Inuit Songs

Supporting comprehensive study & description of the rich song culture of the Inuit people. Inuitsongs' 1. publishing project involves Michael Hausers transcriptions of Christian Ledens recordings from Uummannaq and Upernavik, 1909-1912. This in support of http://www.issuu.com/greenland/docs/publ_www_ghh_leden/1 2. publishing project will involve Hauser's work on prof. Erik Holtved's recordings of Traditional Inuit Songs from the Thule Area, 1930's. Michael Hauser (1930-) is Master of Music Ethnology, internationally esteemed expert on Greenlandic Drumsongs, former upper secondary school teacher & author. Hauser's work represents some of the earliest recorded sound collections from Arctic societies, Greenland and Circumpolar.
