EPLAN DATA PORTAL: THE PATH TO AN IDEAL DEVICE DATA SET
The Dashboard provides a good overview of the new features in the Eplan Data Portal of the most downloaded device data.
Digital device data are the key element for efficient engineering these days. One of the biggest challenges for this is both the data quality and the depth of said data. Eplan Data Portal is rising to this challenge: since the start of the year, the portal is now being updated on a monthly basis, more often than before.
U
sers now also have a rating function for qualifying device data, thereby offering manufacturers practicebased feedback from the market. Furthermore, since the Hannover Messe, a Lab Version of the Eplan Data Portal allows users to get early access to test and try out the program’s most current developments.
MORE INFORMATION
EPLAN Data Portal is the central platform for digital device data in the area of automation engineering. Currently more than 230 manufacturers offer more than 800,000 data sets as direct downloads - with integrated configurations and the respective variants, it´s actually more than 2 million. Since the start of the year, the data are being updated every month so that users and manufacturers alike can better benefit from the platform and to help ensure the data´s high quality. These updates include both the addition of new manufacturers and the augmentation, expansion and updating of existing manufacturing data.
20 | Industry USA | July 2018
6
User ratings as quality indicator Another step to continuous quality improvement is the quite new user rating function. As is common on other portals like Amazon, it allows users the possibility to rate the offered contents by awarding it stars. The goal is to rate and qualify the product´s digital data, not the product itself. In the sense of a community mind, users thereby provide helpful feedback from their everyday work that provides orientation for other users but that also gives manufacturers valuable indicators from the market to continue developing their data. The users themselves thus can have an influence on the data quality. Sorting options for improved user experience Based on the rating function, users can directly sort search results in the portal using two additional options: filtering device data according the highest-rated devices or, alternatively, according to the amount of downloads the device data set has generated to that point. This way users know exactly which items have the best quality device data or which device is used most often in its product group.
NEWS
Naturally the assumption is that engineers will intensively use the rating function, which is the only way it will have an impact for everyone. It´s considered a significant added value - and thus rating by users is highly welcome.
Find out more at: https://labversion.eplandata.de www.eplandataportal.com
An outlook for the future The user experience as well as the ease of use and simplicity paired with the right contents - is a key asset for future cloud applications. A Lab Version of the new EPLAN Data Portal interface has been available since April, in which users have the opportunity to directly test the new interface. Whether they try out the new search functions or want to explore the look and feel of the new dashboard: the Lab Version already has all of these features. It will be continually expanded and new version releases will regularly be available to test. EPLAN is hereby providing its users a peek behind the scene in the development process.
MORE INFORMATION
Additional information More than 80 product catalogues with more than 50,000 data sets have been updated since the start of 2018. Moreover, fifteen renowned manufacturers - including Hitachi Industrial Systems with automatic circuit breakers, Yaskawa with frequency converters, and IMI with more than one hundred cylinders - have been newly integrated into the portal.

