IOM Distribution Highlights
TRANSPORT
On 26 August, the IOM Dahuk team distributed 200 kits in the Mangesh area of Dahuk. Beneficiaries enthusiastically accepted kerosene cook stoves, large water coolers, floor mats, cooking items (pots, pans, dishes and cutlery), mattresses, bedding and towels, among a variety of other household items such as laundry soap and toiletry items.
OVERALL: IOM transported from 4 to 26 August, 2014
A common theme throughout the distribution was one of gratitude. “Without this equipment, we would have no way to cook our meals. We have been sleeping on concrete. These mattresses offer us some comfort,” a man from Mosul told IOM staff. “I have been displaced four times and this aid really helps.” The displaced were happy to have durable, practical goods they could use immediately.
