As we wind down from this incredible weekend, I hope you have taken some time to get to know a local community member or fellow Dignitary, exchanged information and will always stay in touch. Tonight, we commemorate the culmination of yet another successful year in charitable efforts for our organization and community. I want to be the first to say how proud I am of Reign XIII for all they have accomplished for their year and hope they enjoy this night. I also want to say good luck to all the candidates. Your efforts in aspiring to be the future leaders of this organization are something you will always treasure. Greetings, good evening and welcome honored guests, dignitaries, members of the community and friends. Welcome to Coronation XIV “From the Big Top to the Big Game”. It gives me great pleasure to welcome you all to our great city. Please enjoy Ogden’s great hospitality for the remainder of your stay. It has been my great honor to serve as your Emperor and I will cherish the friends I have made, the people I have met and the experiences I have gained for the rest of my life. I thank the community for intrusting in me this great position and responsibility.
As I sit here reflecting on the past years experience it’s hard to believe that Coronation is just a few short weeks away. It’s with mixed emotions as I sit here thinking about the past year. It has been a year of ups and downs and challenges and I have enjoyed every minute of reigning and would not have changed a thing and will remember it for life. As many of you know my goal in this reign was to mix things up a bit and try different things and have a ton of fun in raising important monies for the great organizations and people in our great community I hope in making changes and doing things differently that I have not offended people. If I have, I am truly sorry and hope that you know that everything I did was for the best interest of this great organization. Thanks again to everyone that helped, gave suggestions or just supported the reign. It takes all of us to make this work. I know that I will forget to mention some of the great people that have touch my life during this experience and please know that everyone of you were very important in the success of my reign. I would like to start by thanking those that have made this evening possible and those that I have asked to sit on my Dias and to perform. Thanks for the time and dedication. It means the world to me. Boise - What a great town. If you have never been to this great city you need to go, they really know how to party and make you feel at home. Scott and Carmine, thanks for a great time and fun weekend. You both did Boise proud. Rodney, Selina, Andrea, and Vivica, congratulations again and hope you all enjoy this experience as much as I did. Hope you get everyone really trashed at the water party. Boise style!!!! I appreciate your support for Ogden and this reign very much. Tsunami, Craig, Reba, Norma Lee, JD, Chaise, Sasha, Marvin, Jade, Ken, and Tony you all are fantastic and have always welcomed me to your city. Spokane – Mark and Rob, thanks for everything you both have done for me over the past years. You both are great friends and I have enjoyed the time we have to get together. You both are great examples to the court system. Dietrich, I am so glad that we met and
became friends, you are a great person and I really enjoy hanging out. Can’t wait to see you and have a drink. Thanks for all your support. Denver – Robert Flores, you are an awesome individual and a great example. Thanks for taking the time to come visit our great city.
Everett – Carl and Greg, it has been a pleasure to get to know you both better over the years and I truly enjoy every time you make it down to Ogden. Sacramento – Deneka and JoWanna, I’m so glad you will be able to make it to Ogden. You both were one of the first people I met when I first started traveling the circuit. Thanks for your help with Coronation events. Tony – You are a great friend and we always have had a great time no matter what town we are in. Hope you make it to Ogden. The Bois need a drink very badly!!! Las Vegas –I didn’t get a chance to make it to your Coronation (to close to ours. LOL) but I did make it to one of your pageants while I was down there with work. I had a great time and really enjoyed your hospitality. Liquor bust, what a crazy idea. Wish it worked in Utah. Scott and Diana – Hope you enjoy your stay in our great city. Thanks for the fun in Vegas. Mark, Paul and Mary Bess it was so great to see you both. I had a great time hanging and talking. Hope to see you both in Ogden. Salem- Elinore, Howie and Matty – It was my first time in your great town and I had a blast. Thanks for asking us to do the water party. That’s one thing Ogden is known for is how to get crazy drunk… Oren Octavia and Simply Devine, congrats again you both will do a great job. Hope to see you both in Ogden.
