GENERAL INFORMATION

The Board and staff of IPWEAQ have pleasure in welcoming you to the state conference 2017. The following details may assist with your arrival at the conference.

Conference Venue

IPWEAQ 2017 is being held at the Townsville Entertainment and Convention Centre (TECC):

TECC is centrally located overlooking Townsville’s iconic Castle Hill and is positioned on the waterfront which is within close distance to Magnetic Island, the central business district, the Strand precinct and is close to many hotels and restaurants. Please see the venue site plan below and note the following room allocations:

• Auditorium – Exhibition hall and refreshment breaks

• Palm Room – Main plenary room and breakout streams 1, 4, 7 and 10

• Magnetic Room – Breakout streams 2, 5, 9 and 12

• Yongala Room – Breakout streams 3, 6, 8 and 11

• Orpheus Room – Speakers prep room

• Foyer – Registration desk and Welcome Function (Tuesday 24 October)

Getting There

Public Transport is available by Sunbus and Townsville Taxis - www.tsvtaxi.com.au www.sunbus.com.au/sit_townsville.

Public car park spaces are available surrounding TECC (including Casino, Coast Guard car park, Council parking near Enterprise House, along the strand and Anzac Park)

Townsville Airport is only 10 minutes away from the Centre. Car hire is available at the airport.

Registration

The registration desk is located in the Foyer of the TECC. We encourage you to register early prior to the welcome function.

All delegates must visit the registration desk to collect their satchels and lanyards which must be worn while attending the conference.

Registration desk opening times are:

Tuesday 24 October 2017 1200 – 1900

Wednesday 25 October 2017 0730 – 1600

Thursday 26 October 2017 0730 – 1700

Dress Code

Conference program, welcome and closing functions: smart casual, no suits or ties.

Gala awards ceremony and dinner: business / cocktail dress

Delegate Onsite App

IPWEAQ 2017 offers a convenient user-friendly App with the conference program, speaker bios, exhibition details, social functions etc.

The App will alert delegates to any changes or important announcements throughout the conference.

Excellence Awards Registration

Please confirm your attendance at the Excellence Awards Gala Dinner (Wednesday 25 October) with IPWEAQ staff at registration.

A table seating plan will be available at the registration desk for delegates to reserve their seats up until Wednesday at 1:15pm. After this time, delegates may choose any of the remaining unallocated seats. Please arrive early!

Photography and Recording

Delegates are advised that a professional photographer will be in attendance throughout the conference program. Photographs will be taken of delegates, speakers and exhibitors during sessions, social functions and at the awards night. If you would like to arrange a group photo of you and

your colleagues, please be sure to arrange this directly with the photographer.

Additionally, JPL Media will be recording conference proceedings including all sessions, keynote presentations and plenary sessions. They will also conduct interviews of delegates, exhibitors and speakers. If you do not wish to be interviewed or photographed, please advise the operator and immediately move out of camera range for photographs. Otherwise, consent is taken as given.

Exhibition

The IPWEAQ 2017 trade exhibition is located in the Auditorium.

The exhibition will be open during the following hours:

Thursday 26 October 2017 0730 – 1500

We encourage you to visit our valued exhibitors who supply the products and services that enable you to perform your role. The part they play contributing to our community and Queensland communities cannot be understated. Please show your appreciation with your time.

A number of trade exhibitors will be conducting business card draws to be drawn following morning tea on Thursday 26 October. The winners and their prizes will then be displayed during the plenary session just prior to the lunch break, and announced on the attendee App.

President’s Charity

Each of our presidents nominate a charity for IPWEAQ to support during their term. Joe Bannan has chosen the Cancer Council Queensland.

At this year’s conference there will be a number of opportunities for you to support the President’s Charity. Brent Tate will join us for morning tea following his keynote address on Thursday 26 October and will happily sign items and take photos with delegates for a charity donation.

At this year’s coffee cart sponsored by McArthur, there will be a collection tin for you to donate coins.

We will also be selling Daffodil Day pins at the conference registration desk and encourage delegates to purchase a pin for $5 to wear throughout the conference.

Wifi

The TECC provides free wireless internet in all public areas. Connection: TECC Free Wifi

No password required – simply accept the terms and conditions.

Dietary Requirements

If you have informed us of any special dietary requirements (vegetarian, vegan, coeliac etc), this information has been provided to the TECC catering team and any external venues for social events you have registered to attend.

It is requested that you make yourself known to the catering staff during meal breaks and social functions. All efforts have been made to accommodate your requests.

Feedback

After the conference, we will email your certificate of attendance with CPD hours stated together with a conference feedback form.

Your feedback on this event is valued and will guide us for future events. Thank you in anticipation.

Using your conference App, please vote after each presentation you attend so that we may collate results for a ‘best paper award’. The winner will be announced at the conference close during the President’s Address.
