Trinity Buoy Wharf Ioana Rosca

Trinity buoy wharf Trinity Buoy Wharf is the site of a lighthouse, by the confluence of the River Thames and Bow Creek

Construction: brick tower Has a shape of an octagonal tower with balcony and lantern attached to 1-storey depot building

This is a plan view of the map where trinity buoy wharf is located Trinity Buoy Wharf is a centre for arts and cultural activities

Bow Creek Lighthouse, a warehouse and a shed exhibiting Michael Faraday's work These are some of the pictures I took on site

And these are some of the drawings I did while I was exploring the area

The lighthouse no longer functions, but is the home of various art projects such as Longplayer.

Container City 2 at Trinity Buoy Wharf.

+Pictures on site

Container City 2" was completed delivering a further 22 studios across 5 floors in with a brightly coloured ziggurat design

The vibrant colours bring more life to the area and make the place approachable and fun I really liked the idea of using containers and turning them into these unique studios and rooms that can be used and hired by anyone

These simple shapes combined really make this place simple but very creative and unique at the same time

This is a little apartment that has around 8 rooms

containers are made from steel and have closed-top with hinged doors. They have corrugated walls on the top and bottom sides and are welded to the rails and end frames.

Miami beach soundscape park They provide shade They are hand fabricated painted aluminium

I really like the unique design of this park and This park has a variety of how contemporary it is , abstract shapes and style included in the design plan perfect for visitors

These are called pergolas and were inspired by puffy cumulus clouds

These plant holders reminded me of the outline and form of mushrooms so I decided to research and sketch different types of mushrooms till I found some that looked exactly like the composition of these pergoals in Miami

The beautiful flowers that are stored inside these pergolas stand out and make both the environment and the aluminium pergolas look more cheerful and more attractive

I also added some plan view drawings of the pergolas

This is a plan view of the park

Greenery can also contribute to reducing the amount of noise pollution

There is a lot of greenery which helps reduce surface temperature and severe insulation for the structures below

It provide options for informal seating through coordinated concrete walls.

The sun is allowed to go through the top of the pergolas so the flowers inside can grow and make the place more attractive

When I look at the top of these pergolas It reminds me of mushroom tops

The details where the brown bit is, inside mushroom look exactly like the strands of the hand painted aluminium bars

The soft, undulating topography is visually reinforced by a white concrete mosaic of meandering pathways

Aberdeen City Garden Diller Scofidio

This is a plan view Lot of simple shapes are arranged together to create this contemporary design, having the right amount of greenery and infrastructure

Graceful new spaces and structures

The £140m city garden project will radically transform the centre, covering over the “unattractive” bit

the Garden extends the surrounding urban fabric as an elastic web of 3dimensional interconnections across its site.

I really like how visually interesting this place is

It will provide additional useable green space, a landmark cultural and arts centre and promote the city’s historic streets

£140.5m project

This ingenious and inspiring design for Aberdeen’s key public space gives the city a new social landscape but one rooted in its extraordinarily rich heritage and natural assets.

This is a 3d plan of the final design and result

This project reflects an integration of landscape design

I really like this space as its very elegant , thoughtful and diverse

It defenatley changes the aspect of this city and could bring more visitors and tourists increasing economy

Aberdeen is the Granite City. Granite buildings are everywhere

Most of the materials that are used for the construction of this plan are sustainable and recyclable

It will bring life and energy into the the centre of town

contemporary infrastructure can enhance urban life

While the project has a precise design calibrated to the contingencies and clearances of the alley, it is designed specifically to be functionally open to interpretation

its geometry and relationship to the adjacent buildings and pedestrian access points on either side of the alley, the project possesses many potential “functions” including informal lounging/sitting, mini-stages, and movie screenings, festivals, among others. 500ft continuous linear steel tube and painted graphic surfaces

Vibrant public space This design was created to add more life to an unused and neglected area and I believe they have achieved that

zig-zagging structure

Green scale colour scheme for the painting of the steel The steel was probably shaped and bent in to the classic zigzag shaped structure

Constructed from a series of large, connected steel tubes that form a single, continuous volume through the alley

both formal and informal. Looks fun and creative

The design teams were tasked with creating a vibrant pedestrian corridor that is adaptable for use as a small public event space and I think they have achieved that

The shape of this design breaks down the overall space into a series of more intimate spaces, or “urban rooms”.

gardens by the bay in Singapore

The project aims to transform Singapore into a global city by raising the standard of living and creating open green spaces where people can enjoy leisure time and work

A garden attraction for locals and visitors Gardens by the Bay is a garden artistry that presents the plant kingdom, entertaining while educating visitors with plants