PAVING THE WAY: TAKE STORE SHARE VIEW TO THE CLOUD
The new integration to the EPLAN Cloud is available starting with Version 2.8. Designers can make the schematic project available in the cloud from the platform for downstream company processes. The schematic project shared by the EPLAN user becomes available for manufacturing through a web browser as an example. Device details are easily and transparently provided - these are shown by selecting a device within the schematic.
EPLAN Software & Service GmbH is now offering Store Share View. This in-house solution based on Microsoft Azure is a service that brings EPLAN Projects to the cloud. Bringing data to the cloud and for instance using it to enable scenarios for collaboration. These days this is more compulsory than voluntary. But many companies are asking questions about the correct path to take and the right amount. Additionally, it is also the foundation for future cloud-to-cloud connections.
A
t the Hannover Messe, EPLAN presented the part of Store Share View of which projects can be viewed, reviewed and commented upon via redlining workflow. From this starting point forward, EPLAN accompanies its customers step by step on the pathway to the cloud. Users benefit from a central data source that makes EPLAN data available in a simple way for everyone involved in a project (including for downstream processes). Access to the data is universal: from every end device, from every location, and independent of an EPLAN installation.
MORE INFORMATION
The name Store Share View already describes the journey their customers will take to the cloud: EPLAN Projects can be saved in the cloud (Store) and are available for all project participants (Share) to see (View) at any time. It doesn´t require any sort of installation - not even the traditional Viewer installation which was required previously. All that is needed to be done is log in, view the project, make comments using the redlining function, and mark the work 20 | Industry USA | July 2018
16
progress. It´s this easy for users to take their first steps in the cloud project environment. The system is designed so that all the necessary EPLAN Project information is available in the cloud as a central information source. The engineering knowledge remains protected from unauthorized access by managing the access options. Rights assignment itself resides with the customer´s respective department. This is just the first step that EPLAN Platform users take to the cloud - but it is a very important one. In the past, when providing schematic information to downstream departments (such as control cabinet engineering or commissioning) thousands of pages of documentation had to be printed on paper. A paperless workflow isn´t just more cost-effective, but also increases quality enormously. Another decisive aspect is the possibilities for collaboration. With Store Share View - the first step of EPLAN´s cloud concept - external participants may also access the data if they are assigned access rights. The infrastructure for collaboration
NEWS
Changes can be documented and forwarded to EPLAN users who can then carry out the modifications, guided by a list - difficulties in deciphering someone´s handwriting thus become a thing of the past.
is available through the cloud and a department must no longer go through an elaborate project hand-over process. Sub-suppliers can simply use a web browser to read the current project status. Another practical benefit: Only current data are available and changes are documented by way of a managed redlining workflow, meaning that sources of errors are eliminated once and for all. Collaboration with sub-suppliers becomes easier, also optimizing workflows. Connections to PDM/PLM remain If a company wants to get new software, the first questions asked is: what happens to my current connections to IT infrastructures? Examples of this include the interfaces to PDM or PLM systems that generally must be updated or adapted to a new software. EPLAN also considered this question while developing Store Share View: existing connections to the EPLAN Platform remain unchanged. Any conversion of existing integrations isn´t required since the EPLAN Projects created in engineering are the source for Store Share View, making any changes to the data storage for the source project unnecessary.
First use cases from cooperation partners Cloud technologies are developed so that many participants can work on a project. In the context of Industry 4.0, these project participants are often much more widely scattered than in just one company. Partners work collaboratively on solutions, create connections between their software solutions and thereby increase user benefits. The companies Festo and Lenze have been EPLAN partners for years. They have stored numerous component data in the EPLAN Data Portal and, for their part, are exploiting the opportunities of cloud technology. At the Hannover Messe, both companies are presenting initial use cases that were technologically created with a Rest API in Store Share View. Rest API technology enables access for third-party suppliers so that they can optimally utilize engineering data designed in EPLAN for further processes.
MORE INFORMATION
Innovative operating concept Aside from being functional, software should also be as pleasant as possible to use and support all of a user´s needs. EPLAN has also done quite a good on this point. The operating concept is state of the art and made to be easy in its entirety. Whether using a touchpad, a mouse or an active pen: all technologies can be utilized and naturally
all current end devices - from PCs to touch-screens through to mobile devices. This ensures for flexibility during times when engineering is becoming increasingly globalized. Due to the 24-hour availability of cloud services, every project participant can access the data from any location around the world.
The concept around Store Share View is being presented for the first time at the 2018 Hannover Messe. www.eplanusa.com 20 | Industry USA | July 2018

MAGNETOSTRICTIVE LINEAR POSITION SENSOR FOR EXPLOSION HAZARD AREAS
Control and shut-off valves are used for oil and gas transmission in refineries and petrochemical plants. The valve position is regulated using the position measuring systems, because they are extremely reliable, especially in very harsh environments. When explosion protection has the highest priority, the new, certified position measuring system BTL7-T500 from Balluff is the right choice.
W
ith its many international approvals, such as ATEX and IECex, the BTL7-T500 offers a broad range of applications, high reliability and safe operation in explosion hazard areas of Zone 0 and Zone 1. This means for example it can be used as well for continuous level measurement in refinery tanks. The Profibus interface offers great flexibility. The position measuring system can be quickly adapted, saves time in installation and means rapid diagnostics of possible errors. This shortens commissioning time of systems and maintenance when service calls are needed. A single cable suffices for hookup (BUS-in-out, power).
The non-contact and thereby wear-free magnetostrictive measuring system in the stainless steel housing with IP 67 protection is not only extremely insensitive to contamination, but also shock rated to 100 g. It also withstands vibration up to 12 g. With a resolution of 1Âľm and repeat accuracy of 10Âľm it operates with extreme precision and is also the ideal solution when position and speed measurement needs to be performed simultaneously in a system.

