Factory / Production YDS Footwear, part of the Yakapoglu group, has superb state of the art manufacturing facilities. Our in-house laboratory allows us to test all raw materials as well as finished and semi-finished goods. We support this in an ISO 9001: 2004 environment and membership of SATRA to audit and certify our products.
Investment in a Lectra 3D footwear solution for shoe design enables our experienced R&D staff to rapidly design and develop new products. This ensures that our customers benefit from consistently high quality performance products.
YDS are licensed to sell and distribute GORE-TEX速 products. These are manufactured in-house using the highest quality leathers and materials, and continuously tested using patented production techniques to ensure waterproofness and breathability. 6
We operate 3 alternative lasting processes: conventional flat lasting, Strobel – type force lasting and GOODYEAR welt lasting which gives us the flexibility to meet most requirements.
Our investment in CAD/CAM material cutting and computerised stitching enables us to stay at the leading edge of technology and superiority.
We have invested extensively in 5 alternative sole moulding processes which means we have the capability to offer single density vulcanised rubber (DV), double density injected rubber (DDR) soles and double density polyurethane (PU) with the option of a rubber or thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) wear layer all direct injected to the footwear. 7
The Quality Brand
CE Mark YDS Safety Footwear has been tested by Technology centre to the Directive for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Directive No.89/686/EEC and carries the CE mark accordingly.
EN ISO 9001:2004 YDS operates a Quality Assurance System in accordance with EN ISO 9001:2004. This provides the customer with further proof that the product is regularly monitored through a quality system and ongoing audit testing.
Guarantee of Quality All our Safety footwear is manufactured to EN specifications as indicated and fully complies with the appropriate standard and the statutory requirements where applicable. However, we do reserve the right to amend design and material specifications, where necessary.
By testing all raw materials in-house, in its accredited laboratory, Yakupoglu can test the performance and compatibility prior to usage in production line. Semi-finished and finished products are randomly picked and tested in accordance with the minimum in-house specifications along with customer specifications and EN norms. These tests allow Yakupoglu to benchmark against other products in the market and act as a performance indicator for continuous improvement to its products while easing the process of regulatory conformity.
OHSAS 18001 By having OHSAS 18001 certificate, YDS proves that its management system has been measured against a best practice standard and found compliant. Issued by a third party accreditation body/registrar, the certificate lets employees and other stakeholders know that YDS proactively protects the health and safety of its work environment. 8

SRC
Designers at YDS have developed new sole designs and improved the mix of the sole material to achive multi directional slip resistance whilst improving the grip performance of our products bearing the SRC mark. Footbeds
We use technically and specially engineered materials to ensure healthy walking day after day.
DDPU
This specially engineered foot bed is made from two densities of Polyurethane, so that it can absorb all the shocks there are while maintaining its shape. Our DDPU foot bed has a moisture wicking top cloth and a special sticking line to aid conductivity so as to enhance the antistatic performance of the footwear. This foot bed has a soft rear part for soaking up the shocks found in everyday work, and a harder forepart so that it does not soak up energy that should be used for walking.
NON-METALLIC TOE CAP
YDS footwear’s non metallic range features a toe cap made from engineering polymer. This material is ultra tough and extremely lightweight and often used in the production of bullet resistant windows and doors as well as being used for helmets and other PPE equipment. These toe caps have been developed and produced in our own factory to ensure ultimate quality and performance.
12
Flyweight™ Engineers at YDS have pioneered a massive breakthrough in PU soling technology by developing a lighter than ever PU/TPU sport sole for safety footwear. Working with the best material manufacturers in the world, and through massive investment in research and development, new ‘Flyweight™’ sole technology is a huge step forward in PU soling techniques. Based on conventional PU soles, the advanced Flyweight™ technology reduces the weight of the sole by up to 80 grams, or 6.5% without compromising any of the benefits of TPU. Taking the lead from the leisure market, YDS non-metal safety footwear products are more comfortable and shock absorbing than ever before in order to reduce lower leg fatigue in the workplace, and improve the overall wear experience.
PU RUBBER PU Rubber sole technology is combining the flexibility and lightness features of polyurethane (PU) and long lasting, heat resistance, hard wearing features of rubber. This is achieved by joining a low density polyurethane (PU) cushion layer to a an extra heavy duty outsole of nitrile rubber. By summing up the advantages of both materials, PU/Rubber soles meets the whole requirements of professionals.
Dual Density Rubber(DDR) The DDR sole system use ‘new millennium’ technology to give the customer the benefit of a nitrile rubber sole for superior wear performance combined with excellent grip, more cushion comfort and reduced weight. This is achieved by injecting a low density sponge mid layer to a high density wear layer, to provide a ‘Giant Step Forward’ in wearer comfort but maintaining the benefits of rubber outsole which is required traditionally in harsher wear environments.

UNIQLITES
This range of non-metallic lightweight safety footwear incorporates the latest in footwear technology. All styles illustrated use YDS’s new nonmetallic toe cap, developed by YDS engineers to be the best in its field. Protective midsole versions use a multi-layer textile composite, L-Protection, which has been tested and proven to be more resistant and safer than steel. Uniqlites are lightweight, more comfortable, electrically non conductive, resistant to the transmission of heat or cold and resistant to corrosion and chemical deterioration of the long life of the footwear.
The fact that these boots are 100% non-metallic makes them perfect for staff use in airports or other high security sites where metal detectors are routinely used.

DDR
YDS DDR TECHNOLOGY
The “DDR” Dual Density Rubber Sole System uses “new millennium” technology to give the customer the benefit of a nitrile rubber sole for superior wear performance combined with excellent grip, more cushion comfort and reduced weight. This is achieved by injecting a high density wear layer to a low density sponge mid layer, to provide a “Giant Step Forward” in wearer comfort but maintaining the benefits of a rubber outsole which is required traditionally in harsher wear environments. Such as foundries, construction, steel industries and so forth. Dual Density Rubber sole products are more durable and resistant to high temperature environments in comparison to PU/Rubber products

COMFORTLITES This range combines a large variety of classical and casual styling on a classical last with a direct injected double density polyurethane sole. The under set sole design gives a clean edge appearance whilst the attractive cleated pattern provides a high level of slip resistance. The heel incorporates a “Shock Absorber pad to assist wearer comfort. This footwear will appeal to personnel employed in warehouse / distribution / office environments where neat uniform appearance is required without any reduction in the wearer protection offered by more typical rugged safety boots / shoes.

Generous fit Lightweight dual density rubber sole. Padded insock Shock absorbing comfort sole
FURNACE MASTERS DDR sole is special because it maintains the durable rubber properties in a tough nitrile outer skin to withstand nicks, cuts and the extreme furnace environment. A secondary lower density sponge-like mid layer is added to the outer layer to give comfortable, shock absorbing and light weight properties. The whole DDR combination is then injected onto the sole.
CHROME TANNED LEATHER
The leather used in Furnace Masters has been tanned with vegetable tannin and then re-tanned with chromium salts. This makes the leather tough enough to withstand instances of molten metal at 1400째C.

EN ISO 20345:2004
Electrostatic Discharge, or ESD, is a single-event, rapid transfer of electrostatic charge between two objects. It is estimated that great damage is caused by ESD, particularly in the field of microelectronics. In addition to many other important safety requirements, YDS- ESD shoes play an important part in keeping static electricity in check. They help to prevent the wearer from becoming statically charged.
