAYS READ AND FOLLOW PESTICIDE LABEL DIRECTIONS. Roundup Ready® crops contain genes that confer tolerance to glyphosate, the active ingredient in Roundup® brand agricultural herbicides. Roundup® brand agricultural herbicides will kill crops that are not tolerant to glyphosate. Genuity and Design®, Genuity Icons, Genuity®, RIB Complete and Design®, RIB Complete®, Roundup PowerMAX®, Roundup Ready 2 Technology and Design®, Roundup Ready 2 Yield®, Roundup Ready®, Roundup Technology®, Roundup®, SmartStax®, and VT Double PRO® are trademarks of Monsanto Technology LLC. LibertyLink® and the Water Droplet Design® is a registered trademark of Bayer. Herculex® is a registered trademark of Dow AgroSciences LLC. Respect the Refuge and Corn Design® and Respect the Refuge® are registered trademarks of National Corn Growers Association. All other trademarks are the property of their respective owners. SOYBEAN PIRACY STATEMENT: Seeds containing the Roundup Ready® trait and the Genuity® Roundup Ready 2 Yield® are protected under numerous United States patents, including Patent No. RE39,247. It is unlawful to save Roundup Ready® Soybeans or Genuity® Roundup Ready 2 Yield® Soybeans for planting or transfer to others for use as a planting seed. BENEFITS OF NEW SEED: Convenience - High quality and high yield potential product vs. bin-run; Reliable seed supply in many maturities. Economics of New Seed vs. Bin-Run - Average loss of ~10-15% cleanout at harvest for bin-run seed; Bin-Run planting rates are generally 15% higher than new certified seed. Limited Warranty Benefits - Dealer agronomic support before and after the sale. Risk management benefits of Roundup Rewards® (over $600 million in benefits paid). New Innovations. Monsanto’s 100% commitment to agriculture. Our very preliminary estimate is that farmers get a $6 benefit for each $1 spent on private sector research. PRESERVING HERBICIDE TECHNOLOGY: Respect the Rotation™ is an initiative to elevate importance and improve grower adoption of herbicide diversity through the rotation of crops, traits and herbicide classes. Rotate crops. Crop rotation provides opportunity for herbicide diversity. Rotate herbicide-tolerant traits. Alternate herbicide-tolerant traits or use of herbicide tolerant stacks for more efficient rotation of both nonselective and selective herbicides. Rotate modes of action (MOA) and use multiple MOA to reduce the selection pressure caused by overusing a single MOA. Respect the Rotation is a trademark of Bayer. LibertyLink® soybeans with Liberty herbicide enables growers to effectively avoid or manage weed resistance as the only nonselective alternative to glyphosate-tolerant systems. LibertyLink soybean varieties combine elite genetics and excellent crop safety with built-in tolerance to the powerful, postermergence weed control of Liberty. Highyielding LibertyLink soybean varieties are available in a range of maturities. Liberty herbicide applied over the top of LibertyLink soybean varieties provides cost-effective postemergence control of broadleaf and grass weeds, including weeds resistant to glyphosate and multiple herbicide classes. Seed products with the LibertyLink® (LL) trait are resistant to the herbicide glufosinate ammonium, an alternative to glyphosate in corn, and combine high-yielding genetics with the powerful, non-selective, postemergent weed control of Liberty® herbicide for optimum yield and excellent weed control. LIBERTYLINK PATENT STATEMENT Soybean seeds containing the LibertyLink® trait are protected under multiple United States patents and may be planted only to produce one (1) commercial crop and only after signing a Grower Trait License agreement. It is illegal to save or catch soybean seeds containing the LibertyLink trait for use as planting seed or for transfer to others for use as planting seed. Bayer CropScience LP, 2 T.W. the early bird

This early bird doesn’t catch the worm - and thank goodness for that. Our NSC Libau RR2Y, is the earliest emerging soybean that you will see in Manitoba. Which means that you can be the earliest emerging soybean grower to hit the beach! At NorthStar Genetics, we know beans!
