Weekly trends can fluctuate due to security conditions in the region, the political climate in Niger and neighbouring countries, presence of migrants at the flow monitoring points and availability of transport and opportunities. For more detailed analysis see the flow monitoring survey reports.

The majority of migrants recorded are heading towards Libya from Niger (48%), followed by the migrants heading from Algeria to Niger (23%).Men comprise the majority of migratory flows at 91%. Of the minors recorded in the migratory flows the majority are accompanied migrants heading towards Niger. Nevertheless, the outgoing flows is made up of almost equal numbers of accompanied and unaccompanied minors. Nationality numbers presented can give indications of nationalities present but should not be taken as exact nationalities present in the flows. The current graphs allow for a visualisation of nationality fluctuations over time. Currently the data indicates high fluctuations over time for the outgoing flows, while incoming flows have a higher proportion of Nigeriens.

Flow monitoring points are placed at known migrant passing points along the Niger migratory route. Data is collected daily at FMPs to inform migrant movements and profiles. The data collected provides a snapshot of migrant movements through the region.
