DO MIXED RACE WOMEN NEED SPECIAL SKINCARE PRODUCTS? It might surprise you to learn that darker skin tones do not require special skin-care products. Why not? Because skin colour is not a skin type! Skin is skin, no matter the colour.

egardless the ethnicity or the race: we all need a healthy diet and nutrition equi librate in carbs, vitamin and proteins. Thus, with exactly the same concept, when it comes to skin care, skin is skin, no matter the colour. Skin is the body’s largest organ which is why everyone’s skin needs the same ingredients to address dry skin, acne, wrinkles, sun damage, uneven skin tone, oily skin, rosacea, sensitive skin, and so on. All of these problems affect every colour of skin. None of the research indicates that skin colour has anything to do with the skin-care products you need. It’s not that darker skin tones don’t have some physiological differences from lighter skin tones; it’s just that those differences don’t impact what products you should be using. Regardless of its color, everyone’s skin needs to follow the same basics skin-care treatments for achieve a healthy and beautiful skin. Gentle cleansing, sun protection, and state-of-the-art products for their skin type.

Regular cleansing rids the skin of excess oils and dirt and sloughs off dead skin cells. Our dry skin can be treated by using a mild exfoliant with a heavier moisturizing cream that contains nut oils or aloe. If your skin is oily, occasionally use an exfoliant with astringent properties and finish with a light, water-based moisturizer. Tea tree and citrus oils help tone skin between washings. If you battle with problem skin, avoid using harsh exfoliants on breakouts. Instead, apply a deep-cleansing mask and a moisturizer with antibacterial ingredients such as tea tree oil and lavender.
DEFINING OUR DARK SKIN Skin comes in all colors, from the palest ivory to the darkest brown and nearly every shade in between. Skin problems, however, are generally color-blind, meaning that most skin conditions can occur in every race and in all skin types. That said, there are certain skin conditions that seem to affect dark skin more frequently or with more severity. Further, many treatments used for common skin conditions can sometimes lead to even more problems when used on people of colour. But before you can learn how to protect your face and body, it’s important to know a little something about the biology of dark skin. UNDERSTANDING SKIN PROBLEM Conditions that irritate, clog or inflame your skin can cause symptoms such as redness, swelling, burning and itching. The fact is that any type of skin condition can happen regardless of the pigment of

he city can be exhausting, Lights Cars Noise. Life in office is where we spend the most time. But we live in the summer! Let us live as such. We tend to focus on the interior and often dis regard the part of the house with the highest potential to make us spend quality time. There is always new way to explore luxury in this world, and there is always spot where you can get it effortless. Beach house is the only spot where you can live in lavish style with wonderful view surrounding. There is nothing like a well decorated garden and its so simple to achieve. The element which mostly transports you to a park beach is the nature. In this case the greens bring out vivacity and give you the sense of cleaned and purity. Its not allways easy to maintain a tiny and clean garden, especially with our water supply limitations and powercuts it can become expensive and unsustaianble to water. However its very easy to solve this with a turf carpet allowing for an economical maintenance that does not require watering and time consuming gardening arrangements. need to choose the sunbed, the one with umbrella patio or the one, which straightly face the sun, is up to you, but the thing is that the ocean is just before your eyes! The wooden ‘cabanas’ topped with paglas transport straightaway to a balnear atmosphere taking you far away from the city even if youre so close. To create a perfect ambience a range of wood pieces close to one another are an excellent idea to create the ‘tropical red carpet’. The mirrored finish windows are the perfect solution for house located in hot weather the entire year. This type of window provide maximum daytime privacy, making it difficult to see inside your home during the day. At night, the mirrored windows reverse, allowing the orange and pink sunset light to highlight your room. In fact, you wont need to shut blinds or curtains anymore. This windows, also reduces dramatically the amount of heat, glare and UV entering your room. An excellent solution for managing your homes cooling costs, blocking glare on a monitor or television, or preventing UV damage to interior furnishings.

THE ARCHITECT The Angolan-Portuguese architect Carlos Manuel Costa has won multiple awards and is one of Portugal’s most sought after contemporary architects. He takes inspiration from the modern style and it combines with a natural and rustic materials. In fact, the house completes the design with such artistic and sophisticated feature by combing mirrored windows with unique walnut wooden wall. The house is made from benched concrete covered by oiled oak walnut wood. The final structure, the ‘main house’, contains the living space and kitchen, as well as the four double bedrooms with en-suite bathroom. The two bedrooms on the front face Atlantic Ocean, the two bedrooms on the back have stunning views over the city centre. Speaking of the idea behind the concept, the Carlos Costa says: “The owners were deeply involved with the design and execution from the project’s conception. Wilderness, nature, relax were key elements, and the bedrooms and their windows-walls are physically separated. As for the living room and the kitchen, conviviality, livability and minimalism were a real obsession when conceiving the interior architecture.” Crafted in wood with a larch façade, the house has floor-to-ceiling sliding glass windows on the first floor. The design is based on a modular “snowflake” concept, so called because of the crystal-like formations

THE CHOICE OF COLOURS: Instead of using the traditional Portuguese green colour for the windows, he chose mirrored blue, which creates a strong contrast with the oak walnut colour of the wood. The choice of blue was not casual; in fact blue is the complementary of the colour of the sea. In fact, the mirrored glass windows reflect everything there is in the horizon. The Ango-

The Blue Pearl of Morocco
CHEFCHAOUEN
In Morocco every city has a colour, the Pink Marrakesh, the Yellow Meknes, and Chefchauen, “The Blue Pearl” as it is often called by locals. In this issue we will explore the Chefchaouen and get lost in her streets painted with infinite tonality/shadows of blue.
C
Beautifully perched beneath the raw peaks of the Rif, Chefchaouen is one of the prettiest towns in Morocco. Located in the north-west coast of Morocco, is renamed “the blue pearl” for its buildings in shades of blue. The city was founded in 1471, as a small fortress which still exists to this day to fight the Portuguese invasions of northern Morocco. Chefchaouen or Chaouen, as it is often called by Moroccans, refers to the shape of the mountain tops above the town, that resemble two horns (chaoua) of a goat. “Chef Chaouen” derives from the Berber word for horns, Ichawen.
from Hitler. Jews introduced the blue as symbol of the sky and heaven, and as reminder to lead a spiritual life.
HISTORICAL BLUE Chefchaouen’s blue-rinsed houses, buildings and walls are a popular subject of interest. It is said that, the walls were painted
ACTIVITIES While tourism has definitely taken a toll on the city, with approximately two hundred hotels catering to the summer influx of European tourists, its authenticity makes the effort worth full. Chefchaouen is the native area of goat cheese, as well as a popular shopping destination of tourists. In fact, it offers wool garments and woven blankets and many other native handicrafts that are not available elsewhere in Morocco. Despite the numerous mosques in the town, as first, the most particular activity to do is walking around this city and getting lost in the silent narrow streets, following the red dress of a old woman or the henna of another.

MUST SIGHTSEEING TOUR: Chefchaouen is split into an eastern half, and a western half. The principal route of the new city is the Medina, one of the most attractive in Morocco. All walls are painted in blue, and the houses have multicolour terracotta flowerpots hanging from the windows or outside the doors. The Uta el-Hammam Plaza, located in the heart of the medina, is surrounded with restaurants and cafes, all serving typical and tradition meals. The Kasbah and the adjacent Grande Mosque have just been restored.
