Week Three

Reading: Kolerevic B. 2003. Architecture in the Digital Age

Kolerevic described three fundamental type of fabrication techniques in the reading. Outline the three techniques and discuss the potential of Computer Numeric Controlled fabrication with parametric modelling. (150 words max)

The three fundamental type of fabrication technigues are subtractive, addictive and formative.

Week Three

Surface Creation

Using scripting is much more easy to create different iterations of surface. We can adjust the number slider to create different iterations of surface.

3

Week Four

Panels & Waffle

One of the surface are constructed with 3D pyramids, and the other one are constructed with 2D panel with different size of hollow.

The waffle structure are twisted along x-axis. It got a hollow stucture in inteior. It create a interor space for human to pass through.

4

Week Four

Laser Cutting

By unrolling the surface of the panel and exporting the curves of the waffle stucture, lines for laser cutting can be exported.

5

Week Five

Using scripting make the process of creating different iterations much more easy. As different iterations can be created by changing the numbers of points.

6

Week Five

Isometric

The solid are created by subtracting the octagons. The subtracted area created are level different of the celling and created are open space for light direct into the space..

Task 01 Matrix I have choose thhe last version of the surfaces. Because the two surfaces is like parallel to each other, the can create a uniform shape of the waffle structure. As the surfaces is parallel to each other, the created waffle structure is like twisting along x- axis.
