The Blue Dahlia Bistro is a European-style bistro located on the square. They compare the atmosphere as sitting in the European countryside either inside or on their outdoor patio. There are several other Blue Dahlia Bistros located in Austin and in Westlake, Texas. Their outdoor patio is perfect for enjoying the beautiful San Marcos summer evenings!

The bistro also offers catering for any party or event you have that might benefit from some delicious European cuisine!

They pride themselves on using local and organic ingredients in all of their cooking. They buy from local farms and businesses for the purpose of supporting locally owned businesses!

Blue Dahlia’s menu is inspired by European cuisine, you can order food originating from France, Germany, the Netherlands and more.

They have all you need to satisfy your foreign cravings. They offer a variety of different appetizers, entrees, and an all day long breakfast menu, and who doesn’t love breakfast for dinner! They are open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Sunday through Wednesday and 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday through Saturday.

“Super cute restaurant! Beautiful music was playing in the background, very intimate setting in the evening. We sat in the front, didn't realize they have a gorgeous patio in the back! Would recommend patio if weather allows,” Lauren B. from Yelp said.

Texas Summer’s is there anything else like them? I’ll give you the answer, the answer is a definitive: ‘No.’ Simply because, it seems as though the heat never really dissipates. It is constant one day it can be a staggering 98 degrees and the next it can reach a sweltering 112 degrees. Any other state would wonder, “ How do those Texans survive the heat?”

Well friends, this is exactly how it is done in San Marcos Texas! First, you have to begin your day with a cup of cold brew from one of downtown San Marcos’ coffee shops (Tantra coffeehouse, Stellar Cafe, The Buzz Mill, & Redbud Roasters… just to name a few) Take in a leisurely glass-bottom boat tour right before temperatures begin to rise. San Marcos Resident “ The best way to beat the summer heat is spending the day at Swell park. It is a great place to lounge and relax with your friends and it’s the perfect place to cool down," Giselle B. said.

Another favorite local pass time is to take a trip to Rhea’s Ice cream shop which is a skip and a hop away from Swell Park. Their patron’s enjoy unique homemade flavors such as ‘Goat cheese and raspberry jam mixed with avocado and coconut.’ “ There is nothing like a Texas Summer, yes, the heat can be unbearable at times. But when you’re in downtown San Marcos there is so much to do, to distract from the scorching heat.”