Vancouver– My home away from home. I love to come to your town more than any. I always feel like I am in my own town. Card G, Sheila, Bradford and Chee Chee, what a weekend you all hosted. It was so fun and full of entertainment. Congrats to you all on a great and fun weekend. J.J., Shoshonna, Tony and Mia, Congrats again and good luck on a great reign. I know you all will do an amazing job. Can’t wait to see you in Ogden and in May. Brandon and Tarell, damn where do I start, two of the nicest guys you will ever meet. You both are two of my best friends and I really appreciate our friendship. I couldn’t have made it without your help, calls, texts, packages, (tarell, LOL, Bruzer Inc.) and support. I could never thank you enough. Time for Stoli!!! Jane and Shelly – I love you both very much and will never forget the long nights out drinking and talking. (Sorry Jane). Salt Lake City (Mother Court) – Wow, where do I even start? There are so many great people in this town. I could go one for pages but I won’t and sorry if I forget anyone. Nick, Champagne, Brandon, Indi, B.J. and Vivica, you all did an amazing job and I so enjoyed reigning with you all. You all should be proud of the great job you did. I cherish the friendships I made with all of you. Angela, Drake, Nikki, Nate, Alexis and Bugsy, It has been my honor to get to reign with you all. You are on a great run and I hope that the next 6 months are as great as the first 6. You all should hang your heads high. Great Job!!! ( Ya, your reign is half over, time flies trust me). Pepper (Papa), Thanks for all your support and your great example. You are a strength in the community and I’m proud to call you papa. Hell (Mama), you are one of the greatest people I have ever met. You have always supported me in every step of my court journey and I will be forever grateful. Thanks for always taking time to come up and support when you could, it meant the world to me. Time for some Hot Damn!!! Austin and Paris (Emperor and Empress 13 1/2) – Thanks for your support over the past year. You were the perfect choice to be our halves this year. Thanks for everything you have done. Tom (Krystyna) and Cade (Kennedy) – You were two of the first drag performers that I meant when I first got involved in the court system. You both have showed me much love and I appreciate you friendship. Thanks for bringing the girls out of retirement, it means the world to me and know that you are two of my favorite performers. Juan – I’m so glad you will be able to be in Ogden for my step-down. You have always been a great friend and I will enjoy having a drink with you. Sandi Panties – Thanks for all the fun and support, I have so much fun when I’m around you. Bobby C, - Thanks for your support and dedication to the court system. I think we made a great choice. Thanks for all you did on making my year easier, supporting me thru the good and bad and being a great friend all while doing the hardest job in our organization. You did a fantastic job!!! You will always be my Empress and I love you. Thanks to you all, you are the backbone of the organization and you all did a great job in throwing shows and helping in raising a ton of money. This reign couldn’t have been successful without all of your hard work. I will never forget what you all did for me. To the Board for Directors – Nikki, Stev-O, Lance, Bill, Sherry, Heidi, Marcy, Mikey, Tim, Sean, John, Tristin, Robbie, Truman, and Bobbee, thanks for keeping this organization on track and in making the tough decisions it takes to make this business run. You all played an important role in this reign. Thanks again to you all. Sherry, Heidi and Committee – Job well done as this years women’s reps, you both should be very proud on raising a ton of money for the cancer fund. I love you both. Marcy, Nikki and Committee – Thanks for your help in taking on the pageant shows. I know the first pageant was very stressful and I thank you both for handling it correctly and continuing to make the year a success. Bart, Vicki, Alan, Amy and Ames (my Family) Words cannot express how grateful I am to have such a loving and supportive family. Its hard being a gay man in a very religious family but it’s nice to have you unconditional love and know that I can talk to each of you about anything. I love you all!!! To My Prince –Steve, I cannot begin to tell you how proud I am of you this year. You did more during the reign to help me out than I could ever have expected. You were my go to guy and my right hand man. Thru the good and the bad you were a great and very important part of our team and I will never forget the time we shared reigning together. I know people doubted you and to hell with them. I never did and that’s what matters and I knew you would do great. You’re a great friend and I value our friendship forever…. Go Saints!!!! LOL!!
To My Princess – L.D. You are the one that got me really involved in this great organization and for that I am eternally grateful. You are a great example. I look up to you more than you know, I know that we don’t always see eye to eye but I respect you more than you will ever know. I don’t think I would have even thought about running for Emperor if it wasn’t for your example and trust in me as your prince. I have loved you as my princess and have appreciated all the help you have given to make this team successful. I value our friendship and love you. Thanks for the great memories.
