Welcome to Goliath’s new catalogue. We have worked hard over the last 12 months to develop a range of new products that as well as looking good,are designed to solve specific industrial problems. Investment in a Lectra 3D footwear solution for shoe design enables our experienced R &D staff to rapidly design and develop new products.

Goliath are licensed to sell and distribute GORE-TEX® products. These are manufactured in-house using the highest quality leathers and materials. All premium GORE-TEX® products are continually tested using patented product techniques to ensure waterproofness and breathability.

We operate 3 alternative lasting processes: conventional flat lasting, Strobel – type force lasting and GOODYEAR welt lasting which gives us the flexibility to meet most requirements.

Our investment in CAD/CAM material cutting and computerised stitching enables us to stay at the leading edge of technology and superiority.

We have invested extensively in 5 alternative sole moulding processes which means we have the capability to offer single density vulcanised rubber (DV), dual density injected rubber (DDR) soles and dual density polyurethane (PU) with the option of a rubber or thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) wear layer all directly injected to the footwear.

Our in-house laboratory allows us to test all raw materials as well as finished and semi-finished goods. We support this in an ISO 9001: 2008 environment and as members of SATRA to audit and certify our products.

DUAL DENSITY RUBBER (DDR)

Goliath’s revolutionary Dual Density Rubber soling system is now stronger and lighter than ever before. The new DDR sporty sole unit is 140grams lighter than the previous DDR sole, injected with air for even more cushion comfort.

The new improved DDR formula offers the same revolutionary principle in that it uses a highly durable nitrile rubber outsole combined with a special air injected midsole for cushioned comfort and excellent shock absorption.

This Dual Density Rubber combination is then injected onto the sole for the strongest bond possible.

PU-RUBBER

PU-Rubber Soling technology combines the lightweight, shock absorbing properties of PU with a durable, heat resistant, high grip rubber outsole. This sole offers flexibility and an athletic feel and is suitable for most industrial work areas.

DUAL DENSITY PU FOOTBED

This specially engineered footbed is made from two densities of polyurethane so that it is as comfortable as possible whilst absorbing all the shocks in everyday work. Our DDPU footbed has a moisture wicking top cloth and a special stitching line to aid conductivity and enhance the antistatic performance of the footwear.

STEEL TOE CAP

At Goliath Footwear, we only use steel toe caps from the worlds most reputable suppliers. The steel toe cap is designed in such a way that when integrated into the shoe system it provides a survival space for the toes keeping them safe and comfortable.

MICROFIBRE

Goliath’s Clean Room / Food Processing range features microfibre uppers. This material is designed to withstand more instances of liquids and splashes in the work environment ensuring a greater performing long lasting product.

ATOMIUM ANTI-CLOG TECHNOLOGY

The ATOMIUM sole has been specially designed for super slip resistance. The cleats are evenly, openly spaced, with gentle curves and nowhere for dirt to get lodged. As the wearer walks, the shape of the sole changes and any waste is then dislodged.’

POLYCARBONATE NON-METAL TOE CAP

Goliath footwear’s non metallic range features a toe cap made from Polycarbonate. This material is ultra tough and extremely lightweight and often used in the production of bullet resistant windows and doors as well as being used for helmets and other PPE equipment.

These toe caps have been developed and produced in our own factory to ensure ultimate quality and performance.

The Supertrax range features high traction sole materials and a tread pattern designed for maximum traction with many leading ledges, maximum ground contact and liquid run off.

Quality

With so many ‘waterproof’ membranes on the market - how can you be sure is worth the investment? The answer is in the testing lab.

• Standard EN ISO 20345 requires only 1000 steps in shallow water and permits 3 cm(3) ingress of water. In contrast the Gore lab simulates extended walking in the rain with 300,000 to 500,000 flex cycles corresponding to a walking distance of min 300km.

• In the Gore Crumple Test, fabrics are squashed and stretched repeatedly in extreme temperatures for hours on end to test for leakage.

• In the Gore centrifugal test boots are filled with water, the centrifuge rotates with 240 turns per minute - enormous centrifugal forces press water out of the boot but not even the tiniest leak can get past the test. At the Goliath factory 2% of the daily production must be tested for 30 minutes in the Gore centrifuge.

Testing at this level is reassurance that Goliath boots will perform for an extended lifetime making the significantly stand out performance membrane.
