Paulie is very social and has spent most nights traveling to the homes of the kids in division 11. On the home visits Paulie has done lots of fun and interesting things and has had the chance to really get to know the “Playful Puppy” families.

My favourite food is eggs. If I could be any animal I would be a horse because I could gallop. I like running, Barbies and computers. My favorite things about school is drawing and reading time. When I grow up I am going to be a rock star and play guitar.

My favourite food is popcorn because it is good. If I could be any animal I would be an owl because they are up all night. I like hockey because you get goals. My favourite part of school is art. When I grow up I want to be a pilot because I can fly where I want to. I would go to Hong Kong.

My favourite food is macaroni because you can mix it with cheese. If I could be any animal I would be a rabbit because they can hop. I like basketball and cars. My favourite part of school is art. I like soccer and Barbie. I never had a Barbie before but now I have three! My favourite thing about school is art.

HOW WAS YOUR MAGAZINE MADE? Congratulations!! You are now holding the magazine that you made. You helped shoot the cover, you interviewed your classmates, you picked the font for the cover and you worked on the “guts�. You even styled Bobby like a model for his cover shoot! But what happened after that?

After all of your hard work was done, the ION team took your work and scanned it. This means that we used a machine called a scanner (some of you might have one at home) and made copies of your work. Once this was completed we started to put your magazine together. We planned out where each picture would go and then we put the scans in that order. Finally we added the words (text) and the finishing touches. Your magazine was finally starting to look like a magazine but we had a few more steps to complete before we were done. The next step was to send the magazine files off to the printer. The printer is where you send your computer files of the magazine so that they can print your magazine on paper using a printing press. This is a machine that makes copies, just like a computer printer but much larger.

DID YOU KNOW? Some printing presses are as big as a bus! These are used for large magazine runs like ION. These presses can print thousands of magazine pages in minutes!

Once your magazine was printed on paper, it was put on another machine and the pages were stapled together and the magazine was folded to form a booklet. The final step was trimming the magazine so that all of the pages were the same size. Now you have a magazine that you created. Great job!