To my Empress – Tayzia. T.T. I want you to know that I had the best time of my life and will never forget this experience as long as I live. We have laughed, cried, hugged, and cried some more but mostly laughed. I would never have done this with anyone but you and will never forget the times that we had. You are a dear friend and a fabulously great Empress. You will always be my Empress. I hope you will enjoy this
weekend as much as I plan too. You worked your butt off and deserve to enjoy your step-down. Remember all the good we did in helping people in need. I will love you forever.
To my Daughter – Kenady – I know you are a little young to understand all of this but know that what I did over the past year is probably the most important service I have done in my life. I hope one day you get to have an experience like I just went through. Know that helping people that are in need is the best service you can ever do. Thanks for understanding that every Saturday dad was going to a function and you had to find a place to go. I love you more than my life and would do anything to make your life better. I love you more that you will ever know.
Last and certainly most important, my husband – Tim, I love you with every part of my being and would never want to be with anyone but you. I know we have our issues but they are minor. Know that I would do anything for you. Thanks for introducing me to this organization some 8 years ago because without you I would not be in the place I am today. I could not have made it to the end without your help and support. I’m a better person and human being because of you. Thanks for all you support with Ken, there is no book for raising kids and sometimes I struggle but having you by my side makes it all easier and worthwhile. Coronation ball was beautiful and just what I wanted. Thanks again. I love you forever!!!! In closing, always remember that it’s this organization and the people and charities that we help and that need our support that matter. Good evening everyone! As I sit here to type my letter, I don’t even know where to begin! It just seems like yesterday I was hitting the campaign trail and running for the position of Empress 13, and now my journey is over! As I write this letter I am not going to try to name all the people that I have met from other cities in my travels, only because I know I will leave some out, so please forgive me. On my year of travels, I have traveled to some wonderful cities and experience some wonderful hospitality, My first trip as Empress 13, I went to Salem Oregon, I have never been to this city before, but can I say what a wonderful trip it was (except for the drive there, scary, snowy mountain passes). I do say I will have to go back to this city again! My next trip was to Vancouver Washington, now I have been to this city many times, and can I just say, you guys now how to party! This was by far the most fun I have had in this city (especially dancing with the band at the straight bar around the corner from the Eagles after the out of town show) Your city shows such wonderful hospitality and I always wonder how I ever make it home after visiting(most of the time I don’t remember the trip) The next coronation I went to was of course Salt Lake City, I always have fun in you city, and wish I could make it down more often, Thanks for everything SLC, your the best! Then on to my next adventure, Boise ID, wow can I just say, I have never had so much fun at a coronation before! I was so scared to go(since I was the only one of the triplets that went), but I went, had a blast and met some wonderful people! And who knew two dumb blond girls(me and Nikki Steele) could make it all the way to Idaho, by ourself, we were so proud of ourself! So that pretty much sums up the traveling that I did, I kept it short and sweet (cause if you know me, I drink just a little and sometimes don’t remember things) So now on to my own city, I don’t even know where to begin, I want to thank everyone for giving me the opportunity to reign as Empress, it has meant the world to me, even though sometimes I complain about stuff (that’s just my personality) To the board of directors, thank you for all the hard work you have put in this year. To the top 10, Thanks for everything, your the best! We have had some fun shows this year, and its all because of you! Angelina and Coco, Thanks for all you have done this year, I know setting up the sound system and lights every weekend, has to be a drag (pun intended), but we could not have done it without you guys, thanks so
much! I know we have the best city around, I feel like we are so strong as a community, and it makes me feel proud to be Empress. Now I am starting to cry so I must move on! To the President of the Board, J’Lee, OMG girl I don’t even know where to begin, Thank you for everything, I know me and Matt have drove you crazy this past year, but we couldn’t of done it without you. Thank you for keeping me on track of things that needed to get done, and reminding me of things that I don’t even think about, in order to get things done. It was an honor to call you Empress during reign X, as I served as your princess, and it has been an honor to have you as president of the board during reign 13, but more importantly, its an honor to call you friend (BFF). I know I don’t tell you often (or actually probably ever) But I do love you, just always remember that! To the Prince, Steve, I would like to personally thank you for all that you have done this year! I know at the first of the year, me personally was kind of