Dual Enrollment at IRSC Public, charter, private and home education students can get a jump on college—saving both time and money!—with Dual Enrollment at IRSC. Students can simultaneously earn credit toward a high school diploma, along with college credit toward an Associate Degree or credit toward a career-training certificate for an eligible course. Nearly 5,000 area high school students participated in the IRSC Dual Enrollment program during the 2018-2019 school year: • 98% earned college credit while in high school. • 329 graduated with an Associate Degree from IRSC at the same time they graduated from high school.

Tuition and textbooks are FREE for eligible high school and home education students. Dual Enrollment students are also exempt from application, tuition and laboratory fees.

Dual Enrollment college credit transfers to any Florida public college or university offering that course. Courses with the same prefixes and numbers must be treated as though taken at the receiving institution.

Course Selection At Indian River State College, Dual Enrollment students can take challenging and interesting courses, day or night, during fall, spring and summer semesters. Courses are offered at all of the five IRSC campuses, online through the IRSC Virtual Campus, and at many Indian River, Martin, Okeechobee and St. Lucie County high schools. Course selections are ultimately derived from a process that begins with discussions between the parent, student, IRSC and the Dual Enrollment contact at the high school. Consideration is given to IRSC courses and course outline requirements, parameters of articulation agreements and the relationship between the courses and the student’s high school graduation requirements.
