Early childhood educators facilitate learning and experiences that advance the physical, emotional, intellectual and social development of the children in their care. Program graduates seek employment in private and public child care centers; in classroom settings such as pre-kindergarten, Head Start centers, kindergarten, early grades in elementary schools, and private nursery schools and preschools (with typically developing children and children with developmental delays and disabilities); in home settings working with students and their families in Early Head Start, family and group child care homes, and in private household child care.
IRSC Programs Associate Degree The Associate in Science Degree in Early Childhood Education is designed for students pursuing a career in the childcare industry. You will learn to attend to the health, safety and nutritional needs of children. You’ll learn to organize activities that stimulate their physical, emotional, intellectual and social growth. You will help children explore their individual interests, develop talents and independence, build self-esteem, learn how to get along with others, and prepare for more formal schooling. Technical Certificates Earn one of these valuable certificates at the same time you're completing the A.S.