nervous, about what would happen as the year went on, I do have to say, you did your job, you did it well, and I am proud of you! I have been honored to have you has my prince this year, Thanks for everything, I hope you enjoy yourself this evening, because you truly deserve it. Thanks again so much! To the Princess, Oh Lady Delish (Elle), where do I even begin? What an adventure we have been on this year! I know sometimes, I drive you crazy, but that is just me FUN, and CRAZY! It has been an honor to have you by my side for the past year! Thank you for always listening to the ideas that I have had, and helping with making some of those ideas happen. I know that sometimes I can be a bit “Bitchy” as you like to point out, and I do apologize for that. I couldn’t imagine having anyone else be my princess. I feel that this year has brought us closer together as friends, and I feel like that is how it should be! Its not often a girl gets to have one BFF, but I get to have two, I am so blessed to have you in my life! Thank you for everything, I hope you enjoy this night as well, because you deserve it too! Once again I would just like to say THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING! To my Emperor, Matt, I am holding back the tears as I am writing this letter. You are the best Emperor that an Empress could have! Over the past years it has been an honor to reign as Rainbow Prince and Princess VII with you, Prince and Princess X, together and now as Emperor and
Empress 13! I could not imagine doing this with anyone else but you! Thank you for letting me change my mind a hundred times, and just going with the idea’s. As you know I don’t really like to talk in public, and as we were campaigning I thought I was going to have to do a lot more talking, Who knew if we just give you a microphone you can go on forever! (LOL) Words can not even express the how grateful I am to have you in my life! As you know sometimes I am just a big party girl, and I like to just have a good time. Thank you for always having the business needs met, and standing up for what you feel needs to happen! One of things I am going to miss the most about reigning is just the random phone calls, I just love when you me for a simple question, and then we get side track and out calls last for thirty minutes, I love how we just talk about what needs to get done, then all the random stuff we talk about, ITS GREAT! I just want to say THANK YOU one more time, and let you know that I LOVE YOU. It has been an honor to serve with you this past year! I hope you enjoy your night as well, as you deserve nothing but the best! Now lets party! Good evening friends, family and community members! I hope you enjoy celebrating with us! I can’t believe that this year has already come to an end! It is a great pleasure and an honor to have you all here this evening! I have not been to as many cities as I would have liked to, so I may not know a lot of you, but look forward to meeting you and hopefully make it to your cities in the years to come! If we haven’t met, please come and introduce yourself! I don’t think I can explain how challenging yet rewarding it has been to be in this position, and I am very thankful to have been given this opportunity to serve our community. We have had such great support by so many and I know I can’t name you all and I apologize, but I love you all! SPOKANE: Rob and Joe-it was great hanging out with you last year during coronation and actually getting to know you. You are both great people and I look forward to building friendships with you. Wow! This year has been an experience I will never forget. It has been a change of pace and different view on the court system I never thought I would ever get the chance to see. The one thing I can say I am most proud of is for always having the ability to refocus on the purpose of what we do, never taking myself too serious and to find a way to have fun while doing it all. If you are one of those people that skim stepdown letters for a mention of your name in bold font, I have a twist for ya…..I feel it would be a disservice to miss anyone in particular and instead of trying to remember to include every single name of every single person that has made an impact on this reign would be absolutely impossible. Now, of course, there will be statements to some key individuals… and if you know anything about me or this past year, I am without doubt, you can guess who those few people are. I want to kick off the “thanking” list with a big nod to a certain group of people that I feel lend a very large helping hand to the charitable purpose of these organizations. My purpose for that is having a newly founded perspective and appreciation for
the time and energy that goes into “drag”. I would recommend to any “male” titleholder that has even considered drag for a year of service to your community to first of all…..think hard and make sure you have the strength and stamina…and then second, jump in and take the plunge. I would also say with 100% certainty, anyone that thinks less of the art form in the sense that is a weakness….walk a mile in heels, a corset, tights, hose, pads, makeup, wig and nails and the picture will clear up real quick that there are some very strong individuals doing that once or maybe even multiple times a week to raise money for people in need. That is a wonderful and beautiful thing and for those of you making it happen….I personally, just want to take this time to say, I was maybe one of those people that didn’t have a true appreciation for all your hard work