Co-design needs to be adequately resourced to support participation; this should include compensating people for their time and input to help minimise power imbalances between those who are already being paid to participate eg by an employer and those who are not.

The Co-design Framework needs to be positioned within a wider participation framework for the Community Planning Partnership

to support understanding of when codesign is and is not appropriate.

Training is required to support co-designers to understand, apply and implement the Co-design Framework.

Trust and strong relationships are required to co-design effectively. It will be necessary to take steps to restore trust and relationships between partners. 4

A community of practice should be supported for peer-peer learning and knowledge exchange. 5
It is important to capture and evidence both the process and impacts of co-design to build learning and refine practice.

Evidence and capturing co-design(from lack of case studies)

The Co-design Framework should be reviewed regularly to reflect on practice and incorporate learning as the framework is used.
