EXTERNAL SITUATION REPORT ON THE POPULATION MOVEMENTS INTO SUDAN (09-15 November 2014)
Introduction:
IOM has tracked and registered 51,044 people entering Sudan in total since the beginning of the conflict; 2,413 nomads, 48,582 South Sudanese, and 49 Sudanese. This is equivalent to 4.9% nomads, 95% South During this reporting period (9 November – 15 November), a total of 187 South Sudanese were tracked and Sudanese, and 0.1% Sudanese. registered as entering Sudan. The IOM hub in Jabal Awlia tracked 101 persons moving north from White Since the beginning of the conflict, IOM registered 15,716 persons in South Kordofan, and 1,044 in West Nile State into Khartoum State, and 86 persons crossed the border from Upper Nile State in South Sudan Kordofan. The IOM tracking hub at Jabal Awlia has tracked 31,624 persons thus far. The verified numbers in into Alleri West in South Kordofan; this amounts to 27 persons per day. East Darfur and Abyei remain the same at 164, and 2,496 persons, respectively. According to UNHCR, 107,131 people have arrived from South Sudan since the beginning of the conflict, which is a slight increase from last week.
Tracking and Registration The South Sudanese entering Khartoum State continue moving to the open areas such as Um Dorman, Haj Yousif, Kalakel, Mayo, and Soba. Of the 101 persons tracked by IOM in Jabal Awlia, 32 are females, and 45 are children. 57% of all the individuals whom IOM tracked as heading to Khartoum were female, and 43% were male.
