World Humanitarian Day 2016
Every year on 19 August, World Humanitarian Day (WHD) recognizes aid workers who risk their lives in order to provide humanitarian assistance to people around the world. The campaign has gone from its inception in 2008 as a day to recognize humanitarian personnel and those who have lost their lives working for humanitarian causes into a global campaign celebrating the spirit of humanitarianism, and mobilizing people to advocate for a more humane world. Camp Management Toolkit One year after launching the completely revised and updated Camp Management Toolkit, the online version comes in a more user-friendly and accessible platform. Searching, finding and uploading tools as well as references has never been easier due to new categories and download functions. A rating system indicates how useful the tools and references are to your colleagues, and the structured layout guides you towards the chapter or document you need. The Camp Management Toolkit includes practical advice to assist Camp Management Agencies in the management and coordination of a camp as well as to ensure respects for the rights of displaced persons, and offers a large amount of cross sectorial information linked to the camp life cycle and sets out the most essential issues concerning protection and assistance offered in a camp. The Toolkit also exists in an offline version. A few clicks are all you need to download this version straight to your device, including all the tools, references, and chapters. The best thing about it? It updates automatically whenever connected to an internet connection.
The guidelines focus on lessons learned from years of Collective Centre experience and seek to assist in the planning, implementation, monitoring, maintaining and overall management of Collective Centres to ensure protection and assistance to those in need.

This CCCM desk review on outside camp contexts aims to explore how CCCM resources and experiences of camp-like and camp-based responses can be applied to respond to the needs of displaced populations outside camps, in particular in urban environments.
