Begin your career as an entry-level member of the healthcare team—trained to acquire, manage, analyze and present data so that better clinical and business decisions can be made. Graduates earning the Healthcare Informatics Specialist certificate may be eligible to take the AHIMA Certified Health Data Analyst (CHDA) exam and seek employment with a hospital, outpatient surgery center, clinic, physician’s office or government agency. Some can even work from home. This certificate is also a great supplement to healthcare personnel who want to increase their data management and analytic skills.
The IRSC Healthcare Informatics Specialist Certificate program is an online selective-admissions program. Course content includes medical terminology, healthcare delivery systems, electronic health record systems, data management and analysis, ethical and legal concepts, health data content, statistics and employability skills. Final consideration is based upon completion of the following prior to the application deadline. Applicants must • Be at least 18 years of age prior to the first day of class; • Have a high school diploma or GED®; • Complete the IRSC Application for Admission; • Complete the IRSC Health Science Application and pay the $30 application fee; • Ensure all official transcripts are on file at IRSC Student Records; and • Consult the Healthcare Informatics Specialist Application Book for additional application requirements.
Financial assistance is available to those who qualify. GED® is a registered trademark of the American Council on Education (ACE) and administered exclusively by GED Testing Service LLC under license. This material is not endorsed or approved by ACE or GED Testing Service.
