In nature, form instils identity so that we are able to distinguish an inherent functional purpose. Consciousness of nature’s systems and patterns and appreciating these aesthetically inform an on-going understanding of the interconnectedness of underlying life patterns and coevolution. The essence of beauty can thus be interpreted as a sense of union drawing us beyond isolated individuality. Architecture that reflects its true nature can become accessible to human desire and imagination by remaining intelligible. I believe that a building should echo natural simplicity and unity through form and composition informed by the holistic integration of materials, building systems, structure and purpose. Architecture that stems from place and memory has the capacity to nurture a spirit of local identity and engage in a narrative with its inherited urban setting. I aim to participate in this conversation by a practise of sensitive and contemporary contextual architecture that positively engages with an ever evolving local identity. Tectonic expression has the power to inspire consciousness in the same way nature does. A building is brought to life through recognition of its expression and conscious integration with its context. Such a building embodies the collective identity of the people that it is intended to serve, declaring that architecture is the built image of ourselves (Rasmus Wærn & Gert Wingårdh). Through this process we understand and relate to the building, and therein lies its beauty. I aim to create beautiful buildings.

My project stewardship extends beyond the discipline of architecture. As shown, I am also well-versed in urban place-making and product, interior and landscape design. I seek out new challenges and get actively involved. Therefore, my experience comprises a diversity of project types of varying scale including adaptive re-use, mixed-use, single and multi-family residential, office, retail, interior and hospitality projects. Projects as illustrated are my own original work executed in the capacity as design lead. However, I am a firm believer in the combinatorial nature of creativity and that radical ideas are incubated by way of collaboration. I prescribe to an iterative and progressive process involving design coordination with all professionals. Thank you for taking the time to explore my projects.
