Personality Sculpture This piece of art was made by myself, actually, it is the sculptural representation of myself as a young designer in the field of architecture who always thinks intricately about architecture and willing to learn new things. This iron dust which I had found in my father's metal's workshop I merged them together piece by piece and shaped it like a human brain which has the power to invent new possibilities in the field of architecture and design. My intention was bringing together those metal pieces that would demonstrate the representational renderings of my mind and its abstraction. "Sculpture as a way to free architecture from those constraints, suggesting that when buildings begin to build a formal language on the informal precedents of abstract sculpture and assemblage they can take on the liberating possibility of the indeterminate, making it clear that they could just as easily have been put together in other ways’ John Chase 1992

Study Of Light and Space Light is fundamental for space and essential for human well-being and it is the success of any building. Light quality affects human behavior, health, comfort, and mood. “Space and light and order. Those are the things that men need just as much as they need bread or a place to sleep” Le Corbusier, August 27, 1965. Light, space and human they affect and work with each other. Space needs light to illuminate; light needs space to receive it, the light within the space change human experience. They are close relation like people need bread or place to sleep. Light is the soul of architecture design. Light allows us to see, to know where we are and what around us. Beyond exposing things to view and feel, light models those objects to enhance visual and to help us define the physical world. Nothing would be visible without light, the light also makes it possible to express and show to the mind’s eye things that elude the physical one. Light helps us redefine the relationships of people with the environment and with themselves.

"Five" Pillars Of Islam - A Mosque Islam is based on five fundamental pillars, Touheed, Prayer, Fasting, Zakat, Hajj. The dome is the integral element in Islamic architecture the architectural morphology of the space representing through five slanting structural elements which are placed in the direction of "Kaaba" the holiest place of Islam towards where all Muslims turn during prayer. The starting point of slanting form was skewed to result in a rectangular plan for the mosque, an essential planning principle for the linear order of prayer. The rectilinear skylights in slanting structural elements were introduced for the natural daylight throwout the day. A courtyard and additional prayer area will be used for Friday, eid and funeral prayers. The sloping interior of the prayer hall leads your eye to the sky and white color of the prayer hall reflected the harmony and simplicity in the space.

Visual Architecture "One picture is worth a thousand words, a single word can conjure up in the mind's eye a thousand images" Francis D.K Ching. For me, architectural visualization is the key to present my rational thoughts in a manner where it attracts the end user of the project. Through visual art and digital mediums, I can draw and visualize various characteristics of my art and architecture. Architectural visualization also helps me to express my artistic expressions through various digital mediums.

Healing Through Architecture - A Hospital The design proposals seek to enhance the overarching architectonic identity of the hospital and to integrate buildings and landscapes in various ways. The design proposal creates an enclosed form surrounding large, well-lit courtyards. The structure is transparent, a circulation loop connects the individual treatment areas and allows for flexibility and overlaps between neighboring functions. The result is a logical, self-explanatory structure. There are efficient and highly functional links making it easy to find your way around the building. The individual and distinctive architecture feature sterling materials, in combination with a strong emphasis on landscape, including a series of outdoor spaces with integrated planting and paving successfully exploiting every opportunity to create healing architecture. One special characteristic of the building is the layout of the 2nd-floor pediatric unit, which includes an enclosed and protected playground, resembling a green oasis, on the roof.

Hospitals do not exist in a vacuum. They influence and are influenced by the manifold of demographic epidemiologic economic and socio-cultural settings within which they operate.

Green terraces provide different activities that correspond to the adjacent floor by which they are accessed. These terraces allow the building to have a one-story feel that would be otherwise impossible without open space.

Programmatic Distribution Vertical distribution of the programs enhances the workflow of the staff. It also increased the interdepartmental relationship between the various departments.

30

Healing Approach Proposed green spaces in the hospital which helps to reduce patients' anxiety and stress, accelerate recovery. These kinds of spaces also serve as shorten hospitalizations, reduce medication use, lessen pain, and promote a sense of well-being.

Urban Village - Sustainable Dwellings This project depicts the bitter story of life and living. The quality standard of living is below the line for an average person there are no basic amenities. The dwelling of the community towards the personal hygiene and grooming of self begin. To upgrade the standards of a living community. We need proper planning in terms of the basic facility. One thing that we need to understand is the event is a town or city or village it is incomplete without basic facilities. A community that is well sustained and can face the challenges of weather conditions Global warming and its effects are incredibly increasing due to infrastructure projects. I have communicated with such strategies that would never less decrease the effects on the living community with a smart design approach. This design project is dedicated to Ar. Siraj Mehmood who was our profound teacher. He worked on sustainable design strategies and how to control the temperature inside a space with more productive and smart ways.

Communal Garden A communal garden (often used in the plural as communal gardens) is a normally formal garden for shared use by a number of local residents, typically in an urban setting. Despite the name, and the fact that they typically look like a small public park, such gardens are normally privately or jointly owned, with sharing of maintenance costs. Access may be restricted by locked gates, with keys available for residents, or only unlocked during the daytime. They are often surrounded by tall railings designed to keep people out.

The Basic building block represents a dwelling footprint around the communal garden.

The communal garden helps people to interact and it creates a vibrant community around the dwelling.

Crossing from the communal garden allows the household to communicate with other building blocks.

The outer facade of the house has brick cladding and inner face has wood cladding which helps to maintain u value of the house.

37

Design Brief The dwelling concept is about the design of housing units located at a southeast border of Lahore according to the passive principles to meet the standards of a low carbon building. Two types of housing units have introduced house for 5 persons and house for 12 persons. The new construction systems have been integrated into the structure in order to create a sustainable living.

A uniform shape represents balance & harmony between space and the household.

Without any activity the shape it is an only 2-dimensional shape with the activity in it becomes 3-dimensional space

Courtyard act like the heart of the house. it welcomes natural light and ventilation into space.

The backyard of the house serves as a kitchen garden and helps to communicate with the surroundings.

The new construction techniques have been introduced in the project which is very effective to Lahore's climate. Using the cavity wall construction system in houses which will help to maintain u value of the house. Using the courtyard system which will bring the natural light as well as the natural ventilation in the house.

Bridge Of Hope - Elation For Underprivileged This thesis project attempts to focus on the potential of underutilized or leftover urban spaces “Urban Voids their identification and analysis as to how they have been created and how they could be brought into Use. The Urban voids are basically those leftover spaces in our cities which are not used potentially. Now, what is Elation? Elation is providing abundance to those who are in a low life state or making their experience a higher state of life. This particular project, spaces underneath the flyovers have great potential to be converted into something useful rather than letting them go neglected or wasted in dead parking lots, litter dump-yards or miscellaneous less important uses. The aim of this project is not only to provide basic facilities to the deprived but also to make them stand on their own feet. Hence the program of my project is deduced from this above-mentioned objective. My program includes a center of education in the day time and later in the evening it can be used for vocational training workshops, thus making multiuse of the space and inducing skill set in people which could help them earn a livelihood and attain a respectable place in the society. A market place will be provided where they can sell their handmade products and get paid and appreciated for their hard work. Furthermore, the project aims to bridge the social disconnect between people due to the difference of status, by providing a state of the art Gallery, where thriving artists from around the city could display their artwork. On weekends the place will be turned into a market/ bazaar for selling handmade craft. I want this thesis to be an initiative to bring people together and elevate the poor, by designing the space in such a way that it would help the weaker section learn and progress more.
