Linear dimensional change: Provides information about the dimensional stability of the material. According to the Standard it is measured 24 hours after taking the impression. The smaller the absolute value is, the lower the shrinkage of the impression. Elastic recovery: Provides information about the elastic recovery properties of the material. The nearer the value is to 100%, the more the impression returns to its original shape. Strain in compression: Provides information about the elasticity of the product. The greater the value is, the easier the impression is to remove from the patient’s mouth. Shore hardness: Provides information about the final hardness of the cured material.

Precision impression material (vinyl polysiloxane)
The Panasil® initial contact X-Light Advantages and Benefits Product Advantages
Benefits to the Practitioner
Exceptional initial hydrophilicity
The material immediately overcomes the residual moisture and directly contacts the moist tooth surface; the impression reproduces the crisp detail of the preparation margin even with residual moisture present. Guarantee of a precise impression even at the end of the total working time. Good results regardless of the time of the application stage. Clinical conditions (moist oral cavity) further improve the initial hydrophilicity. The material flows into narrow crevices when pressure is applied and does not drip from the tooth into the oral cavity. Relaxed, careful impression-taking due to an adequately long total working time: more comfortable for the patient and greater satisfaction.
Initial hydrophilicity lasts throughout the total working time Increasing hydrophilicity Good flowability with high thixotropy User/patient-friendly setting characteristics
Contact angles
QR-Code
The contact angle measurement is the parameter for testing a material‘s hydrophilicity, describing how an impression material handels a moist tooth surface. To measure contact angles, a water droplet is applied to the material‘s surface. The angle of the droplet parallel to the material‘s surface is observed and recorded. If the droplet‘s angle rapidly flattens out onto the material, then the material has excellent hydrophilicity meaning it can overcome any residual moisture remaining on the tooth, even in extreme conditions.
