PEOC and will begin distribution and installation of IT equipment from 16 January to all 15 PEOCs. IOM also completed interviews of 14 PEOC Coordinators and assessed their operation capacity, gaps and needs. IOM’s assessment found that all PEOCs urgently require logistical support and are also in need of managerial and technical support to improve their rapid response capability and community engagement. The assessment also revealed a need to enhance cross border management of cases and contacts. A report of IOM assessment will be shared with key stakeholders in Guinea.

Health and Humanitarian Border Management IOM conducted a border management assessment from 8-14 January of key entry points from Mali (Nafadji, Kourémalé, Kolenda, Dako, Balandou, Nigassola, and Tombalé of Siguiri Prefecture) to evaluate current health management system and identify gaps and challenges. Findings of IOM’s border assessment will be used to guide its cross-border activities to strengthen management of movement to prevent infection and spread of Ebola in the border areas.
