The tobacco epidemic is one of the biggest public health issues that we are facing for years. It has killed more than 8 million people a year around the world. Around 1.2 million of those deaths are the result of non-smokers being exposed to second-hand smoke. Among those smokers who are aware of the dangers of tobacco, most of them want to quit. Therefore, counseling and medications can raise a tobacco user's chance of successful quitting.
On this year's WNTD Campaign, we would like to raise more awareness about the #TobaccoBreakup movement by inviting all of our members to take part in helping the smokers to quit. We are providing you with this booklet regarding Smoking Cessation and tips about helping people on quitting smoking. This booklet could be used by a general audience.