This building has a very interesting shape and looks very intriguing because of the contrast with the blue glass and white lines between There are 18 Super trees 765 Rising up to 50 metres above ground, they provide shade in the day and come alive with an exhilarating light and musical show at night.

it is home to 2000 exotic species of over 7,00,000 natural plants on display for the visitors. In order to reduce energy, cost inside the domes, the underground chilled water pipes are used Gardens by the Bay is now the number one tourist attraction

Called Super trees , they behave as vertical gardens - generating solar power, and they collect rainwater

These trees are very useful and make the gardens more unique from the rest

This building Looks like the top of a shell

The high line in NY

Park is approx. 1.45 miles or 2.33KM and takes about 30min to walk and opened all year 'round including the Winter. I

t's an old elevated railway line dating back to 1934 and it was built to transport goods to the different deposits that were located along the western part of the Island.

the High Line is a public park built on a historic freight rail line elevated above the streets on Manhattan's West Side. Saved from demolition by neighbourhood residents and the City of New York, the High Line opened in 2009 as a hybrid public space where visitors experience nature, art, and design.

It is important, because it integrates, rather than segregates, the city and its inhabitants into a holistic entity. The High Line crosses many of Manhattan's streets and creates experiential places, blending landscape and space.

It lifted train traffic 30 feet in the air, removing dangerous trains from the streets

millennium park in Chicago

considered the world's largest rooftop garden. Millennium Park is also a popular tourist destination, thanks to the iconic Bean sculpture and other attractions

The reflection of the sky above the park, and the curved underside of The Bean serves as an entrance that visitors can walk under to enter the park

Flowing crown of stainless steel ribbons and curving steel plates that make it a stunning and surreal place to see live entertainment.

This is called the crown fountain it is composed of a black granite reflecting pool positioned between a pair of 50foot glass brick towers that use lightemitting diodes (LEDs) to display digital videos.

Vulcano Buono Nola Italy

Vulcano Buono in Nola, Italy is a giant structure with a green heartbeat thanks to a green-roofed landscape designed

The landscape architecture designs for this building include 2,500 plants which wrap around the eye of the volcano. This bit of the structure looks a bit like a space ship

I think that the structure of a volcano has a nice contrast with all the nature around and looks like its part of the city

its a truly massive structure, designed as a point of commerce and tourism for one of Italy’s prime freight cities

The structure features a shopping mall, an outdoor theater and a hotel with a 150 square meter open market within.

Pavilions

oval and wedge-shaped building include a 94 sq m café-restaurant, a kitchen plus internal and external toilets will form part of the new Swansea arena development, housing a pavilion cafeteria.

The designs feature wood, local stone, stainless steel, aluminium and a solar roof.

The pavilion cafeteria is designed to act as a striking piece of architecture within the roof top park, without creating a dominant feature vying against the arena’s architectural form.

I think this café will add a dramatic focal point to this area

The building, with a "timber frame and strong green credentials", will have an area of outdoor seating under canopies so guests can fully enjoy the experience of being in the 1.1-acre coastal park. There will be indoor seating too. "This will give the best views out over the landscaped roof park, and views out towards the sea.

pottersfield park pavilion

There are 2 pavilions which stand on either side of the park, one at the foot of Norman Foster’s City Hall and the other beside Tower Bridge, providing refreshments and fantastic views of the river.

The profits from the café directly fund the upkeep of the park

the UK’s first charred timber-clad structure in the UK

It has a simple but fascinating aged design out of wood and has a very magnetising colour scheme of dark browns DSDHA considered the visual and ecological impact of the structures indepth.

This structure relates to a strong English landscape tradition of grottos and groves and attempts to encourage the public space to make use of all of the riverside public space the site has to offer

café

Le House fills An’g restaurant and roof garden in duke of york

a dynamic and sculptural building is created that respects and enhances its prestigious surroundings, while incorporating new public space and greenery.

The black and white colour scheme makes it look more

This is a new stylish restaurant in London that incorporates a rooftop garden, and enhances the public realm

I really like the shape of this design

garden Cafe with plants to create an oasis in bustling Hanoi The building features a structural framework and angular concrete shell that encloses a large glazed facade facing the street The windows are interspersed with steel frames that resemble spreading tree branches. These shapes provide the first hint of the cafe's natural theme

The top floor of the cafe provides a view of the sky through a large window and a glazed roof that is partly covered by timber louvres to protect the interior from direct sunlight

While a house full of steel frame may sound dry and heavy, the impression of An'garden Cafe comes from impromptu hanging plant pots, conjuring up a vision of a dreamlike hanging garden," Le House explained Plants, trees and a pond introduce greenery into this cafe

Tables and chairs are arranged around I really like the concept of keeping greenery a small pond filled with aquatic plants, within the design of some of the elements like the window which is positioned next to a staircase.

