Chap.01 Tea Hub

Prologue

Tea poem in Swatow design

Most of my interests and enthusiasm for architecture sprouted from the books that I read about the universe when I was a teenager. One of them is Pale Blue Dot, by Carl Sagan. The humbling image of the Earth, a pale blue dot, in the vast dark cosmos made me realize that everything we think of as spectacular is just a drop of water in the ocean.

Peace, Equality, Symbiosis

Chap.03 The Lone Traveler Museum A lonely journey

I asked myself, what is the responsibility of me to preserve our Earth, the only known livable place that our lives are depending on? I found my calling in the pursue of architecture design...

I created a vernacular space through integration with natural conditions, variations of space formation and translations of local tea culture. Visitors can experience the process of tea making and finally the charm of tea tasting while strolling along a tour route with activity nodes featured by waterfront, leisure space, veranda and greens.I used semi-outdoor space for tea tasting, such that people can enjoy peaceful sceneries, observe activities of others, and feel the soothing climate in southern China.

Tea gardens provide a spacious outdoor environment for growing tea, ensuring plenty of sunshine and moisture.

In this space, people can feel the process of tea evaporation.By the appropriate sunlight and wind, and observe the change of tea form.

People can feel the process of tea rolling. By the intense space and narrow space, integrate with the high temperature.

This space form is trying to imitate the process of firing. Much more intense and pressure feeling from high walls.

The second time of firing, we can smell the tea scent at this process.

Outdoor leisure space for people to enjoy tea and nature.

Tea Hub Plan

Prototype 1: Sunlight + Prototype 3: Wind People can enjoy the sunbath while taking the tea moment.

Prototype 2: Scent This prototype offers a space to let the tea scent gather and attract people to walk to the space.

Prototype 1: Sunlight + Prototype 2: Scent The continuous space will let the scent fill in the exhibition hall.

Prototype 3: Wind Saving energy and reducing consumption.

Prototype 3: Wind + Prototype 2: Scent It is a beautiful moment for people to enjoy the tea. Experienced the scent and view.

02 Mega City Peace, Equality, Symbiosis

Assumption University Design Studio VI 2019.08-2019.10

Site: Bangrak, Thailand Individual work Instructor: Nuttee Tantilertanant

I proposed a mega idealist city of surrealism, where there can be a platform for equal communication among people from different countries. In this project, three typological spaces deform of grid: for individuals, partners, and groups. Besides, the number of people corresponds to different scales of space. The grid space is intended to maintain characteristics and independence, every person, every group, even the plants, animals and planets in this city can communicate with each other in such an egalitarian space. Let us learn to live in peace with lives, culture, civilization and nature. Like the planets in the Milky Way, in separate orbits, but contribute to the brilliance of the universe together.

In this homeland, it offers a space that can only accommodate one person to introspection. People can be free from prejudice.

The larger scale of space allows people to communicate freely and extremism no longer exists.

Infinity and Self This space provides a space for self dialogue, meeting all kinds of partners over time, and finally strengthening the strength of people's unity.

Transform Valley The valley will become a infrastructure for people's daily use, which is closely related to people's daily life. People can experience the change of space typologies through each corner.

In a new way, we stroll through every famous city and observe the city that people are accustomed to from a new perspective.

In this space where the proportion can be changed, people experience the charm of nature in the same proportion as the mountains. Observe the shocking and valuable nature.

03 The Lone Traveler Museum A Lonely Journey

Assumption University Design Studio V 2019.02-2019.04

Site: Bangkok, Thailand Individual work Instructor: Asst.Prof.Nobpadol Suvachananonda

This is a museum designed for drivers. Drivers are one of the loneliest professions in the city. They shuttle in the city every day and see a lot of people coming and going, but they rarely communicate with people. They travel from the departure station to the destination, with different people getting on and off. Drivers act as ferrymen, taking them to their destination and leaving again. So in this museum, translated drivers driving moments : start, stop, parking, rest, by the arched shape. The station sits at the crossroads of Victory Monument which is one of the busiest in Bangkok. Driver's journey transformed into a visual architectural space, the museum allows people to experience every journey of a lone traveler. Underground is a long narrow space leading to the MRT, and each space has a section to provide a rest stop, corresponding to the moment when the driver is driving.

The Victory Monument, which has become one of the most recognizable landmarks in Thailand, is surrounded by a large square surrounded by transport stations. Every day there are hundreds of buses shuttle in this area, each of the past is just passing through this period of memory, yet each bus driver in the road, day after day, on this route has been formed a profound memory. The museum will also recreate the driver's perspective, allowing passengers at every turn to experience the visual and spatial experience of a bus driver. Let each visitor to victory Monument hub station, leave their own memory fragments.

Bus Driver's Moment of Journey

Victory Monument A military monument built to commemorate Thailand's victory in the Thai-French War. Now it has become one of the important hubs in Bangkok, with developed transportation, including BTS, MRT, buses and so on, with large crowd flow.

It's a journey that evokes memories. At each bus stop of the daily commute, there are different people coming and going, people getting on and getting off the bus, and passing through a certain part of the city quickly. Physically, people leave a silhouette or a fragment of the city in their mind. For the bus driver, they will be driving in the bus route to repeat every day, and then repeat the memory, they are more familiar with the period of the movement. My intention is to create a sense of familiarity and strangeness through the arched space. Each visitor can have a deeper memory of the area and the Victory Monument.

04 Phechaburi Diary The way to capture essence of Phechaburi

Assumption University Design Studio V 2019.04-2019.06

Site: Phechaburi, Thailand Individual work Instructor: Vittvat Charoenpong

In this project, I used two different design methods of openings: static opening and dynamic opening. By doing so to observe local people, plants and scenery and capture the footprints of history. Static opening: Captures static art installations or exhibits through a strong square opening. Dynamic opening, framed the dynamic view, like street view, people talking, and such which is achieved through digging on continuous walls, including folding angles.
