*HOLD THE PHONE!* You mean Carnival of Colours is on the 29th and 30th of August? But that’s a different weekend than usual! Why yes it is... This year we officially give you the last blow out of the Summer... to be referred to from now on as the...
BEST CRAIC WEEKEND EVER IN THE WORLD FOR ITS AGE!
How’s she cutting? It’s been a year (and a couple of months)... You are still looking great! You have a few extra laughter lines since the last time we met but that’s good because guess what? We’re gonna give you some more. We are delighted to return to our little patch of urban greenery to bring the Northwest, and specifically YOU, bucket loads of programmed frolics!
playground for all with Kids Zones, a Crafty Barn, a Carousel, Outdoor Stages featuring International Street Performers, an onsite Festival Pub (IT’S INFLATABLE!), Live Music, Cabaret, Circus, Comedy, Large-Scale Sculptures, Food Stalls, a Yard of Dreams and loads of special guests and surprises (we are aiming for nothing short of a field full of ooooohs, ahhhs and WOW’S).
We’ve got Outdoor Shows, Big Top Shows, Music, Art, Food, Workshops and Giant Eyeballs hanging in the trees! What is not to love and enjoy? We’ve catered for everyone from the young to the old, the freestylers to the uptight... We’d even put money on making really crabbit people crack a smile in our little leafy hub.
So... Have a read through this programme... get excited... set your voicemails to ‘I’m busy enjoying myself at Carnival of Colours’, update your statuses, book your babysitters for the night-times (adults have a wee nosey at the back page!), bring your sun cream, wellies, whatever you want to come and hang with us for the weekend...
Our two day and night long event will see St Columb’s Park transformed into a magical
HOW MUCH IS IT? WE HEAR YOU CRY...
Well... We are an independent festival team who work hard to bring world-class acts and a jam-packed programme to your doorstep. We only ask this... please dig deep and show your appreciation by throwing whatever you can afford into our purple Festival donation buckets. It’s an investment into the Festival’s future and you’ll be one of our heroes! Besides... it’s more than worth it! *WINKY FACE* We would like to thank all our sponsors and funders for their generous contributions! We realise that every year we take on a mammoth task of programming a festival that the North West can be proud of and attend... it is great that this year, the value has been recognised and supported so... Thank you! P.S. We still love the sound of a crisp note or a pocketsworth of coins dropping into the donation buckets *ANOTHER WINKY FACE* Nobody puts Carnival in the corner... Now get out there you cheeky lot and get frolicking!
