The Storyline Nick is a 10 year old boy . He is skinny and energetic. But due to some illness he is unable to walk. So he has to be taken care by his parents and has to have an eye upon him all the time . He wants to enjoy his life like the other boys of his age do by riding their bikes and playing by self. He has recently developed a new passion for photography for which he needs to travel easily so that he can fulfil his passion for photography and enjoy on his own.
Requirements: The Parents requirement is that Nick could have a folded/ transportable wheelchair bike by which he can really fulfil his passion and which is easier for them also to carry and transport it to different places. The requirement is that it should be light weigh, easy folding and transportable which can even be stored in the house and be transported and stored in the car. So that they can provide him his own space and chance to exploreand have fun with his new hobby.
IDEA GENERATION So according to what the requirements are we decided to design a foldable wheelchair bike which is not more than 6 kgs heavy and can be easily transported and stored in compact places. Which is easy to handle and made out of material which can hold upto a weight of approximately 60 kgs. We have designed the bike in such a way that is inspired by the folding scooter and wheelchair. It even has a belt attached to it so that the child is comfortable and doesn’t fall.

Materials In The Process -The entire body is made out of 6061-T6 aluminium alloy that combines aluminium with magnesium and silicon, which is widely available, less costly and more flexible. This is used in high pressure applications and is heavy duty structures requiring good corrosion resistance. -The tubing diameter and wall thickness effect stiffness, strength and weight. -The diameter of the tyre is no more than 18� and are light in weight and makes it easy to ride it. -The seat is made of Vinyl Material which is soft and has rubber components.