LEM+ AND LEMAX+ INTELLIGENT VACUUM PUMPS: ALL INTELLIGENT POWER
COVAL is expanding its range of intelligent vacuum pumps with the launch of new products: LEM+ and LEMAX+. Increased power is combined with COVAL vacuum pump qualities: performance, compactness and energy savings. “Boosted” versions of the LEM and LEMAX. As their name implies, the LEM+ and the LEMAX+ are more powerful versions of the LEM and LEMAX, vacuum pumps previously commercialized by COVAL. For COVAL, the aim is to meet manufacturer and end user demands for stronger power. Mission accomplished since the LEM+ reaches a flow rate of 125 to 385 NI/min (compared with 29 to 92 for the LEM) and the LEMAX+ reaches a flow rate of 125 to 200 NI/min (compared with 29 to 70 for the LEMAX)
MORE INFORMATION
Optimized size/power ratio The LEM+ and LEMAX+ are the perfect mixture of more (bigger) power and smaller size. For the integrator and user these two qualities are a guarantee of easy installation and performance. Compared to similar products in terms of power, the LEM+ and LEMAX+ are by far the most compact vacuum pumps on the market.

onitoring modules of the latest generation, a technologically leading friction system and consistently-observed safety principles – safety brakes by mayr® power transmission are equipped for the challenges of the Industry 4.0. The perfectly-coordinated complete system guarantees the utmost level of operational and functional safety, and increases the productivity of machines and systems through predictive error detection and maintenance. mayr® power transmission presents its brake technology 4.0 at the Hanover Trade Fair 2018.
With Industry 4.0, the Internet of Things and Services enters companies. That’s why mayr® power transmission as the leading manufacturer is already offering reliable safety brakes, which are equipped for the challenges of the forth industrial revolution. Brake technology 4.0 stands for intelligent monitoring modules, by which mayr® power transmission sets new standards. The modules such as the ROBA®-brake-checker and the ROBA®-torqcontrol monitor safety brakes easily and quickly or facilitate the even and smooth deceleration of machines and devices.
MORE INFORMATION
Permanent brake monitoring and predictive maintenance The ROBA®-brake-checker module operates without sensors. Instead, it analyzes current and voltage and recognizes the movement of the armature disk. Thus it knows the condition of the brake. In addition to the switching condition, the module can also deduce the temperature, wear and tension path or tensile force reserve, i.e. whether the magnet still has sufficient force to attract the armature disk. Using the new module, a significantly larger number of processes can be depicted during the monitoring of the safety brakes than was hitherto the case. Within this time, the machine operator can undertake specific maintenance in coordination with their work process – maintenance with foresight, so to speak. The ROBA®-brake-checker is now available in a design for AC voltage. In addition, another version of the module will also in future take on the supply of the brake, and as a result, replace the rectifier. Switching condition monitoring and brake control are therefore combined in one device.

Braking movements gently and in a controlled manner For applications, which require braking torque control in addition to status monitoring, mayr® power transmissions provides the braking torque control module ROBA®torqcontrol. It shares the features of the ROBA®-brakechecker and can also change the level of the braking torque in operation through purposeful influencing of current and voltage. As a result, devices and machines can be evenly and gently decelerated. The ROBA®-torqcontrol module permits the development of control loops and brakes movements intelligently – the ideal basis for its use in smart, interconnected machines.
This module has been developed in collaboration with the company Pilz, especially for applications which have to fulfil requirements for the protection of people according to standards regarding functional safety. The ROBA®SBCplus module must reliably interrupt the current in the magnetic coil when the brake is switched off. For this purpose, the module operates with wear-free electronic semi-conductors, and as a result achieves practically unlimited switching frequency and switching reliability. This brake control module performs reliable switching time monitoring. Furthermore, an integrated plausibility check is conducted through the evaluation of the release monitoring signals. The evaluations of the switching states and the return signal therefore permit reliable error diagnostics. This permits creep errors which influence on the switching times, for example increasing wear, to be detected in due time. The reliable ROBA®-SBCplus brake control unit is type-certified by TÜV Süd (Technical Inspectorate, Southern Germany) and can be used up to the highest Performance Level PLe and Safety Integrity Level (SIL) 3.
Reliable brake control Another module to continuously monitor the switching condition of the brakes is the safe brake control ROBA®SBCplus. In this module, mayr® power transmission offers safety brakes and safe brake control in a complete package. 20 | Industry USA | July 2018

