STUDENT ASSESSMENT SEMINARS DYNAMIC ASSESSMENT OF COGNITIVE MODIFIABILITY The Dynamic Assessment of Cognitive Modifiability is aligned with Feuerstein’s theories of Structural Cognitive Modifiability (SCM) and Mediated Learning Experience (MLE) which are based on the basic premises that intelligence is dramatically modifiable. The Learning Propensity Assessment Device (LPAD) shifts focus from what the individual is able to do at a given moment in time to what the individual can become able to do now as well as in subsequent interactions.
Learn to assess and mediate students with robust tools for determining learners’ cognitive modifiability. Identify specific cognitive functions and operations that are optimal for change. Explore strategies and tools to advance students’ thinking and learning. Understand how to quantify the nature of investment needed to overcome cognitive deficiencies. Develop reports which expand Individualized Educational Plans (IEP) to incorporate students’ cognitive needs as a response for intervention strategies to be successful and enduring.
Feuerstein’s Dynamic Assessment is the best known and most researched of the Dynamic approaches. Thousands of research and clinical studies worldwide over the last 60 years support its benefits as an alternative means to assessment for standard achievers, gifted and remedial students; special needs and ESL learners; cultural minorities, and individuals with traumatic brain injuries.
DISCOVER STUDENTS’ COGNITIVE POTENTIAL.
Identify what can be learned, not just what has been taught.

The course will incorporate a demonstration of an LPAD assessment, hands-on small group practice focusing on the cognitive processes and quality of evaluator-child interaction, interpretation of assessment results, and LPAD report writing. Goals include enabling educators, psychologists, and therapists to discover students’ ”true” learning potential for cognitive changes. Participants will learn how to facilitate and enhance cognitive functioning to advance learning and behaviors.
Course Code: LPAD-01 Early: $2,125.00 Price: $2,200.00 CPDU or Graduate Credit Available upon request for additional fee.

Dynamic Assessment of Cognitive Modifiability: The Learning Potential Assessment Device Revised and extended edition of the 1979 volume addresses the necessity of directing the process of dynamic assessment and mediation to a wide range of learners by focusing on the enhancement of cognitive functions and the need for the individuals to modify themselves in order to adapt to changing conditions of existence. Divided into three parts, the authors discuss the conceptual and theoretical basis for dynamic assessment. The first part provides the clinical application with detailed description of the procedure and instruments of the Learning Potential Assessment Device (LPAD) and the application in both the individual and group format. In the third part, a deep analysis of the research and construction of the LPAD instruments with their field testing and applications to research of various populations. Finally the process of creating the outcomes of dynamic assessment which addresses the learner profile of modifiability, the process of summarizing and conveying results.

You love me!!...Don’t accept me as I am The first and second edition of the book Don’t Accept Me As I Am was published more than 20 years ago and since then significant changes have occurred in the social status, education level, and employment conditions of low functioning and exceptional individuals. This revised and expanded edition of Reuven Feuerstein classic book, is based on the Theory of Structural Cognitive Modifiability (SCM) and Mediated Learning Experience (MLE) related to the theory and application of Feuerstein’s Mediated Learning Experience (MLE) and their “potential” for developmentally disabled individuals. Specific focus is placed on children with special need because behavioral scientists have generally considered the factors, obvious in cases such as Down Syndrome, Trisomy 21, Fragile X, Williams Syndrome, DeSoto Syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorder and other organic conditions, to be the ultimate barrier to any attempts to change the cognitive structure of individuals. The foundation of this book is not limited to addressing those with special needs as the theory of Structural Cognitive Modifiability (SCM) which views all humans and their characteristics, including cognition - affective and emotional, personality and behavior as modifiable regardless of etiology, age, or severity of the condition.
