Dear Colleagues,

We are absolutely delighted that the process of transferring ownership has finally completed, and we really appreciate all the assistance given by the O’Loughlin family, hotel management and all the staff at Keadeen in completing this process on time.

We hope that you were reassured at our recent staff engagement meeting, that it will be ‘business as usual’ in moving forward with us as the new owners and we very much see ourselves as custodians of the fabulous reputation that the hotel has earned over the years due in no small way to the dedication of the hotel staff. We will ensure that the reputation is maintained and enhanced.

Under the new ownership team we do appreciate that there will be some inevitable changes to your experience at work and the team from Cliste/ The iNUA Hotel Collection are there to support you at any time as you adjust to the new management company.

We are also delighted to announce that a new general manager, Michael Masterson will join the team on September 9th. Michael joins us from the Crowne Plaza Blanchardstown. He is actually a native of Newbridge, lives close to the hotel and is very excited at the prospect of returning to work in Newbridge.

We thank you again most sincerely for your understanding as we find our feet. It will take us time to understand all aspects of the business and the property as a whole but the process is well underway.

In the coming weeks you will see some upgrades to IT systems and some minor building works/improvements. Works to install electrical car chargers will also be carried out shortly. We also hope to submit a planning application for additional bedrooms in the coming months and we will share our ideas with you all in the next newsletter.

Finally, we wish to thank Rose, Anna and Joseph for all their assistance and wish them health and happiness for the future.

Get To Know Your New General Manager

Michael Masterson is a seasoned hospitality professional. Before joining the team at the Keadeen Hotel, Michael was with the Tifco Hotel Group for the last number of years, where he played a pivotal role in the refurbishment of the 188 bedroom Crowne Plaza Blanchardstown. He oversaw the refurbishment of the guest rooms, the Sanctuary Bar, and the hotel lobby. During his tenure, the hotel notably hosted pre-camps for 11 of the 14 teams that competed in the Olympic Games in Paris.

Prior to Michael’s work with Tifco, he served as General Manager at Cliff at Lyons in Celbridge, part of the prestigious Cliff Group. During his time there, he oversaw the opening and integration of Aimsir, a restaurant that quickly earned two Michelin stars, into the property. Additionally, Michael expanded the offerings at the Well in the Garden Spa, including the development of an outdoor thermal area, and oversaw the launch of The Pantry, a new café and food store on the property. Michael’s career also includes senior management roles at the Osprey Hotel, Killashee Hotel, and Hotel Kilkenny, where he honed his skills in hospitality management.

A native of Newbridge, Michael is deeply connected to the community and has fond memories of the Keadeen Hotel, where he has attended numerous events. He is enthusiastic about his new role and is eager to continue and expand the legacy of the O’Loughlin family, who founded the hotel. Michael is looking forward to meeting the whole team in the hotel and is passionate about maintaining the warm and friendly environment that the Keadeen Hotel is known for. He is excited to contribute to the hotel’s continued success.

NEW SYSTEMS AND HEALTH & SAFETY UPDATE

Get To Know Your New General Manager

To enhance our fire safety procedures, we’re excited to introduce the Fire Cloud 365 app this week. This innovative software will streamline our fire safety management by recording scheduled daily fire walks and routine maintenance checks. By utilising this app, we can ensure that all fire safety protocols are adhered to efficiently and effectively.

In the coming weeks, you’ll notice general health and safety and fire safety upgrades taking place throughout the hotel. These upgrades align with our commitment to providing a safe and secure environment for both guests and staff. This will be supported by a number of health and safety courses such as fire awareness training and manual handling that will be launched over the coming weeks for everyone working in the hotel.

Get To Know The Cliste & iNUA Hotel Collection Team

How did you get to the role you are in today?

Through hard work, a bit of luck and a very understanding partner! I was good at business and accounting at school but I didn’t want an office based job and I thought hotels would be a good fit for my skill set.

What three words best describe you?

Humble, positive and calm.

What makes you happy?

In my professional life – I am very competitive and I like winning! I get great satisfaction from supporting people and a business and being part of a company with like minded people.

What is your proudest achievement to date?

My family and my home. I have been incredibly lucky to have been blessed with three children and I am very proud of being able to provide them with a home that they can enjoy and create loads of great memories in!

What advice would you give to the Keadeen Hotel team?

Strong relationships are the building blocks of most successful businesses and for me it is really important that from the outset that we are all committed to building these relationships with one another.