PIN OVEN CHAINS FOR THE BEVERAGE CAN INDUSTRY
Pin oven chains from iwis for the beverages can industry.
Cans are still the “classic” drinks packaging choice in the food and beverage industry. After forming, one of the next high-speed production processes the cans undergo is painting. Specially-developed roller chains have become the preferred conveying technology for this rapid transfer, during which the cans are held in place by protective heads connected to the chain by special transport pins.
T
he pin oven chains (POC) developed by iwis offer a number of unique advantages. The precision roller chains themselves are particularly wear-resistant and they are treated with the iwis special lubricant IPP before they leave the factory. IPP is PWIS-free, non-drip, suitable for high temperatures and approved for use in the food industry.
MORE INFORMATION
Transport pins can be replaced easily without breaking the chain or removing it from the machine. Three different fixture possibilities are available – pins are integrated in the outer chain plates, secured with special nuts or fixed with split-pins. Users can also choose between two pin versions: flexible or snap-off. The flexible pin – for example after an accidental impact caused by a conveyor jam – can be quickly and easily bent back to its originally position by hand. The advantage of the snap-off pin is that it will break off in the event of a shock or accidental contact with an obstacle during operation. The snap-of solution is possible because both transport pins and chain pins have the hardness and thus the same wear resistance. This can be of importance 20 | Industry USA | July 2018

when producing steel cans with a risk of jamming the production machines, when the pins do not break. The length of the transport pins can also be adapted to the requirements of individual specifications. Finally, the standard protective head is made from highquality PEEK which is heatproof up to at least 260 °C and is resistant to a variety of chemicals. A high-temperature elastomer head (ECT) developed and pa-tented by iwis is also available as an alternative. With its design, it can be replaced easily without the need for complex tools and it is robust in everyday operation because its damping properties are similar to those of a spring. It is made from PWIS-free material that is approved for use in contact with food. Well-equipped in every respect: a comprehensive range of spare parts and user-friendly tools for assembling and dismantling chains round off the iwis pin oven chain programme.
NEWS
The protective head of the pin oven chains can be adapted to customer specifications.
All versions of the POChain have spring-loaded protective heads on the transport pins to protect the conveyed hollow objects.
iwis is always able to offer can manufacturers a highquality conveyor chain solution that is tailormade for their individual application requirements. The hallmark of quality: all production series use JWIS brand precision roller chains, so long service life and reliable aftersales service are guaranteed. In addition to pin oven chains, Munich-based chain specialist iwis provides a full product range for all drive and conveying applications. This also includes precision and high-performance roller chains, conveyor chains, maintenance-free and corrosion-resistant chains, power and free conveyor chains, special-purpose conveyor chains, flyer chains, flat-top chains, modular belts, chains and accessories for agricultural machinery, and timing drives for the automotive industry.

Series SVBKA
SVBA screw-type distributor blocks
Hövelhof - CONTA-CLIP expands their range of screw-type distributor blocks by adding the new SVBA and the SVBKA types for energy distribution in control cabinets. Both series are suited for copper leads as well as for aluminum conductors.
F
eaturing an extremely compact design, these units facilitate potential or power distribution without the need for additional accessories. SVBA blocks are sized for small wire cross sections of 1.5 mm² up to a massive 500 mm².
In contrast, all models of the SVBKA screw-type distributor series feature just two connections and facilitate the quick and easy contacting of two conductors with cross-sections ranging from 1.5 mm² up to 240 mm² for currents up to 425 A and voltages of 1000 V.
They connect an incoming conductor with a large cross section with up to six conductors with smaller cross sections. SVBA blocks are available in five versions for currents between 85 A and 415 A, as well as in a special 1100 A version with three terminal connections. They feature rated voltages of 1000 V AC and up to 1500 V DC.
For smaller conductor cross-sections, touch safety is ensured with optional covers. SVBKA blocks provide a major advantage compared to conventional terminal blocks due to their significantly slimmer and therefore space-saving design. Both SVBA and SVBKA series blocks can be mounted by simply snapping them onto a TS35 DIN rail. They can also be fixed directly to a mounting plate via a screw flange on the side. Both series ensure IP20 ingress protection for all wire cross sections.
MORE INFORMATION
All models except for the special high-current version are easy to mount by snapping them together with a plastic connecting clip. Colored marking columns for N, PE and phase allow users to code and re-code the SVBA blocks as needed. A built-in label on the block additionally shows the connected phase. SVBA blocks with up to 380 A for the North American market are UL-certified.