and if no one has told you lately…..THANK YOU for all you do! I love my hometown! There is absolutely no way any of us could or should do this alone. There are definitely many a time that fundraising events come along and we all think to all ourselves “Do I have to? I don’t want to.” or you are there and the unfortunate outcome is that not very many people have chosen your event for their activity that evening and that just makes you think is it all worth it….but….you suck it up and show up (like you should) and Ogden is giving you love like no other. I belong to, what I feel to be, the best chapter there is in the ICS and I want the world to know that on nights when I am maybe not in the best of moods, Ogden, you pick me up and that sometimes is the extra umphf that just keeps on pushing me to be right there with ya making a difference in any way that we can….. together! My appreciation for you all is immense and to know that there is this understanding that it’s never ever been about “you” or “me” but the people and places we can reach out to for the enrichment of someone else’s life is a joy I will never be able to put down on any piece of paper. IRCONU and OGDEN, I love every second of standing alongside you all as a member and friend and as long as you will have me, I will make you proud and be honored to be a part of continuing to make a difference and that is a fulfillment that is indescribable! Being on the circuit this year was also a different vibe that was definitely not my norm. I have learned a lot from a lot of unexpected sources. I want to thank all the “usual” faces for accepting and appreciating that I was doing something a lil different and also recognizing that my heart is still in
the same place it always has been. To those I have met for the first time this reign….I have had a lot of fun times with you all out and about on the circuit (Oh yea, he/she still crazy!!) and I look forward to making many more memories! Speaking of that….I know Ogden has shown you a wonderful time this weekend (as usual) but IT AIN’T OVER………find me at the water party, after party….you know how we do!! XOXO Princey Poo (Steve)….Through it all, I have been blessed to have you by my side this year. You have always made me feel like something special. I hope you have accomplished all you have wanted this year and it has been worth the fight to get here. I know in your heart, doing this for the community has enormous meaning for you and even on your worst night, I can see that in your eyes! You have a lot to be proud of! Matty…..Your heart and passion blows me away! I could never even begin to imagine this….. it is surreal sitting here, writing this letter, in this position (I don’t mean sitting by the way-hehe). It is so strange to say, and I hope this doesn’t make you feel uncomfortable, but I almost feel a shared pride with you in your accomplishments this year. As I knew you would, you have done an amazing job. I respect and love that you knew the kind of Emperor you wanted to be and just went out and did it! This community looks up to you! I am very glad we got to be a part of another reign together. I love me some “X”, but I also love me some “13”!! On a personal note…..the close hold you have on the things and people that you love is a very beautiful thing and what makes it even more admirable is that you own it with a truth that is undeniable. I know we will continue to be friends and I am very happy to know that. We may not always be doing this “court” thing, but I know if you’re in it, something’s right with the world! I love ya! TT, Vernetta, Lil Fella, Rone, Roni, ?s Boy (Tayzia)….You did it! I am so freaking proud of you! This community, others and just a ton of people LOVE YOU! You have done a great job this year and I hope you know it. It has been a pleasure being your right-hand whoa-Man. Thanks for always making it fun! You know I love you! You are the white sister I never wanted but am so happy I do. You truly are my family and I can’t imagine it any other way. Just like I say “No Tayzia left behind”, please never leave me behind cuz it would break my heart. I pride myself on knowing many a side of you that I don’t think everyone gets to see all the time and please
know that you are such a bright light in this world and I am blessed to have you in my life. You better have had such a memorable weekend that we have like at least 2 new catchphrases and 1 new set of nicknames….if someone got in the way of that, let’s bury the body and giggle. Boo Bitch Boo! Forever and always! Jason….There are so many things that this little bit will never express. This princess thing has been all I wanted it to be thanks to you! You let me do something that neither of us was really sure I should do. Thanks for teaching me along the way and guiding me to be the best I could be. You did an amazing job as board president and you should be proud! I am grateful we agreed on allowing this journey into our lives. It wasn’t always easy but I am so happy to say we are strong enough to make it through anything. My love for you is endless and I look forward to the months ahead and looking to our future and planning our lives together. I cannot wait for the day, when we are old and gray”er” when things are how I always wanted them to be with you right next to me and I remember all we have done and been and cherish every single moment. I hope you were able to enjoy this step-down as much as I because I owe a lot of my success to having a love in my life that fills me up every day. I cannot say it enough – I love you!
