Begin your career as a valued member of the healthcare team— trained to set appointments, maintain confidential medical records, and facilitate some billing or accounting functions. Graduates of the IRSC Health Services Management program seek employment in a hospital, clinic, outpatient surgery center, physician’s office, public health agency, long-term care facility or laboratory. Others take advantage of the rapidly growing healthcare industry and its demand for more managers with a four-year degree by continuing with an IRSC Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Management.
The Associate in Science Degree in Health Services Management is an online selective-admissions program. You’ll study healthcare issues and trends, marketing and customer service practices, emerging legal and financial issues and healthcare management principles. You’ll learn to serve as an effective manager by establishing and implementing policies, objectives and procedures, supervising and training personnel, developing reports and budgets and coordinating activities with other managers. Final consideration is based upon completion of the following prior to the application deadline. Applicants must • Be at least 18 years of age prior to the first day of class; • Have a high school diploma or GED®; • Complete the IRSC Application for Admission; • Complete the IRSC Health Science Application and pay the $30 application fee; • Ensure all official transcripts are on file at IRSC Student Records; and • Consult the Health Services Management Application Book for additional application requirements.