ESTERLINE CONNECTION TECHNOLOGIES – SOURIAU HAS BEEN A RECOGNIZED NAME IN THE NUCLEAR INDUSTRY FOR SEVERAL DECADES
Many industries require connectors to interconnect the electrical and electronic systems that are vital to controlling their processes and ensure the safety of equipment. The nuclear industry is no exception to this. Thanks to its many years of collaboration with leaders in the industry, SOURIAU possesses extensive experience in meeting the requirements of nuclear environments.
MORE INFORMATION
Nuclear — a common term for special environments It is easy to understand that the operating conditions for equipment used at a nuclear power plant (NPP) per se and the operations involved in the nuclear fuel cycle are not the same. The connectors used inside a nuclear reactor are only disconnected and reconnected during maintenance outages and must ensure tight connections over periods of 40 to 60 years. Connectors used in the fuel cycle, however, are frequently disconnected and reconnected and the harsh environmental conditions mean that they must be robust and easy to handle. The three K1, K2, and K3 qualification levels that are specific to NPP environments make it possible to meet the safety requirements in various areas of use. Connectors that withstand any harsh conditions Current standards that apply to NPPs include ISO 9001 and RCC-E (Design and construction rules for electrical equipment of nuclear islands). RCC-E is specific to the nuclear industry. Published by the French authorities, it contains more than 400 pages of rules on the design, manufacture, materials, qualifications, and testing of components and 20 | Industry USA | July 2018

equipment. The other major standard is published by the IEEE Standards Association and is similar to RCC-E. China is currently drafting a protocol that is based on these two standards. Over the years, SOURIAU’s 8NA K1-qualified screw-lock connectors have been modified to meet the requirements of European Pressurized Reactors (EPR) and now feature shells and receptacles fitted with stainless steel electromagnetic shields. These connectors come in two shell sizes and accommodate 16 and 20-gauge contacts in pin layouts of 3 to 24 contacts. The arrangement most commonly used for connecting sensors and instrumentation inside NPPs consists of twelve 20-gauge contacts. The 8NA series is RCC-E K1 qualified, meaning that it has passed a series of tests, the most important of which include simulation of the lifespan of a NPP (40 years), radiation resistance, simulation of an earthquake and accident, vibration resistance, and resistance to very high pressures. These severe tests are conducted by an independent laboratory over a one-year
NEWS
period and are then validated by experts at EDF (France’s electricity supplier). Fuel cycle, hot cells, and glove boxes The conditions inside hot cells are harsh: radiation and temperature levels are high and chemicals are ever present. In most cases, operators have to use remote manipulators or sealed gloveboxes in order to handle equipment and objects. Although the connectors inside hot cells and gloveboxes are not subjected to the same conditions as those inside reactors, they are frequently mated and detached. They therefore must be easy to handle, long lasting, reliable, and resistant to radiation and chemicals. SOURIAU’s ULC push-pull connectors meet these four requirements. They come in four shell sizes and 45 layouts that accommodate coaxial, power, and signal contacts. By design, they are bulkier and feature longer shells and preguidance forks for easier handling via manipulators and gloveboxes. This connector family also features sealed bulkhead penetrations for connections between the inside of the containment and the outside environment.
Axel Paré, product manager for nuclear-grade connectors, says, “SOURIAU’s experience in the nuclear industry makes it one of the few manufacturers in the world capable of offering nuclear-grade interconnection solutions. We have established a strong market presence in Europe and the USA. China represents a huge potential for growth and we are working to achieve this from our office in Shanghai. More than 6,000 K1, K2, and K3 connectors are produced at Marolles-en-Brie each year. Nuclear energy is a long-term market that requires an ability to anticipate trends and a level of consistency. In the case of our new products, we work with research institutes like CEA and we have just received EDF qualification for half-connector wiring harnesses. We are also looking into the possibility of integrating fiber optics into our connectors. Although the nuclear industry accounts for just 5% of SOURIAU’s turnover, it is a model in terms of design and manufacturing methods, rigor, and quality that has benefited the entire group.”
MORE INFORMATION
SOURIAU Paris-Est — a center of excellence for nucleargrade connectors SOURIAU’s Paris-Est site in Marolles-en-Brie occupies a special position in the company’s industrial operations. It is here where products that meet specific markets such as the nuclear industry are designed and manufactured. The engineers at the Paris-Est site work in close collaboration
with research institutes and key buyers. The manufacturing processes are rigorous and highly codified. For example, on operator assigned with producing a batch of connectors makes an oral commitment via a process that summarizes the various inspections required during the manufacturing process.