The area that we have to work with has a very strange shape so I decided to add a few of the basic buildings such as a café and some kiosks that are useful and so it doesn’t take away from the actual place but also went for a pavilion that will make intrigue people to come to trinity buoy wharf and visit

I wanted to add a lot of greenery to this place as there is not enough and in my opinion that is what makes it a bit dull and boring.

The pink buildings are the structures that are being kept and the yellow bit is the surface area where all these new buildings will go

There will be benches where people can sit and admire the views that are designated plus a terrace in front of the café for people who want to enjoy a drink along side friends and family

Some parts will be elevated to create a more visually at captivating landscape idea as well as to add more dimension to the surroundings

Café + terrace

This is the first side of the café

I drew and elevation drawing of this side of the café and added a person to show how tall it is

I added a big glass window where the people inside will be able to look outside and enjoy the beautiful view

Also there is a big table at the window where people can sit and eat while looking outside

The actual building will be made out of brown wood I also decided to sketch a plan view of the café and terrace to be able to see where everything is placed I used the shapes triangles and rectangles to create a basic shape for the café This bit of the café is approximately around 20 meters long and 3 meters tall

For the design of the window I used wavy lines going up and down overlapping each other and created this simple but fascinating piece

The whole front of the café will be built with transparent glass in interesting shapes and design so that the natural light can shine through This is the front of the café

I still kept the same design and shapes for the outside of the building

In front of the building there is a portion that has a special design relating to the window that is elevated and a pathway that leads exactly to it Inside the café there will be seats and tables that people will be able to sit and get some lunch from the displaying bit and pay at the counter Aliso there is a toilet and doors that lead to the terrace or to different sides oof the café

Used the same colours to represent the materials

I kept the same shapes so that the design is simple so that it doesn’t take away from the other buildings around but is still interesting The café is just one floor and is around 3 meters tall

This is the side of the café that is against a small wall/fence that faces the river Thames so I added a big window so that people can see outside through it while waiting in the queue to buy from the cafe

The counter will be round shaped as well as the tables inside so there is a contrast between the shapes used for the exterior and interior This is the plan view of inside of this part of the café which has a counter and a displaying area

This drawing shows where the terrace begins and depicts the back window on the back of the café that has the same design as the front window

On the terrace the will be squared shaped wooden tables with chairs arranged all across and umbrellas that are attached to the tables so that the wind wont blow them away and they can be used for people that want to stay outside but its raining

This is the last side of the café (the back)

The doors will also be from glass as I think that all of these bits that are from glass and are transparent will give the inside a good lighting and will visually be more captivating and intriguing as well as welcoming, making people want to see what’s inside

This is the shape of the terrace from a plan view

kiosks For this kiosk I wanted again to give it a simple shape as it is located next to the pavilion therefore I thought a trapezium would be a good idea to experiment with

Next to the kiosk there will be greenery and some benches where people can sit

Inside this kiosk there will be displayed and for sale things like deserts and and cakes because I think that will encourage people to come and visit so they could enjoy some deserts while sitting on a bench and also they can buy cakes there for weddings and parties

The front side of the kiosk will be glass so people can see what’s inside attracting them to come and see

Shop

The taller building will be 3 meters tall and the shorter one will be 2 meters tall

Next to the buildings there will be greenery

For the colour scheme I was thinking to go for a mixture of white, grey and gold as these buildings are close to the wedding venue and I think white, grey and gold will make the structure more sophisticated and elegant

There are gonna be two buildings with different things inside one is longer and taller and the other is shorter and narrower

For the design of this shop I kept it a simple rectangular structure

The little shop will be a party shop with decorations and gifts for the wedding and party venue and the taller shop will be a gift shop for tourists to buy souvenirs

pavilion

The pavilion is designed to have seats inside and allow people to enjoy their day out in a nice weather or can be a shelter for rainy days

For the pavilion I found a really detailed and compelling shape if seen from a birds eye view This pavilion will be made from wood and stone and will have the colour scheme of black and white so that it fits in and it wont distract too much from the other buildings that remain

This is the area that will be used to create this pavilion

This shape reminds me of a kite or a paper plane

The top will be made from wood and painted white and 4 poles painted black going from the ceiling to the ground The actual structure will be built on an elevated ground and has two pathways leading to the opened bit of the structure

In this plan view drawing we can see that There will be 4 long box like white stone benches in the sitting area

This pavilion is very useful for everyone located there on visiting