It’s fast, accurate, and thanks to tooling suppliers such as Kennametal, a broad assortment of predictable, cost-effective cutting tools is available to tame even the most difficult hardened steels, superalloys, and chilled irons. But as the aerospace, automotive, power generation, and other industries continue to develop even more robust metals, cutting tool manufacturers must evolve as well with high-performance tooling to tackle these materials.
Best of Breed That’s exactly what Kennametal Inc. has accomplished recently with its introduction of KBH10, a new breed of polycrystalline cubic boron nitride (PcBN) hard turning insert designed specifically for the challenges of today’s demanding market place. Helmut Gremer, senior engineer for global machining technology, says the new insert complements Kennametal’s existing PcBN grades KBH20 and KB5630 by providing the extreme wear resistance needed to successfully turn hardened metals up to 65Rc, especially where very fine surface finishes are required.

“We’ve seen that many manufacturers are decreasing the allowable tolerances on bearing journals, rings and pistons, gear hubs, and so on,” he says. “For example, dimensional tolerances of < 4 μm or less are increasingly common, as are surface requirements better than Ra < 0,4 μm. This new grade closes the gap for these and other customers that need superior tool life when finishing such parts.” In one example, a well-known automotive manufacturer was able to more than double tool life—from 150 pieces per edge to 350 pieces—during an internal facing operation on a 140 mm (5.5 in.) diameter 5115 alloy steel bearing hub 20 | Industry USA | July 2018

NEWS Kennametal’s latest hard-turning solution, KBH10, has a unique shape edge preparation that resists crater and flank wear while reducing vibration, even in interrupted cuts.

that was previously heat-treated to 62 HRC. And a driveshaft producer achieved similar results, increasing tool life from 250 to 450 pieces per edge when turning 58 HRC UC1 (similar to S53) steel on its vertical turret lathes, consistently maintaining a 6 Rz surface finish while doing so. Making the Hard Case In each instance, cutting speeds of 180 m/min were used (590 sfm), with depths of cut averaging 0.15 mm (0.006 in.) and feedrates ranging from 0.22 to 0.32 mm per rev (0.0087 to 0.013 ipr). Also in each case, the customer saved thousands of dollars annually in insert costs compared to its existing solution, while substantially reducing downtime due to tool changeovers.
This last part is accomplished through KBH10’s unique edge preparation. Rather than the traditional waterfall or radiused hone applied to virtually all PcBN cutting tools, Kennametal has developed a special shape that is both sharper and freer cutting than competing solutions yet still tough enough to withstand the rigors of hard turning. “Five years ago, no one was able to generate edges like this, let alone measure them,” Gremer explains. “But thanks to some fairly recent advances in metrology and machine tool technology, we can consistently produce this hone shape, which reduces passive cutting forces by up to 40-percent. Together with KBH10’s tougher substrate—also new— we’ve produced an insert that achieves a fine balance between wear-resistance, hardness, and sharpness. www.kennametal.com

The KBH10 substrate is completely new. Its PcBN composition is designed for up to 20-percent higher cutting speeds while providing equivalent or in some cases far greater tool life. Kennametal engineers were frequently able to achieve Ra 0.2 and Rz 1surface roughness, while consistently maintaining the profile and dimensional tolerances noted earlier. And because KBH10 is available in several different geometries and edge preparations, it’s quickly becoming the go-to insert for a wide cross section of manufacturers and their turning applications.
pressure and therefore heat is reduced, crater and flank wear are likewise reduced, extending tool life. There’s also a lower occurrence of the white layer that plagues many hard part machining operations.”
“KBH10 is ideally suited for fine-finishing operations yet is tough enough to handle light interruptions or varying depth of cut operations,” says Gremer. “And because cutting 20 | Industry USA | July 2018
